I’m stalled too! I’m down 19lbs since surgery and have been stuck here for a week. Super annoying.

One thing that I lost as I gained weight was the ability to have self expression through my fashion choices. I can’t wait to walk into any store and be able to find clothes that fit. I’m only a little over a month out of surgery, so the weight is only beginning to fall off. I’m already excited to be able to wear things that are “me” rather than choose from the few available options.

My surgeon said it doesn’t matter how long you wait, but you should lose the weight first because the main consequence may be a negative effect of weight loss, not on the pregnancy. So lose the weight, then get pregnant, it’s not necessarily a specific timeline.

Don’t worry about not losing weight right now... that seems to be very common. I didn’t lose any weight at your stage but I’ve lost over 27 pounds now, and 4.5 just in the last 3 days. It freaked me out too, then I posted here and a lot people said it is common.

I’m not sure how long ago your surgery was, but I was surprised by my level of hunger, too. If you’re on liquids, that’s probably the reason. My surgeon said liquids aren’t going to “fill you up” like food will. Now that I’m 6 weeks out, I’m not as hungry as I was.

Obviously, the surgery is the biggest part of the weight loss...no way could I have done it without being sleeved. I REALLY followed my nutrition plan, religiously, for the first year. No 'cheating' or whatever you want to call it...I buckled down and did my program. I pushed Protein like crazy that first year, and ate very few carbs. I lost mostly body fat and not much of my muscle due to eating that way. I was very lucky, having the surgery put my fibromyalgia, early arthritis and psoriasis into remission; it also lowered my blood pressure so much that I left the hospital off all meds. Those changes in my inflammatory pain made it so much easier for me to exercise, which in turn made the weight loss go faster. I lost about 50 lbs in the first 3 months, 25-ish the next 3 months and the remainder of my loss was slow and over the rest of that first year. I only exercise moderately, I'm just much more active than I was at 262. My fitness level is much better; for example, we just went to Alaska and I was able to hike over 15 miles a day for days on end, without any preparation.

Now I'm moving into the time when my restriction has eased up a bit and my stomach is more tolerant of foods. I had quit tracking and have been just eyeballing portions, and I gained 4 pounds on my 2 week vacation. We drank beer or wine daily, and I had dessert several times, so the gain wasn't a surprise but it did remind me that I have to put in the effort to track, watch my alcohol intake closely and skip Desserts. I've already lost 2 of the 4 I gained, which is a relief. It's a life long effort, aided by the restriction of my sleeve, not a miracle cure...and it's the best thing I've ever done for myself <3

Thank you for all the details! You’ve done so great, congratulations!

I had surgery on May 2nd and today marks 6 weeks. I’ve lost a little over 30 pounds since surgery and over 50 since November when I had my first appointment and started the process.

It’s gone by both so fast and so slowly.

I’m sick of Protein Drinks, and I just haven’t fallen into the right routine.

I wake up and I miss my coffee routine but I’m proud of myself for stopping. I pour a glass of ice Water and get to work (I work from home).
Sometimes I have a Protein Shake, sometimes I have a smoothie with Protein, but it’s never on the same schedule. Some days I feel hungry enough to think about have a snack/lunch and then the day passes and I have something for dinner.
I haven’t been tracking my meals. I haven’t even been measuring my food, except to eyeball the size and I pay attention to how I feel and eat slowly with lots of chewing. I often only get a few bites in.

I remember an instructor in my Kaiser Option course saying she didn’t understand why people call after surgery and say “what should I be eating?” Because we have 12 classes and a binder of information by the end of it... but I feel like the info they gave us doesn’t have the exact post surgery diet info I’m looking for, and I really do think to myself, “what should I be eating?!” And Why can’t I remember what I’m supposed to do now?

I haven’t been great about Vitamins because they make me nauseous.

I’m often tired or lack energy.

I just feel like I did this major thing by getting surgery, and I want to do it right, but I’m having a hard time implementing a structure and new sense of control, I guess.

Is this relatable to anyone? Any advice on how to feel like I’m taking better control and feeling more empowered?

I stopped the pain meds after a couple days of being home, they were giving me such bad Constipation. That is pretty funny though. Last night, I followed Alec Baldwin and his family around and I was trying to give him my number on a business card but everytime I went to write my phone number, I would write it wrong. I eventually got in their SUV and drove home with them with a coffee pot on my lap as a present for them and still couldn't get my number right... Lol

I started at 262, got down to about 153. Now I'm 2 years out and sit at about 160. It's very doable.

I weighed myself yesterday, and have lost 23 pounds since surgery on 5/2. Of course, I wish it were more but I marks 50 lbs lost since I started the classes to prep for surgery in November, and over half a pound per day. I have never lost this much weight before!
I am still in the same pant size I was wearing 50 pounds ago, but they are starting to feel a bit bigger, but still nothing substantial. It is amazing that I can lose this much weight and not feel a HUGE difference.

I'm doing ok with my BNMulti Australian bariatric Multivitamin capsules (can't stand the taste of the chewables) but I do make sure to have them with solids at Breakfast and dinner. I also use their chewable (much nicer tasting) Calcium and Vitamin D tablets 2-3 times a day, plus Biotin and Iron supplements.

My surgery date was May 4th - I'm 5 weeks out and lost 20 lbs since surgery. I feel great but I really thought it would be more by now .I haven't lost anything for about 2 weeks now and I don't want to get discouraged and I'm having a hard time trying to decide what to eat .

I had surgery at 239- I only did the liquids pre op for 4 days- in 5’9 ( on a good day). I lost 10lbs before but I count them since it was a short time frame- I had bypass on March 26th- I’m currently 188lbs! Don’t think you won’t lose- you will! My body has done a complete 180 and knows what I can eat and how much! Trust me- it happens! My goal is 160lbs but would’ve happy at 145! Just came back from vacation in the Bahamas- I felt great in a swimsuit and didn’t get worn out from all the walking we did!

I’m not at exactly 100 lbs yet but I started at 256.4 on the day of surgery. I’m 6.5 months out and have lost 99.2 lbs so far just from surgery. I’ve got another 30 lbs I’d like to lose before I hit my 1 year out.
