    Before and After Pics

271 day of surgery 180lbs (my first personal goal). Almost 8 months post op
  2. Ok so..... first off I apologize for my question. But I’m really curious..... it involves the lady parts post surgery so if you aren’t comfortable with it please leave the thread. Onto the question: did any of you have appearance changes in the lady parts post surgery? Like.... my lady part is plump.... will this change the more weight I lose? Did any one end up with like saggy skin there?

    Help! Mushy food depression!

My main meal during this phase was turkey chili that was cooking in a slow cooker all day.
  4. I’m 34 so I’m probably in the same boat as you. I haven’t noticed any sagging yet (90lbs down so far), I’m kinda keeping my fingers crossed that it won’t be bad xD
  5. Congrats! I look forward to having obese remove from mine! I need to get my drs to update it lol

    Feel like something is wrong

Like every one else is saying it sounds too aggressive of a diet. Try slow cooker foods. My first soft food was turkey chili and became my life for a couple of months lol. I had a bypass and I’m almost 8 months out and at least 1 meal a day is still protein drinks and I still can’t eat beef. Hell even chicken is iffy sometimes. try getting in touch with a nutritionist that works with bariatric patients
  7. Question for any one who had surgery and had hyperthyroidism (HYPER (the one where people who have it are usually skin just apparently not me) not HYPO). Did the surgery mess up your TSH levels? Before the surgery we got my levels to normal and was able to come off the meds. Was off them for 2 years and no issue. Then I had my bypass in March 2020. Levels were just checked and my TSH was 0.005..... so SUPER low

    It's going slow

20lbs in 3 weeks for me so I think you may be on the right track. I thought the same thing too don’t worry!
  9. I’m 3 weeks post op gastric bypass and these past couple of days I have been extremely nauseous. Zofran isnt helping not are those nausea patches they gave me. How did you guys treat nausea post op. Before the operation I’d have ginger ale, and saltines. But obviously those aren’t an option now. i only started the purée food diet a week ago and have actually put myself back on the liquid diet until my appt on the 27th because I keep having complications (inability to tolerate most foods (severe cramping, vomiting and diarrhea). But now with this nausea I’m struggling to even get in a protein drink or my daily liquid intake. Yesterday I had 20 oz liquid. It’s Sunday so my dr isn’t even in the office.

    Nausea treatment

Ok so update: just saw my surgeon, he’s scheduling me for an endoscopy in two weeks to check for strictures. I’ll let you guys know how it goes

    Nausea treatment

Should I call the surgeon or the bariatric primary that saw me? Not sure which one would deal with it
  12. My nutritionist puts us on 2 weeks liquid then onto soft foods. But I will tell you what my doctor told me: just because you can start the soft foods doesn’t mean you have to. If you try it and your body can’t handle it, it’s one to be on the liquid diet longer
  13. I’m actually having a similar problem. I’m 3 weeks out and put myself back on the liquid diet because I was throwing up food and having severe cramping and diarrhea. These past couple of days I am struggling to get my liquid intake in. Planning on calling my surgeon tomorrow
  14. I know this is silly, but I had my surgery March 2nd 2020, so almost a week ago. Since then I have not felt hungry at all. So my question is, if I don’t fee hungry, how can I know when I am full? There’s talk of me being able to start phase 3 Monday and I am afraid of making myself sick because I just can’t tell. Obviously I won’t eat/drink more than a portion, but how do I know if I’m full before I finish that portion?
  15. My surgery is scheduled for March 2nd and I started the liquid diet on Feb 17th. How did you guys get through this part? I'm struggling super bad with it today. I was prepared to smell food once today because my boyfriend needed to make his supper. However i was not prepared to to his brothers and smell hamburgers and French fries, was.not prepared for his mother to pull through taco bell for food, and was not prepared for my niece to come over with Arbys! These are all foods i enjoy and miss and it killed me today. I got had a break down and the got super moody and went to take a nap. I'm allowed protein drinks, broth, and Stevie sweetened drinks (got a bunch of water mix in packs) and unsweetened decaf tea. Any advice guys? I'm 8 days from my surgery and trying not to cheat. But it is so tempting to go scramble up an egg!

    March 2020 Post-op Thread

Had my bypass on March 2nd. Still having pain and I never feel hungry which makes it hard for me to remember my protein shakes. Also struggling to meet the 64 fl oz goal, but as long as my urine is pale and I’m not dizzy I’m not too worried.
  17. Thank you very much everyone! People tell you that you won’t have much of an appetite after the surgery but no one said i wouldn’t feel hunger. It’s weird not having that sensation

    Struggling with preop diet

I did cheat on mine. Even had a piece of pizza two days before (my sugar dropped to 52 and it was the first thing i saw in the kitchen because it was my boyfriends supper) Didn't cause any complications. But, still, try not to cheat. The main purpose of the diet is to shrink the liver. So my doctor said that as long as i mostly followed the diet I would be fine. One thing I did learn though from cheating, after being on the liquid diet for 1 1/2 weeks before cheating, solid food made me sick.
  19. Do your best to not cheat, no matter how tempting it is. I cheated with a scrambled egg 1 week into the liquid diet. The sudden solid food made me so sick
  20. So, I'm sure its a long shot, but is any one here in Ohio and had Dr Augustin through Cleveland Clinic? He's my surgeon and while I've read good reviews about him I was wondering about personal experience.
  21. Welcome! And I feel ya hon! All I keep thinking about is that I am 6 days away from the surgery date. I'm already packing my hospital bag and probably over thinking everything! Oh! And for all of you, when you start packing you bag, let me give you some advice I was given. Pack clothes that are a size or two too big. They put gas in your stomach during the surgery to better get to everything so you'll be a little bloated.
  22. Oof, lucky! I'm on pure liquid diet, it is super hard. I broke down and made a scrambled egg today :/ not proud
  23. Congrats! Mine is scheduled for March 2nd. I'm super nervous and a bit scared though

    Struggling with preop diet

I'm struggling to! In fact i actually visited the forums today looking for advice for this part I started mine on feb 17th so we're pretty much at the same place. I've had people tell me that after the first week it gets easier. Hang in there! If you need someone to talk to feel free to message me. My surgery is actually the day before yours.
  25. Not sure if anyone remembers me since it's been a while since I posted. I finally got the surgery date for my gastric bypass! It's on March 2nd 2020. Naturally I'm super nervous I've never had major surgery. Recently, I've been talking to some other people who have mentioned some side effects they had then nobody warned them about, such as severe diarrhea. So, that's made me wonder, what side effects did you experience post-surgery that you wish someone had warned you about.
