I had vsg 4/4 and my first 24hrs of recovery was miserable! The nausea and dry heaving were horrible and i couldnt get comfortable. I am now 5 days post op and things are much better. Just a little sore and tender. Biggest struggle now is getting Protein in[emoji21]🤢 which makes me want to vomit. Good luck and congrats!

Hi BrandiJo,
I received my referral to the surgeon yesterday. My first appointment with the surgeon is 8/9. Because of insurance requirements, my doctor supervised weight loss program has to be in effect for six months before surgery can be scheduled.
My husband is a great support since he just had the surgery in April. He is doing well so far and has no regrets. He is totally onboard with my decision to get sleeved too. I can relate to your SO's concerns tho. We have had several discussions about how we will handle any increased attention from others as our weight drops. Keeping communication open, honest, with a good sense of humor has worked wonders! [emoji3]
Wishing you the best of luck! Hope to follow your journey as it goes along.
Yay!! Can't wait to see updates from you!! And thank you for the advice!

I have officially started my vsg journey! Anyone else at this stage? And a couple other questions how is your support system? How is your significant other handling it? I ask because mine says he's supportive but has concerns about after surgery...like if I lose a bunch of weight I will leave him if I start getting attention from other people.

I am actually at my first appt today. My insurance requires a 6 month pre-op requirement and I'll also have to see a dietitian once a month for the 6 months and see a physical therapist and a psychologist. I'm looking at December or January for my surgery.

I have my first appt June 5th with my surgeon and a dietician. Due to insurance I have to see a dietitian once a month for 6 months prior to surgery. I am looking for someone who is at the same stage as me and would like to exchange info for info, experience, rants or whatever since family and friends may not know or may be to judgemental. Have a good day!

Why do you need to lose 8lbs? During the 6 month process did you have to lose a certain amount of weight in order to get surgery?

If you click on my profile, I have a before picture made 3 days before I began my six month pre-op diet program. My current profile picture was taken last Friday. (The "after" picture in my profile was about 28 pounds ago. I have no idea how to change it and I given up trying to figure out how to...)
Hmmm it will only let me see the one..
