I've been hearing alot about this D Switch surgery. I had gastric bypass, and was just wondering what the difference is. When I went to my Dr. It was between the bypass or the sleeve. The switch was not even mentioned. Never heard about it until after my September 18, 2017 surgery. What is the difference?

I have type 2 diabetes. So when it came down to it, I chose gastric bypass. Sw 248, cw 183, goal 150-160. My surgery date was September 18,2017. So glad I went this route. No longer on diabetic medicine.. yippee. It's a tough decision, but I am glad of the one I made.

Thanks Tatt, my mother died from diabetes, it's really a awful disease. I know she's looking down at me, smiling.

That is so right. When I wasn't eating, I my weight loss was slower then it is now that I'm eating more. It's so hard to believe, but the same thing happened to me. When I wasn't eating, I wasn't going to the bathroom regularly, now I'm going more, eating more and feeling so much better.

Hi, my surgery was on September 18th. I'm doing pretty good. I started at 259, surgery weight was 247, I'm at 185 now. Things are going slower. I was exercising more before the weather changed, so hopefully I will get back into it more soon. I was type 2 diabetic, and they took me off all meds for that. I am so grateful for that more then anything. How are you doing?. My goal is 150-160.

I feel the same way. I'm six weeks in gastric bypass, and still feel nauseated when I eat. I'm able to drink a little more, and eat a little more but still feel sick. My doctor said this will pass, nothing seems wrong, it's just everyone's so different. So I will struggle a few more weeks and hope it goes away soon.

I went in for hernia repair at same time as bypass surgery. They found 5 hernias they had to repair. Still in pain. It's my 18th day post opt. So I'm still recovering. I'm one of those people that are saying what did I do?. Hopefully everything will be fine down the road.

Thank you, hope that's what happens to me.

I hope your doing better. I could even think of eating that three weeks out. I had the bypass. The first solid food I had was about a month out, and that was a few bites of a boiled egg, it was way too soon. Good luck.
