Is my incision infected?
dreamingsmall replied to Kristen117's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hi I had no drain and no staples, were yours are just surgical glue, so I do not know how its supposed to look, but maybe you could get an appointment at your regular doctors office to see if they can take a look? I know that would put my mind at ease if it were me. Hope you feel better soon. Edited because I said I had no staples but i have no idea about the inside haha just the outside -

I don't know if I am making the right decision
dreamingsmall replied to Knightsaber88's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
This is about YOU. Not your friend. She is being selfish thinking about losing a drinking buddy, rather than gaining a buddy with renewed health even if you have no health conditions your reducing your risk of some , maybe she will come around. I know its hard not to take others opinions on board, especially when its a mix of concern/love/fear of change from your love ones or whatever it may be. Regarding your parents, lucky you are an adult, so its not their choice, I understand they are concerned so perhaps give them some leaflets lol. But keep your mind focused , no one can say if this is right for you or not , but for me.. I I wish I had some advice, but I only told my mum as she is the only opinion I am concerned about. I was worried and scared on my own I did not want peoples opinions to cloud my choice. I have no regrets so far. My surgeon did not highlight the increased risk of cancer, so I will look into it . Thanks -
Surgery was the EASY part
dreamingsmall replied to Walter.Sobchak's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
You got this , it will get easier just keep thinking of the future and your plans etc, and healthimprovements , this helped me when i was feeling miserable on purees lol. I think it got easier when I moved onto solids. I felt more 'normal' -

Calm your hormones? That seems like a sexist, (if not out of line comment), I am not even involved in the discussion, but there really is no need for comments like that. It seems like you are the one that needs to calm things down Sir.

Chicken too early dangerous?
dreamingsmall replied to SippinAintEasy's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I understand Now I am on solids, I really realise the art of paitence, there really is no rush, you will get to the point of being able to eat some things and then no longer want it lol Take your time , you are in what I felt like was a superhuman phase, I had never gone that long without eating before lol. You are doing great. Keep going -
2 weeks out of surgery
dreamingsmall replied to mikey701's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
People are on different plans, some low carb some not. I was okay to have Bananas when on puree also. I have not had one yet. -
My next 'treat' is a new lace front wig. My bald butt needs a wig and some wig tape lol

Chicken too early dangerous?
dreamingsmall replied to SippinAintEasy's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Stick to your plan, It can not get simpler than that, no one would advice you to go against your plan. Different plans include different things, depending on the surgeon. You can not go wrong just doing what you are told, you made a mistake , its okay, but stick to your plan now you know its not on your plan "I tolerated it just fine" To be honest, I just tried to stick to the plan, because you do not know how your body is reacting sometimes till its too late, and the damage is done It does not signify your ready if your surgeon does not feel you are lol. -
Knowing when full
dreamingsmall replied to cakes0329's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I would burp , feel strange feelings in my tummy, and my chest would hurt if i went further, but I do not aim to feel full, i do not like that feeling, aslong as your eating 4 ounces and below not over for most plans , and when you move onto dense protein when on solids you will feel full, but your still healing also -

Dont eat more than 4 ounces, you will be fine. You are on puree, it will change when your on dense protein. -
How much can you eat in puréed stage?
dreamingsmall replied to lessoflilo's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
It doesnt matter if you feel you can eat more, do not eat more than whatever your dr told you , eg 4 ounces for most. You are still healing so may not feel full, you will learn what the signs are. I would burp etc and if i ate to much my chest would hurt lol -
Can't decide between Sleeve and By-Pass
dreamingsmall replied to Doo Lally's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
You have not really given any info on you self, it doesnt really matter what anyone else decided, you may have a whole different set of things to consider from the next person, your surgeon will have all your history and what you tell them to help you come up with the decision. But to answer your question anyway. I chose sleeve. Because I did not want malabsorption problems. I felt 85% of my tummy removed was enough of a tool for me . No history with any acid refux etc , so .. I dont know it was cheaper too , and less time in recovery, less time in surgery, so sleeve worked for me. -
What's your reason for your obesity
dreamingsmall replied to Siyaa Ela's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
It was like.. Food was always there, when I did not trust anyone else in this world. My food was always there and I did not have to worry it would run away because when it finished , I can just buy some more, I was in control of that, sometimes I did not even taste the food, I just put it in my mouth chew swollow and brought it straight back up. And moved on to the next food. It is hard thinking what a hard time that was and that I was like this to hide dealing with some things. Now I have had the surgery , it can not hide the things you need to deal with as the food is no longer shielding you from truths lol. -
What's your reason for your obesity
dreamingsmall replied to Siyaa Ela's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
I am obese, because I like eating. I suppose it formed a part of my self harm behavour from teenage years from trauma etc. But food tastes good too and I did not care about moderation. -

With it being genetics and hormones, nothing to do with eating too much how does a sleeve help, do the hormones change after you are sleeved? Or has it got something to do with your eating?
