  1. I'm having the Roux-en-y surgery. I've been doing my liquid diet for 10 days now and I think this has been the hardest part so far. Just because I know I can still have food without making myself sick but my mind is totally ready for this to happen. I'm excited for it to happen but I wish it were a month post op already haha. I'll get there though.

    Highest Weight: 366
    Start Weight: 355
    Current Weight: 301
    Goal Weight: 220

  2. I'm on day 8 of 14 right now. I haven't cheated at all yet. The 2 and 3 day were like torture, but on the 4th day something clicked and I didn't fee hungry anymore. I've cut about 10lbs so far this week and feel fine. I was nervous that it would be hell just getting to the surgery and couldn't imagine how it would be once I made it and had to wait even longer to eat anything. So for now I'm in good spirits and just waiting for July 6 to get this party started.

  3. I'm in the thick of it BMC blogger. In the middle of day 4 of 14 haha it feels like its never gonna end. In my opinion I'll be super hungry and have a Protein Shake and for about 30 min I'll be satisfied and then about an hour later I'll be hungry again. It sucks but in my mind I would rather be feeling like crap right now before my surgery rather than having to deal with this on top of my surgery.

I feel like I'm laying the foundation for the next month where I'm not going to do anything but a liquid diet so that in 10 days when my surgery comes around I'll be somewhat used to this diet and I'll have a better chance for success post op. That's just the way my mind works.

But to answer your question with the short answer, the hurdle is both. It's mental in the fact that you want to EAT something, and also physical because you are hungry for food which is normal but your body just isn't used to getting nutrition in this form. If that makes any sense. I'm not an expert I can only speak on the way I feel lol I hope it helps

  4. I need to drink more Water I think that's what it is. I'm steadily losing weight every day even though I drink 4-5 shakes a day, I have been doing my hour of cardio and lifting every day which is helping i think. I'm struggling with the liquid diet but still haven't cheated. I got some sugar free Jello which never tasted so good lol. Right next to it was some sugar free jello parfait which I wanted to get but I wasn't sure if it was allowed. Same calories, same 0 sugars etc but I wanted to stay cautious and not buy it.

  5. You know I think I read your post a few days ago where you said the BgR72. In all honesty I thought his diet wouldn't be too bad but it sucks so much I'm going crazy and I'm only on day 3!

I'm sitting here jealous that some people don't have to do this diet before surgery and I'm like wishing I was them, then I realize that there are others who are even more restricted than me!

Idk if you are looking for advice or not but I thought I would tell you something that I did a few days prior to my liquid diet is I tapered down on eating until I was eating very little so I was used to being hungry before the liquid Diet started.

In theory I think it worked in easing my transition but also I'm still hungry enough to eat my foot so idk how well it worked in the long run haha.

  6. Pre op visit went well. Got all of the information I needed, also got a few samples of Protein Powder even though I'm pretty much set on the Premier Protein bottles I hope my taste buds stay the same in that sense. Almost done with day 2 of the liquid diet and holding strong, I'm pretty sure these next few days will be the worst of it. Just wish I could fast forward these next 2 weeks! It's all good though, I'm in high spirits.

  7. What's up guys just throwing it out there that I'm 2 weeks away from my date finally since working towards it since my August '16 seminar. I know everyone's doctors do it a little different but I'm just trying to get the consensus for what you all think my diet is since my paperwork got ruined a while back and I don't get my new one until tomorrow at my pre op appointment.

Obviously I know it's no solid food but I should be drinking Protein Shakes, broth, sugar free popcicles and Jello right? I'm doing good on my diet, I'm steadily losing weight here's an update.

  8. Reggie White is my Idol. I played O and D line my whole life so I guess that's why. I'm a Military brat but never ended up in PA. Been in CA more than 1/2 my life and I could watch maybe 2 games a year if I was lucky. I'm in VA now so it's a lot easier to be a fan. But thanks again for your reply. Those 2lbs are gone every day after I go to the gym but after I drink Water it comes back every time so i just gotta keep doing the cardio I do over an hour every day. It gets so boring but Atleast I can watch Netflix while putting the miles in.

  9. Thanks for all the replies guys it helps a lot to know there's more out there on their journey like me.

Crocodoxie I've never lived in Philly area just the biggest Eagles fan ever lol.

I really need to check out these secret pages maybe they will benefit me after all. 6 weeks seems like such a long time not to be active though before I can go back to work but I'd rather be 100% then be at 50% and NEED to be at 100%
