  1. Kaiser won’t even do bands anymore! They only fix and reverse them, and change to a sleeve or RNY. I’m not sure why anyone would get a band at this point, with how many issues people have had with them, and the weight loss usually isn’t as much as the other options.
  2. You look great! When was your surgery?
  3. That’s great! Have you been active? What do you attribute your success to? Any tips? I’d love to lose at that rate to meet my first 2 month goal Do you mind if I ask what your surgery weight was? Thanks!
  4. I’m 5/2!! Eeek! Our dates are coming! I’m trying to stay excited more than anxious, but I’m all over the place, really!
  5. Hi Frustr8, You mentioned you may get sleepy after they put the IV in, is that because they give you a medicine that calms you? I was given a Valium (or something) before I had jaw surgery, but there’s been no mention of anything like that for this surgery, though I would definitely take something to calm my nerves if they offer!
  6. Me too!! Twinsies [emoji133]‍♀️
  7. He wanted you to gain weight? Huh? [emoji23] thats so confusing! I wish my Dr told me that! Haha! Do you by chance have Kaiser? I’m wondering if it’s common for Kaiser patients not to do the pre op diet. How has it been since surgery? Any advice? Thanks!
  8. Hi Christen! I feel the exact same way you do! I could have written your post! I’m not on a pre-surgery diet either (kaiser), which surprised me... just liquid the day before. My surgery is 5/2, so a couple days after yours. It’s been such a long journey and now that it’s here I go back and forth between being super anxious, emotional, excited, etc.
  9. I’m May 2nd! How are you feeling as the day approaches?
  10. That’s all so great! Thank you! What are some of your favorite meals? Are you food journaling?

  13. Thank you so much for taking the time to respond, and I love your logical and positive attitude. How long ago did you get sleeved? If it’s been long enough, how long did it take for life to seem to get “back to normal”
  14. Id love to hear how they said the process will go. I’m scheduled for May 2, and I find myself playing through how I guess it will go.
  15. Congratulations on being on the other side of surgery!
  16. 14 pounds is such a great loss! I’m proud of you! I’m curious about what to expect with weight loss, do you mind sharing your pre surgery weight?
  17. My VSGsurgery is set for 5/2/18, and I’ve gone from totally freaking out for the first few days after it was scheduled (just a week ago, so it’s coming up quick!), to being calmer, with moments of fretting and pushing it out of my mind. I’m afraid of the surgery, and that is the first big step, then when I think about how life will change it scares me too! POST- surgery friends, tell me how it’s gone for you? Your life is better, RIGHT? The sacrifices are worth it, right? What would you have wanted to hear when you were in my shoes? Thank you!
  18. How long ago did you have your surgery?
  19. How much weight did you lose in your first few months? What was your original weight? I’m curious what rates of weight loss people have experienced. Thanks!
  20. Hey! Our height and weight is practically the same! My surgery is the 2nd, if you want to be buds!
