  1. Done! I have Hair loss, unexplained weight gain, and muscle weakness. Ready to find out if I have it or not!!! Don't want to drink that barium though!!! Yuck! Thursday is the day of the catscan! If it means that I can finish my weight loss and get my hair back I'll pretend that barium is a Sonic shake!! Chalk flavored of course!!

  2. How is your Iron? Mine was a 4 (ferritin)! Supposed to be 70 or higher!! After 2 infusions, it is an 81 and my hair has stopped falling out. I am 17 years post op. Doc is also concerned about my adrenal glands and cortisol. FINALLY found a doc that will check everything every 3 months!!! Surgeon should definitely say that!!!

Congrats on almost reaching your goal!!! Yay!!

  3. I go next week for a catscan of my stomach. My thyroid was fine, but from what I read my adrenal gland could be the problem. My doc seems to think that once the cortisol is under control the rest of my weight should come off!! I am hopeful!!

Thank you for letting me know this!! I will pass it on to my doc!! Hope your wife is well!!

    Hi,

Im new here but had the mgb in 2001. I originally lost about 125 pounds and have gained back alot of weight, mostly over the last 3-4 years.

I was hoping to find some others here who have had the surgery a while back. I have a few issues I would like to ask some questions about.

My Iron count is at 5 which is dangerously low and I have yet to find an Iron supplement that I absorb. I just found the Iron patch and will receive it this week. I'm hoping it works and that I don't have to have the iron infusion.

I really would like to lose the weight again but have found it extremely difficult to lose anything I still can not eat very much, Im going to try the unjury Protein I just saw on here. If anyone has any suggestions I would love to hear them.

    Thanks

    Dawn

    Dawn,

I had MGB surgery in June, 2000. I haven't lost all the weight I would like to but haven't gained it back. My ferritin was a 4 until 2 iron infusions ago. My hair finally stopped coming out but now I am waiting and watching for my hair to come back. Why are you hesitant with the iron infusion?

    Thanks,
