Tome off work - how much??

I had the vsg, and I took off 2 weeks and a couple days. I am currently back with 4 hr days, and will start full days next week (4 weeks out from surgery). I've felt great, and think I would have been fine going back after 1 week. My work isn't physically strenuous though.

Any New Englanders here? Esp. MA, VT, NH, ME

Hi fellow New Englanders! I'm from RI, sleeved 4/4. So glad to finally have some warmer weather to get out and walk - I was going crazy doing laps around my house.

    Pics from the Gym!

    That's awesome, keep it up!
  4. So I am 4 days post op, and I just took my first full shower - soap, shampoo, conditioner... The works! I can't believe how tiring it was! I wonder if a cooler shower would have been easier. I'm currently laying down resting until I feel better. Has anyone else felt the same? How long before I can get out if a shower feeling good?

I’m 23 days since my sleeve

I'm two weeks out and doing two walks at about a mile each every day. In between, I try to get up and move around for a bit every hour or two, but I don't count steps/distance for those periods.

Pain in the middle of my chest while eating..

I get that sometimes when I eat too fast as well. So uncomfortable!

    13 Days Post-Op and I have lost 14 Pounds

Awesome! I have similar days out/loss numbers. I'm only OK'd to walk until I'm 4 weeks though, you're lucky!

    April/May 2018 Sleevers!!?

Positive update for you guys: as of yesterday, I'm down 15 lbs! Sleeved on 4/4!

    Poll: What is your goal?

I'm 5'2 as well, started at 236. Current weight is 221. I'd like to get down to 130, but I'd feel successful if I got down to 160.

    Any April 2018 Sleevers?!?!

I did not have a drainage bulb, and one was never discussed. I'm 30 with no co-occuring issues - I don't know if that makes a difference. Surgery was 4/4 for me, and today is my first post op appointment! I'm looking forward to finding out how much I've lost so far. I don't have a scale, and my parents' scale is 5-10 lbs off (depending on who you ask! 😁) So I haven't really been able to track weight at all.

    Post op pain

No comparison, in my opinion. I only used pain meds for 3 days when I came home, and it was more a precaution than anything. I was easily and happily up moving a few hours after surgery.

    Powerade Zero

I only had a day of clear liquids before surgery, but I went through two big Powerade zeros. So tasty! I haven't had any since surgery (4/4).

Everyone loss is different, and some people hold more water weight than others. Has your doctor been concerned?

Way to go! That's such a huge accomplishment! You look very happy and healthy!

    Any April 2018 Sleevers?!?!

Hi there! I was sleeved 4/4, and I have had such an easy time so far. I was up walking around a couple hours after I woke up, and I think it really helped. I didn't have any noteable gas pains, and I feel like I'm almost back to 100% already.

    April/May 2018 Sleevers!!?

Hi! I had my surgery 4/4, so I am a little over a week out, and feeling great! I weighed myself once a few days ago (no working scale at my house), and I think I'd lost 7 or 8 lbs by then. You're lucky! I have my last one tonight. Can't wait to be done with them!

    Silly Anesthesia Question

I had surgery around 10:30am, and I don't remember anything before 2:30 or 3 in the adternoon. I had pretty bad nausea and vomitting for the first 36 hours. They had me rotating through reglan, zofran, and Benadryl. I don't remember saying any crazy stuff, but IDK if I woke up at 2:30, or if I was up embarrassing myself for some time that I just can't remember. ETA: also, I had my husband wait at home since we live close, and I'm really glad I did. He was called when my surgery was done, but they asked him to wait until 4:30 or 5 to come. I would've felt bad if he had been waiting there that whole time.

    Protein shakes making me sick

I was also a big fan of the premier protein. I've tried chocolate, strawberry, and banana. They've all been great! I've had issues in the past with protein shakes making me feel sick to my stomach, but no problems yet with this one!

    4 days post op

9 days out, and same here. I took the pain meds my first day home, then just at night to help me get comfortable so I could sleep for another 3 or 4 days. I can't believe how great I feel. The RN and nutritionist I spoke to pre-op kept making it sound like I'd be miserable for a month, and said there's no way I'd be back to work the first week of May - I want to go back next week!

    Time off from work

I had surgery 4/4. I feel great and would like to go back Monday, but I have a desk job.

    Before and After Pics

You are all such an inspiration! I was just sleeved on 4/4, so no comparison pics yet. I can't wait until I've made some progress like all of you!
  22. Thanks. I've felt way better than I expected thus far, so this took me by surprise.

    Stomach pressure

Same here, I'm glad I'm not crazy! 4 days post of - I wear a bra with the straps unbuckled. I feel like it gives me a tiny bit of support/nipple coverage.
