Hi! Did you have surgery for loose skin? How’s it going now?

Hi girlfriends, I’m in the pre sleeve phase, going through the Kaiser options course. I’m 31 years old and 280lbs. I want to have the surgery for many reasons, but one is the be a healthy mother. (I have no children now). Tell me everything about pregnancy after surgery. I wish I didn’t have to wait the 18 months post surgery, but that’s what the doctors tell me. Are C-sections more prevalent? Thanks!

Not me, but my mom is 10 years out and hasn’t had any problems like these.

How common is having a drain? I’ve never heard of anyone getting on for this surgery.

Did you have the sleeve?

Did you go thru a program pre-op? For example, I have kaiser and I’m going through a 12 week class. We are learning a lot about nutrition and what to eat. I can send you some pictures of the meal plans if you need inspiration. Or is it that nothing sounds good?

I think all of those fears are normal. I have them too, mostly that I will gain the weight back someday and I worry about loose skin. Do you know anyone who has had the surgery? I think It helps to talk to someone who has had it if you can.

I am going through Kaiser’s Options class now, and they told us the liquid diet is not part of the required program.

I just got my referral yesterday and will have my first orientation tomorrow in Fontana Ca. I didn’t wait for them to call me, I called today and I’m glad I did. They were able to get me in to tomorrow’s class, rather than waiting over a month!
