  2. Glad you are better. Sorry for your insurance trouble. If you get backed against wall, sometimes hospitals/doctors will forgive some of the bill if you talk to them.

They do have a nonprofit organization that I can apply to. Thank you! Have a great weekend.

  3. I had a revision back on June 16th 2017.

I went from a VGB that was done in 1994 to a RNY on 6/16/2016

I had managed to keep off all the weight of for 20 years but the last two years it just came up and out of nowhere. But that wasn’t the issue the issue was that I had severe Gerd and major pain where the filter was located at. It had weakened over the years and it was very painful when I would eat or drink anything. That made it impossible for me to keep anything down.

So my surgery was done to correct that issue. I’m now down 35 pounds and feeling better. No more pain thank goddess!!

Now I’m having issues getting my primary insurance to pay for the sugary as it’s a non covered procedure. My secondary has paid some but I’m now appealing the denial. I hope it gets approved, otherwise I’m stuck paying 174k, as I was in the hospital for a week. Because of the type of surgery and how invasive it was a 3 day stay was minimum but I had complications due to my blood count being so low so I had to stay a little longer.

  5. I'm Briana! Im 24 and I'm from a small town in Indiana.. I don't have many friends in the bari-community. I'd like to make some! I don't care where you're from.. you don't have to live close! We could exchange numbers and be each others' "go to" person when we feel like giving up.
I have been struggling lately with cravings and giving in to them.. i need some motivation to start exercising and to find ways to refrain from eating too much. I am currently supposed to stick to 4 oz of food at each meal.. this has been the hardest..
we do have local support groups, but I work on the nights that they meet.. so I'm reaching out to you guys!

  6. I love being Vegan. It's made my life easier. I'm also a twice cancer survivor and I believe that my lifestyle as a vegan has saved me from all my health issues. I have 18 surgeries under my belt. And so many other things are happening with my body. So plant base lifestyle has been a huge help!

  8. Just moved on to pureed foods. I start with Protein (still eating mostly protein). I am measuring food. I eat what I have measured and I stop. I don't feel full, but during the day, I am satisfied and move on. At night, I feel hungry throughout the evening.
I have never felt overly full, I have never had a sensation of eating too much.
Post-op (thankfully) I only felt nauseous 3 times, and all three times that passed without getting ill.
I feel like I must be eating too much, and I am just not sure?
I eat considerably less than I did pre-op, but way more than I expected to, and eating is too easy. I expected that post-op I would take a few bites of sugar free Jello and be full. Even when I had sugar-free jello in the hospital, I could take more than a couple of bites.
Maybe because I am still on pureed foods, they are all still slider foods?
Maybe I am eating too fast for the feeling of fullness to develop?
Also, if something comes up and I do not eat on my prescribed schedule, then I feel quite hungry. For example, I had to help one of my kids with something today, and I wasn't able to have my protein drink on schedule, and I was quite hungry by the time I got to the protein drink.
All of this is very concerning! I expected to have more of a limitation. I knew I had to work with the tool, but I expected more a physical sensation that would help. Overall, my recovery from surgery has been easy. However, I am feeling unsure how to maximize the effectiveness of my tool! Yikes!

I'm with you, sometimes I don't feel full. Ugh.
I have a scale and just start using it. Saw my surgeon on Wednesday and he said my pouch should hold 90ml that's less than half a cup. I told him I was eating a cup to a cup and a half. He said I was over eating. So now I'm scared and don't want to eat and when I do I feel overwhelmed and feel as I'm overeating and so freaked out and scared.
