Can't get out of this stall!

I'm almost 7 weeks and talked with my bariatric nurse coordinator today. She said I should still be eating about 2.5 ounces per meal 3 times daily plus 64 oz of water. She encouraged me to measure everything and add extra protein powder as I can- I was concerned about some reactions to food I've been having. I know I've been eating too fast and not getting enough fluid and some days not enough protein. I'm happy with my weight loss- 28 lbs since the start. So I'm starting over making sure I follow the drs instructions to the t. Your weight loss seems good I think- 37 lbs and we are about the same time out. Mich W Hw 223, SW 217 CW 195 GW 135

    Working Out and Calorie Intake

I am 5. 1/2 weeks out. Joined the ymca a couple of weeks ago. I met with a personal trainer and told her I had surgery, limited to 10 lbs lifting until next week. I told her I wanted to strengthen my core so that I don't end up with too much awful loose skin and to strengthen my upper arms. She gave me this routine: treadmill starting at 30 min. Wall push ups 2 sets of 15, laying on an exercise ball core flexed and hips up lifting 2 5 lb weights from my chest up (2 sets of 15) standing with feet hip distance apart core tight but up and lifting 2 5 lb weights up from the floor - 2 sets of 15. And planking I started at 30 seconds working up to a minute. So far it's going good. I feel like I've had a workout but am not wiped out. I'll add new exercises as I recover. She said that would help the core muscles be strong and I'd probably need to have my apron removed at some point but the muscles underneath would be strong. I'm trying to keep my protein up but I am having a hard time with it. I know recovery and workouts will go better if I can get more protein in! Mich W Hw 223, SW 217 CW 195 GW 135
  4. Definitely will! Mine happens at random times not just when I'm eating or drinking. It is so annoying! Mich W Hw 223, SW 217 CW 195 GW 135

    5 days post op working?

I worked from home- my brain wasn't normal though right away- foggy, forgetful just not all there. I could work for short stints but because I work in a troubleshooting, figured out what went wrong kind of job I wasn't at my best. If you can take lots of breaks and rest you should be able to do it. Mich W Hw 223, SW 217 CW 195 GW 135

    Surgery Tomorrow

I almost decided I didn't need it , that I could do it on my own. I figured that I had my whole life to do it on my own and kept gaining back what I lost and then some. I've lost 28 lbs in 5 weeks and feel better than I ever have! You can do this! Mich W Hw 223, SW 217 CW 195 GW 135

    June 2017 Sleevers

Also discovering that some artificial sweeteners and sugar alcohol makes me so ill! I got some sugar free candy from the dollar store had 15 g of sugar alcohol- every time I eat one I get sweats and clammy and nauseous. I think I have to start watching that. Mich W Hw 223, SW 217 CW 195 GW 135

    June 2017 Sleevers

Hi everyone- how's it going? I had stall a couple of weeks ago but am now losing .5 to 1 lb per day again! My clothes are actually getting too big for me! Time to go shopping in my own closet and clear out the bigger ones! Woo hoo! 28 lbs down since the start of this journey. Still having trouble getting my liquids in though - I rarely get more than 30 ounces. I think I need to set a sip timer! Please post an update of your progress/victories/challenges. Mich W Hw 223, SW 217 CW 195 GW 135
  12. Mine also said it is your starting weight that is submitted. I was told they just want to see if you will be successful following the plan. Most of us have lost and regained weight pre surgery. I think they know that's the pattern and for some sustained weight loss will only come with surgery. Mich W Hw 223, SW 217 CW 196.6 GW 135

    Italian ice too fast

I had a sf kona ice early out too and it made me so sick! So do sf slurpees. St popsicles are fine- I think the flavorings must me too concentrated or something like that. I got some sf butterscotch candies that I am realizing give me the sweats and hot flash- I'm wondering if they are really sf or if maybe they have a high sugar alcohol. This is a trial and error area for sure! I ate something on Saturday that made me so nauseous and gassy for hours and can't figure it out- I only ate yogurt, yoplait 100. I'm wondering if it uses the same artificial sweetener! Mich W Hw 223, SW 217 CW 196.6 GW 135

  16. Spark people is super easy- you can even scan the bar codes on packages and then adjust the serving size. There's a quick add option. You can also track your weight water and exercise Mich W Hw 223, SW 217 CW 196.6 GW 135

    Driving

I was just told no driving while in pain meds. I drove less than a week afterward- maybe 4 days. I didn't need a lot of pin meds. Mich W Hw 223, SW 217 CW 196.6 GW 135

    Forgiveness...anyone?

I agree with all said here. I think it might help to have a counselor - you are going through dramatic changes and having someone who is objective might really help give you insight. A counselor could also give you some great suggestions on how to work through those feelings. Mich W Hw 223, SW 217 CW 196.6 GW 135
  19. Hi- I'm wondering if anyone has tried cryotherapy ? I was wondering if it might help with the loose skin from weight loss. We have a few places that offer it where I live. I was thinking of trying it a few months out - I'm only 5 weeks now. Mich W Hw 223, SW 217 CW 196.6 GW 135

    Pre Op liquid diet

Protein2o is good- I got it at Safeway 15 g of protein. Wasn't too sweet. Mich W Hw 223, SW 217 CW 196.6 GW 135
  21. Tonight I ate yogurt around 5:15- drank water about a half hour later and then another 45 min after that we were walking around Walmart and got the hiccup so there's no reason I should have . So weird! Mich W Hw 223, SW 217 CW 196.6 GW 135
  22. I'm 5 weeks out and have lost 27 pounds so far- since my journey (21 since surgery day) I think you are on track. Slow and steady wins the race! Mich W Hw 223, SW 217 CW 196.6 GW 135
  23. Complications with the sleeve are very uncommon. If you are following your surgeons directions then you should have nothing to worry about. Find something to take your mind off of it. I like to cruise Pinterest for healthy recipes to try. I even like trying new recipes for my family even if I can't eat them- weird I know. Maybe even find a new hobby unrelated to weight loss. Just a thought. Mich W Hw 223, SW 217 CW 196.6 GW 135

    Protein Requirements As We Loose

Thanks! That makes sense. I do have my bariatric NUT as well but she costs me $50 every time I see her. I thought I'd see the wellness one, but probably won't. Mich W Hw 223, SW 217 CW 197.4 GW 135
