    DUMPING IS REAL!!

  6. I get a single large hiccup when I drink and sometimes when I eator sometimes just out of the blue. I sound like a seal- any thoughts? I used to have that a long time ago and then not again until after my surgery. I did have a haiatal hernia fixed at the time of surgery so I'm wondering if it's from that. Going to ask my surgeon at my next follow up but that's not for awhile. Mich W Hw 223, SW 217 CW 196.6 GW 135
  7. Had my 2 month post op today and asked about the hiccup. He said my diaphragm was "injured" and the hiccups are spasms. Said they will eventually become less frequent and go may go away all together. I just ate 2 pieces of bacon and had about 4 hiccups (shrieks!) in a row, so maybe certain foods trigger it. Also asked about the weird shoulder pain when I eat or drink and he said that is referred gas pain- lovely. Mich W Hw 223, SW 217 CW 192 GW 135

    5 days out Incision hurting

Yes - totally normal as it heals. My recovery was easy but several times it would start hurting out of the blue. Even like 5 weeks out. I thinks it's just part of the healing process. I hope it feels better soon! Mich W Hw 223, SW 217 CW 192 GW 135

    June 2017 Sleevers

I am so with you! One thing I love though is zucchini noodles with spaghetti sauce! I got a spiralizer and make noodles out of zucchini- tried adding carrots last week and it was wonderful - added just a little more flavor. I got mine in amazon for around $20. Im struggling with adding food I shouldn't eat because I can tolerate almost anything now. I'm wondering it that is really that bad if I watch my calories and get my protein in. I have had a single small piece of pizza 3 times- usually on date night. Mich W Hw 223, SW 217 CW 192 GW 135

    Travel question

I completely agree wait for the surgery. You will not have the energy to walk around and view the beautiful sights. I had a trip to the dr planned and put off surgery until I got back and I'm so glad I did! Enjoyed my trip and had time to recover after I had surgery. Mich W Hw 223, SW 217 CW 192 GW 135

    Pureed stage--blenders?

I don't think so. You can find all kinds of already puréed foods. If you think about it you'll be eating about 2 ounces of food three times a day - that's about 80 ounces in 2 weeks- not worth buying an expensive blender. Mich W Hw 223, SW 217 CW 192 GW 135
  15. My back is great now- Barely a roll! Im organizing a clothing swap at work. I can't wait. Mich W Hw 223, SW 217 CW 192 GW 135

  17. I'm interested in getting together with the Colorado sleevers but we haven't yet. As long as you choose a neutral public place so it's safe I think it would be ok. Im pretty trusting though... not always the best way to be online. Mich W Hw 223, SW 217 CW 192 GW 135
  18. I knew we shouldn't have celery but no more craisins? I'm gonna cry - haven't had them yet but wanted them! Mich W Hw 223, SW 217 CW 192 GW 135
  19. I hear you completely! I kept wearing a 16 bottom but kept having to buy larger tops. When I got to a 2x I almost died! That's what made me decide to have the surgery. Most of my weight was just under my boobs- I just kept getting thicker! That is also where I have lost most of it, thankfully- though I'm into 14's and smaller 16's now after just 31 pounds of weight loss. I'm enjoying going through my closet and boxing up the bigger clothes: I'm holding off buying new clothes until Christmas when I can hopefully splurge on some new things in a smaller size! No weight loss first week???

Yup- those dang iv's pump you full of weight too. Selling from surgery- not sure it adds weight but it makes sense. I remember being so disappointed that I was basically the same weight after eating g nothing for 3 days! Hang in there it will come off! Try to have realistic expectations- these forums are full of people concerned that they don't from 20 pounds in 2 weeks or close to that. Stick to the plan. Stay hydrated and eat your protein and the rest will come naturally. Mich W Hw 223, SW 217 CW 192 GW 135

    Support Groups?? Who uses them?

I love this website. I am planning on attending a live support group this coming week. I think it will help me think about topics I don't look into online. Also it may give me opportunities to make friends locally who have had the surgery. Just my 2 cents. Mich W Hw 223, SW 217 CW 192 GW 135

Almost 6 weeks and only 20lbs.

I agree with everything the previous poster said! I'm just 7.5 weeks out so I'm not an expert. I will say this though... focus on getting your fluids in and your protein. We will lose slowly- my surgeon said after the first few weeks it will slow to 2-3 pounds per week. Sometimes we stall because we aren't eating enough. We didn't put this weight on overnight and won't take it off overnight. I am guilty of thinking I should be losing more quickly and then I realize exactly what the previous poster said... 25 pounds in 7 weeks that's a great weight loss. Are you counting from surgery date to now or from the start of your surgery process until now? I usually count from the start of my journey, but it's less from the surgery date. I think the slower, steady weight loss is healthier. It's not as fun. These are just ramblings and thoughts. I hope it helps you. Mich W Hw 223, SW 217 CW 192 GW 135
