    Hormone Levels Checked?

Definitely sounds like something isn't right. Please let us know what you find out! Do you have sleep apnea? Or another sleep disorder? I was always exhausted and had a sleep study done. Once I got my Coapa I had way more energy. Mich W Hw 223, SW 217 CW 200 GW 135

    Starting to get excited.

So glad you're on your way to health. Don't be surprised if you don't ever need caffeine again! I was a pot a day girl. Quit 2 days before surgery about 4 weeks ago and haven't looked back- well once I made a tiny cup because it sounded good but it tasted awful to me! I have more energy now than ever and never get that afternoon slump anymore! Mich W Hw 223, SW 217 CW 200 GW 135

    Aging process and Sleeve

My surgeon requires follow up with a dietitian at 2 weeks,3, 6, 9, we months and 2 years. She really gave me good info on vitamins and protein. I will definitely be following up with my primary doc too though as I have had b and d deficiencies in the past and those have awful implications on our health! I thought I must have a brain tumor and my dr finally diagnosed a vitamin b deficiency- my thinking was cloudy, I couldn't find my words and my hands were tingling. She did every test she could think of until one time she added a b vitamin level and that was it! Now a $6 sublingual from Walmart has changed my life!! Mich W Hw 223, SW 217 CW 200 GW 135

    Need a buddy/mentor...help!

I would suggest a support group in your area. My hospital has one that meets twice a month. I'm going to start going. We are here for you online but I really think something in person would be even better as an additional support. If there isn't one maybe your surgeon would support you starting one and would invite his other patients. It could give you something to look forward to that isn't a scale or food based reward. Just a few thoughts. We all need buddies and mentors who are there for us. Good luck! Mich W Hw 223, SW 217 CW 200 GW 135
  9. I hope your surgery went well! Keep us posted once you are feeling up to it! Prayers coming your way! Mich W Hw 223, SW 217 CW 200 GW 135

    Didn't tell my sister

I chose not to tell my daughter who is bipolar because she uses this kind of info as a weapon. I love her but I have to protect myself from her. In my family I only told my husband and one of my 4 children (aged 14-20) I told the 18 year old. She has been a great support. When my sister thought I was getting wls she panicked. I assured her I wasn't getting that done. I feel awful lying to them, but really, this is my story and I have the right to share it with those I feel will not use it against me Or violate my trust. Chin up. Take her comments for what they are worth. Sometimes people are so used to seeing is heavy that they think we look sick because we are losing weight. They'll get used to it! Early Plateau: Is something wrong?

Im right there with you. I was sleeved on 6/22. I've lost 17 lbs since surgery date and have been stuck at 200.6 since last Tuesday. I'm not eating more than 600 cal per day. I know it will come off soon. It is frustrating though. It will make it appear a little more natural though since I'm not telling a lot of folks that I had wls. Maybe our bodies are a little in shock from so few calories. Mich W Hw 223, SW 217 CW 200 GW 135
  12. I didn't expect it to be so hard to get my fluids in. I still have a hard time getting more than 48 oz in a day. Mich W Hw 223, SW 217 CW 200 GW 135

    Going into week 5

I was sleeved 6/22 and have lost 17 lbs since surgery day but none in a week. I'm wondering if my bowel habits or lack there of are causing the stall. Ive been on meats and cheese since day 5 so I should be "moving" but it's not working. Tried milk of magnesia yesterday but it was nasty. Mich W Hw 223, SW 217 CW 200 GW 135

    Another post about stalls!!

Hair loss can be a sign of not enough protein. My dietitian said about 3 months after a protein deficiency your hair will fall out and your nails will be crap. Up your protein. For me it's hard without really being conscious of it. I found a 10 G protein drink at the dollar store that I'm going to try. Mich W Hw 223, SW 217 CW 200 GW 135

    Rice/pasta alternatives

On another thread someone said they got a veggie spiralizer and made zucchini noodles. I just got mine form amazon today and haven't tried it yet. I did go on Pinterest and put in spiralizer recipes and found tons that look really good. I would suggest that. Apparently you can spiralizer all kinds of veggies and make awesome low carb paleo meals that fit into the bariatric guidelines. I don't know about rice. I have completely avoided it so far until I can talk with my Dietitian about it. Mich W Hw 223, SW 217 CW 200 GW 135

    Would appreciate advice

I also have never felt better. Just the change in diet has given me so much more energy! I have been off of caffeine nearly a month and am so much more rested and alert. I know I wouldn't have made this drastic of a diet change without the surgery. It wasn't that I ate too much , but that I ate all the wrong things. Mich W Hw 223, SW 217 CW 200 GW 135

    Protein bars?

I have to avoid tree nuts because I am highly allergic- that's ruled out so many protein products :-( Hw 223, SW 217 CW 200 GW 135

    Finding out the hard way!

    Introduction

Thanks! I'm feeling great! I can't believe how much more energy I have too! I've been decaffeinated since June 22. I can't believe that I don't have an afternoon slump I used to have when I was drinking a pit a day! I also am not as tired as I used to be. I guess the carbs and sugar were killing me after all (lol). Congrats on the weight loss. I look forward to getting to know some new friends on here! Hw 223, SW 217 CW 200 GW 135

    Struggling day to day

It isn't easy. Ever. But I am glad I get to restart every morning and say today is going to be a good day full of self control. So far I've only had 2 days where I fell and ate foods that I shouldn't have. I'm only 3.5 weeks out so I anticipate those will happen from time to time. Both things happened on the same day. The next day I brushed myself off and started over making sure to get my fluids and protein in. I know that there are foods I just can't have around- others aren't a problem. Pizza and pie are the 2 that just can't happen for me. But ice cream, chips, soda. candy so far I haven't even been tempted yet. I'm sure as I become more active and lose more weight I'll have other motivations for sticking with it as well. And I have you all here to pull me through it. Thanks! Hw 223, SW 217 CW 200 GW 135
