  1. I'm a tad confused about the puréed diet and would appreciate any advice. My diet calls for 3 oz meals 3 times a day. Ok, this leaves me feeling hungry, weak, and lethargic. My NUT's solution was to just keep it going (so disappointed in her 'advice.'). NF Greek yogurt, tomatoe and split pea Soup, and applesauce were items that I was able to eat when on my full liquid diet. So my question is this: Can I still have those aforementioned full liquid items in addition to my 3oz/3 times a day?

  3. I have prime west. I really do think the pre-approval process in individual specific. I had my initial consult around the same time I had to have a total hysterectomy so it did take a little longer for me. My OB/GYN had to clear me. Once cleared, and all other pre op stuff was done, my surgeon's office sent it off and less than a week later, I was approved. I did not do any weight loss program before.

I was full liquids on week two which included, Protein Shakes, yogurt, Jello, Soup broth, basically anything of a liquid consistency. I ate three times a day plus 2 Snacks. Keep in mind you should also still be sipping all day to get your 64oz of fluids in. For me everything consumed counted towards the 64oz since it was all liquids. I hope this helps.

Yes, it helps...thank you. So, were each of your meals AND Snacks 1/3 cup? Did you worry about stop and resume drinking 30 minutes before and after each time you ate?

  5. I am a 48 year old retired vet, married, and working on my second career. My surgery date is tomorrow (5/31/17). I have so many mixed emotions right now, but mostly very excited! Let the journey begin!!! I always thought it was ridiculous when people use the word 'journey.' Anyway..

I started this journey (dang, there I go again!) about a year ago but got delayed due to a lil bit of cancer. But, had it not been for that, I would be months post-op by now. The process was easy, as was dealing with Tricare. The only delay was that stupid cancer! Once I was cleared for WLS surgery by all my docs my surgeon's staff sent off to Tricare and I was approved and scheduled for surgery within the week!

So, here I am now. I am concerned about how I will be feeling post-op, but focus how I will be feeling once I get rid of this extra person I've been dragging around. I want to lose 108 pounds. I look forward to doing things I used to do like...tying my own damned shoes!

My husband of seven years is super supportive and is looking forward to my surgery as well...since we have been married, he has put on a little bit of weight; I am a dang good cook. He's one of 'those' people who can drop weight just thinking about it! But, he looks forward to me not cooking as I normally do so he can drop his extra weight. I LOVE food and enjoy cooking; which is also one of the things I will miss. I think I will still cook; I will miss eating it. I just need to focus on cooking the healthy crap...I mean, food! :).

I am confident in my ability to lose this person (we'll call her Shelly) and can't wait until 0530, 5/31/17!!!
