Weight4Me got a reaction from EmScaDem in Skinny Bucket List
This list is great and I have so many of the same items on my list, but you have a few I'm going to add to my list now! We could seriously be friends! I wanted to mention that hot air ballooning is totally not a skinny girl thing to do. I went in October at 300+ (with my 300 lb husband) and floated over the world just the same. It was AMAZING and I can't wait to go back!!

If I remember right, I lost about another 65 lbs after my one year surgiversary, and it took me about 9 months to do it. It was hard work, particularly the last 20 lbs. I always say I had to do hand-to-hand combat with every one of those pounds. My rules were:
--weigh or measure virtually every portion and log it. No guesswork, no samples or nibbles.
--keep calories between 1000-1200 most days
--no grains, no sweets, no starchy vegetables
--exercise at least 30 minutes a day, 6 days a week. Walking and ordinary household chores do not count as exercise. It must be purposeful exercise that at least leaves me breathing hard.
--do not attempt to count calories burned or "eat back" exercise calories. Just do the exercise. (If you are using MFP, either don't record the exercise or record it and change the calories burned to 1).
--occasionally I would stall, and I would switch to a 5/2 eating program for 10 days and that would always break the stall.
    --weigh myself every day
Good luck! Weight loss does not stop unless you let it.

Well, here is someone who is half and half with the answer. I am glad I did it. I'm 2wks 2days and have lost 21 lbs. So I am happy. I have PCOS and Hashimotos Disease so losing is extremely difficult unless I have major calorie restriction as I do now. I exercise alot and ate fairly, well before. So, the part of me that questions this is the fact that I am hungry. If I still have to feel the hunger and calorie strict to this extreme, then what was the difference if I did that with or without this surgery. Eating 3 small 4oz. meals just isn't enough for me and I fear that the hunger will take control and bad decisions will be made thus without the surgery, I would be in the same boat. Hopefully, a s I continue this journey, I can stick to this calorie restriction better than I could before and in the end make this the best decision for me. On another note, it has already helped my .PCOS, cycle, and extreme Water retention. Overall, I FEEL GOOD!!!!

Most of us know the great success stories of the boards (Tiffykins, LilMissDiva, etc) but we couldn't have gotten such a clear snapshot of the first month or so timeline without this question being posted, so kudos to Karelia who had the intestinal fortitude to ask. This whole thread has been very enlightening.
I now have a much better idea of the kind of difficulty I will be facing for the first month or so. I am still going to go forward with the surgery, but in a weird way I feel better knowing that I will feel bad so I can prepare for it, if that makes any sense at all.
For those who are still struggling, I am sorry. For those who are not, congratulations!
Let us ALL hope to have success and comfort in our futures, regardless of approach.

Just thought I'd post a little update. June 5, I was at my heaviest 410 pounds. I felt like DEATH...literally. I had SEVERE sciatica which caused me to go onto disability after working for YEARS...I couldn't walk. I couldn't stand. I couldn't sit. All I could do is LAY THERE and cry because of the nerve pain down my left leg and lower back. It was either back surgery or weight loss surgery. Since I also HAD high blood pressure and PCOS plus VERY obese and the severe sciatica...I thought weight loss surgery would be my best bet. Plus, healing would be 2837739354928 times harder if I were to under go back surgery at my weight. Dr's told me over and over again that losing weight may or may not help my bulging disc which was in turn causing the sciatica but I went for it and just hoped for the best. Day of surgery 9/2, I was 367 pounds (I went on a damn strict diet) and today...I am 314!!! I am also BACK AT WORK with no more sciatica pain what-so-ever!!! I'm off all meds for high blood pressure and I'm feeling fanDAMNtastic!!!!! I love the way o feel and more so, I LOVE ME. I've never been one to post pics....but here we go. Not ready for the whole "body shot" because this girl is under construction but here goes nothin!!! Top picture is day before surgery...the collage pic on left is last month and on the right is yesterday! I drink 64oz+ Water each day...and always try to get 90g of protein...even if I finish my day with a premier protein!! Alot of you girls and guys on here don't know how many of us look forward and look up to your updates and advice...@Babbs...@Elode...@InnerSurferGirl...all 3 of u girls I look up to and I cannot wait to keep on keeping on. Thank You from the bottom of my heart!!! -Vanessa

I am just starting this journey and am finding my desire and excitmemt to be sleeved, growing each day. I am also finding that a lot of my relationship with food is incredibly mental. The first week after my initial Kaiser orentation my emotions swung like a pendulum at the thought of losing essentially my "best friend". So to combat morning the loss of food, I have decided to start a "Skinny List," a bucket list to fulfil missed opportunities. Mainly all of the things I haven't been able to do because of my weight or chose not to do because I was afraid of others judgement.
I am just curious if any others have a Skinny List, and what adventures are on it!?
