After you have met all of your requirements to submit authorization to your insurance carrier is usually when your surgery date is set. As soon as my surgeon's nurse submitted the paperwork for the authorization she gave me a surgery date which was about a month from the time she submitted the authorization to the insurance. I will be having surgery on August 24th. I am still waiting for the approval from the insurance company. It has only been a week since it was submitted. I told my employer a month before the surgery because I have to fill out FMLA paper work for the time off. Hope that helps you with your questions.

I was just writing in my journal and I was actually writing about how scared I was that I wouldn't lose the weight that I would be the exception. I am more scared of that then having an actual surgery. My surgery date is August 24th. Good luck.

It has become so funny to me to think that I am not scared about this surgery. I am not even really sure why. I am the type of person who is afraid of everything and always thinks about the worst scenario possible instead of the best. But when I think about my surgery I have no fears about the procedure. I have studied and read up about the procedure and what it entails. I know that I can be committed to the after surgery lifestyle. I just feel like I cannot keep feeling tired and wore out every day when I wake up before I have even done anything. I am putting a lot of hope into this surgery that it will change me life for the better and I am sure that hope is what keeps me from being scared. I think you should go to therapy if you believe it will benefit you. Sometimes talking through your issues with an impartial stranger really helps. I also think yoga is an amazing idea. Yoga is something I have always wanted to do but felt like it would be to uncomfortable for me to do. so I am looking forward to trying it after surgery. Good luck on your journey.

Is it going to be your last diet class? I have my last diet class on July 27th but I am scheduled for my pre-op teaching class tomorrow. I don't have a set surgery date right now. My tentative date is August 21st. I still have to wait for my insurance to give the approval. I am scheduled to see the surgeon for a final time on August 16th. I also saw an appointment was scheduled for my pre-admission call on August 17th. So I am hoping this means I am on track for surgery next month. The liquid diet starts usually two weeks before your surgery date. Hope that helps.

I have a surgery date of August 21st. I am not really nervous about this surgery. I just can't wait to get it done so I can start losing the weight and keep it off. All of the appointments that I have to get done are a bit overwhelming. I have appointments next week for my cardiac clearance, my breath test, the nutritionist, and psych eval. It will be a busy week thats for sure.

I am also new here. I have cigna insurance and I had my consultation 2 weeks ago. I found out that if you have been on a Doctor supervised weightloss program for three months you can bypass the 6 month wait. I am meeting with the surgeon this week. I will also be doing my psych eval and cardiac clearance this week as well. I almost feel like it is happening too fast. I have a tentative surgery date for August 21st.
