Pre-op diet not as strict
dreamingsmall replied to BlueCrush's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Do it first. See if it's not harder than it looks. Temptation is an interesting thing. But keep us posted. To answer your question. Pre op diet varies. On the hospital. The surgeon. The weight of the individual .. health factors. But all are based on lower carb and calories to shrink the liver. My pre op diet was three meals low carb. I chose to go on another liquid diet to shrink my liver. I was not asked to lose weight. Just not gain. I lost anyway. Surgery was great. Liver good! -
Pre op Liquid diet SOOOO hard
dreamingsmall replied to Jayluv's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I feel sorry for you. If your boyfriend is this inconsiderate now. How hard will things be when your on the liquid diet.were cheating will risk a leak or extreme damage to your staple? Hmm. A conversation needs to be had for sure because there might be a reason he is subconsciously.. or not subconsciously.. trying to sabotage you. ( Only you will know which one it is. I'm not in the relationship) fear of change. You turning into something more confident and different while he remains the same..you can imagine what insecurities can breed on the back of that. But either way you need support now. And open communication is important.talk to him. -

Good luck everyone. I had my sleeve in July but here if anyone needs any extra support. -
If you don't start taking responsibility though... Your psych eval might not go as smoothly as you hope. What's your stats
-
First step is taking responsibility. Went to the gym never lost weight ? Then you were eating to much and not tracking or you wouldn't need this surgery . If you were gyming barely eating still not losing. An investigation would be under way not this surgery as an option. And yeah I'm not judging you my fatness happened And I thought it wouldn't work for me as I was fat despite dieting. The truth is I was eating nothing all day and crap in secret. It's not magic. But I thought it wouldn't work for me. And it is working. Be real with yourself. Realise we are all human make mistakes but we have to be committed. And know what mistakes we make and not blame other things for our weight. I've known people say there fatness is due to all kinds of external factors. Sure.. but the surgery worked for them.. with those external factors still there. Go figure. Good luck.

What you wish you'd known before having weight loss surgery
dreamingsmall replied to UndercoverDiet's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I can understand that. Pissed off. Irritatable. Crying lol. All of it. Now the weight is falling off I don't care what cons I'm dealing with lol -
Having this surgery causes alot of anxiety for alot of us. Me being one of them. So I wasn't asking in an offensive way. But I wanted to help you.. if that was the case. We just want to do everything right. So for me alot of 'silly stuff' made me anxious. But it's important we are aware so we don't get carried away. But valid question

Are you dealing with anxiety?

What you wish you'd known before having weight loss surgery
dreamingsmall replied to UndercoverDiet's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Just know that the first few weeks you can feel depressed and miserable on the pureed diet. Not everyone experiences this but it's common. You think there is no light at the end of the rainbow.. then you move into normal food phase and your loving it !! No regrets! -
Does anyone feel slimmer but scale makes them feel fat?
dreamingsmall posted a topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
It's a really odd question. Recently I've been feeling more confident in my self. When usually I never think I look good. I've gone from a UK size 22 to a 14 ( I don't like tight fitted) and people are acting different around me. You know.. people tell you people change. So sure it's a confidence boost. All the compliments.. But then I get on the scale. And I'm 190lbs. I've never been 190lbs before from 250ish so it feels like I'm doing good. But now I realise in the whole scheme of things I'm still pretty big compared to other people lol its a shame so I feel self conscious again.. My mind still feels like a fatty. ( No offense id only call myself that. Everyone else is lovely know matter what size. )It's just in myself and how my body feels I feel so different! It's odd Does anyone get it lol? -

Weight loss has stopped [emoji33] goal realistic?
dreamingsmall replied to am3ie's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
So lovely that you have a supportive husband. Don't feel bad for not being able to help because you know youd do the same if the tables were reversed and he needed support . Very sweet. And wow ! No high blood pressure at 300+ amazing mine went straight to malignant hypertension at 220+ I almost lost my sight ended up in the hospital and I couldn't see. Terrible now I'm lighter it's gone. Sorry to hear about the bad surgeon . Gosh two months in hospital what a nightmare. I just spent almost a month there and I could have strangled someone it made me so aggravated those four walls as I was in a side room on my own felt like I was in prison. And good your staying positive that must help -
Does anyone feel slimmer but scale makes them feel fat?
dreamingsmall replied to dreamingsmall's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
I bet you look amazing !! What a difference from your start weight. You have done amazing. I'm glad what I said make sense. Because I used to hate what I saw in the mirror now I'm like.. hmm not bad lol. Perhaps when we get to goal we will be able to be happy with our body and the scale . But I bet when I get to goal Il dislike my body again due to extra skin lol. -
I Am About To Make A Year And I Feel Like A Failure
dreamingsmall replied to angeliquita's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hey how are you doing ? My hw was 250. 244 when I saw my surgeon and now 4 months that later 190lbs. You have lost alot. But if I'm honest I won't be happy either. But the reality is that is alot of weight loss. So be proud. You say you eat decent. But what is daily eating like. Maybe someone may have suggestions of what you can remove or include to move things along. -
Eating too much after surgery ..no dumping scared!
dreamingsmall replied to fluffybless's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Why are you already trying to eat more ? I think you need counselling these surgery are not miracle workers. You need to follow the plan. -
False scale readings?
dreamingsmall replied to mrsroyale's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Weigh once a week or even once every 2 weeks if you can stand the long weight. Much more satisfying. Much less stressfull. I know people who weigh everyday to get an average. But if gains will worry you don't put yourself through it. The gains balance themselves out and if you weigh less you may miss them. You may have just had a little fluid on-board. Keep going I can't wait to get to 180s! Go girl!
