Everything went great. I came home from the hospital yesterday afternoon. All I can say is gas pains are NO joke! And I'm definitely out of breath and drained of energy super fast, just walking to the bathroom I lose my breath. But I'm on this journey to a healthier, happier Me. 10. Hi all! So I finally had my surgery consult the other day and I left feeling much less happy than when I went in. Now this was my first one on one with the surgeon and I don't know if it's just me over reacting to his words or not. I am a 32 year old female, I'm 5'7" and currently weigh 285lbs. In all the research I've done it seems that for my hight, a healthy weight should be between 121 and 158. So based off of that in my mind my goal weight is 135lbs. Just mid range. Well in my appointment he asked me my goal and when I answered him he looked at me kinda funny and said "that's not realistic, realistic is to you you just below 200lbs" Now I understand this surgery isn't going to do it all on its own but if I put the work in, why is it so unrealistic to lose exactly 150lbs? Thanks! And I know all of that makes complete sense I just still have the voice in the back of my mind that reminds me of so the people on here who lose that much and my doctor just made me feel like it's not even possible. Anything less than where I am now is healthier and I just need to keep that in mind Sent from my Pixel using BariatricPal mobile app

From what my dietitian told me as long as you are at least 1 lb under what you started at with your 6-month Wayans it should be approved unless the dietitian doesn't think you're trying very hard it's going to all be up to what the dietitian rights in the letter and that's coming from my dietitian Sent from my Pixel using BariatricPal mobile app

  18. So although I've started this journey about 9 months ago with all the weigh ins and what not, two days ago I finally went and had my pre blood work and chest x-ray done. It's amazing how those two things made this seem so much more real. I have my EKG in two weeks and my surgery consult on September 11th. I'm beyond excited to be on this life changing journey Sent from my Pixel using BariatricPal mobile app

  21. Hi all, so I have one month left with the dietician before I can see the surgeon and although I have drastically cut back on smoking cigarettes, I still find myself smoking a few when I stress on daily life things. Has anyone else had this problem and does anyone know if it will have any effects on my surgery itself? My goal is always to quit and I have gone from a pack a day to maybe 5 cigarettes for the whole week Sent from my Pixel using BariatricPal mobile app
  22. Hey so I have a quick question I want to put this out there I'm wondering from the point of the first sit-down with the surgeon how long did it take before most of you got a date for surgery? And how far out is the surgery usually? Sent from my Pixel using BariatricPal mobile app

    Surgery date wait time

So is that for the dietician and all that? Because my doctor is actually the one who put talked me into the surgery because I have A LOT of back problems, I'm only 32 and he says I have the back of an 80 year old and obviously the extra weight does not help. When he originally sent it to the insurance for approval they denied it and gave me a list of things to do such as the dietician for six months, a psych eval, blood work, and the informational classes.... I'm happy to say I've done it all other than my last weigh in with the dietician tomorrow morning and then I go back to my Dr next week so he can resubmit everything to the insurance Sent from my Pixel using BariatricPal mobile app
