  1. I'm currently on my pre-op diet.. and I'm noticing that I become depressed for a day, then I'm okay, then sad again. I feel like I can't do normal things like go to the lake with friends as they always order food and drink a lot.. things I needed to give up. I've been in my house for days now just feeling like I won't ever be able to spend days with them again.
  2. Did you have previous blood work and a urinalysis for the medical/physical clearance?
  3. I was wondering what they do right before surgery. Do they do another urinalysis, blood work, that kind of testing if you've already had it done a week before surgery? I've never had surgery before and just didn't know why I needed to be at the hospital 4 hours before my surgery. My surgery date is June 27th.
  4. So far from going through a lot of forums on here, not many people have the same pre-op requirements. Yes, the liquid diet prior to surgery is to ensure that the liver does shrink for a lesser chance of complications. However, there's no need to worry if your daughters surgeon hasn't given her one. You can always call and ask, I'm sure. Good luck to your daughter on her surgery, mine is in 10 days.
  5. That's awesome!! Good for you!!
  6. I've slipped twice but only with baked chicken or a bite of cucumber and it's when my headaches are unbearable. I'm at the end of my 3rd day and I've lost 6lbs already [emoji51] good luck to you!! And I will!
  7. What is your doctor specific pre-op diet?
  8. Has anyone had any type of gastric procedure done by Dr. Ernest Rehnke?
  9. Has anyone had any procedure (I'm getting the sleeve done 6/27) by Dr. Ernest Rehnke? I'm nervous now after finding out his malpractices and lawsuits... or any reviews on Palms of Pasadena hospital? That's where mine is taking place and again just found awful reviews..
  10. Currently only allowed to have Optifast, broth, and other clear liquids so that's all I've had besides a couple bites of cucumber today
  11. Thank you... though I did cheat a little and have a few bites of plain cucumber today.. I'm feeling very down now
  12. That's how I am. Days are going by much, much slower and my mood swings are out of control
  13. Thanks for the hint! I'll definitely ask him. One day at a time I suppose
  14. I know everyone is different, I was just looking for some tips in case I happen to have the same situation as all. The 2 week pre op liquid diet is hard but today is better than yesterday. It's getting easier. Thank you for the replies! And I will definitely have a wheelchair ready as per my surgeon as we leave 5 days after surgery.
  15. Yes I'm hoping that I can find a better alternative to these Optifast protein shakes.
  16. I cannot wait for my dense protein days [emoji7]
  17. No, I was called this morning to start my Optifast all liquid diet for 14 days and my date for surgery is June 27th. I wasn't told about trying it before hand.
  18. I'm just wondering how you all felt coming out of surgery. I know it varies person to person, but I'm curious to hear from many. How was the bloating and gas feeling (I don't handle gas pains well to begin with)? I've been seeing that many people have been vomiting directly after surgery. I'm also worried about the catheter. I've never had one put in and the thought makes me freak out a little. The next part of this is I live in Massachusetts and am flying to Florida to have my sleeve procedure. How did you feel flying back home if you did? My date is June 27th and I come home July 8th (getting into Florida on June 25th).
  19. http://www.thehotline.org This website has a call hotline, or an online chat with a professional that may be able to help ease your mind. What he did to you is not acceptable in any way and good for you for putting a stop to it. What he said to you is *excuse my language* bullshit. No one who supposedly loves you should ever, ever say that to you. You are strong, you are beautiful, and you are welcomed here and also welcomed to me as I once went through domestic violence.
  20. How old are you? My doctor told me (as I'm 20yr, 5'4 and weigh 230lbs.) that due to my age, skin elasticity has a better chance of coming back to near normal - not fully. I am curious if certain workouts would help skin tighten back while losing weight?
  21. I'm with you guys!!! Day 1 completed liquid diet. June 27 is my date!
