    What a bitter pill...

My doc said anything the size of a Tylenol pill and smaller can go down. Otherwise, I just cut the pills in half and don't need to crush them. Good luck!

Two years out and 3 pounds from goal!

That is awesome! I can't wait to get good restriction! I am very active, but I love to eat and at this point I can still eat whatever I want. I can't wait to not be ruled by food!

Do you keep your 'fat' clothes?

I will admit that I have a shopping problem, so I love getting rid of my clothes and getting new ones! I haven't bought too may smaller sized clothing yet because I want to keep motivating myself to buy new smaller clothes. My goal is to be able to shop in a "normal" store! I will admit that it is hard getting rid of the larger sizes thinking that I will just gain the weight back and need them again. It has been that way my whole life. I can't wait to get to a small and steady size!
  4. So, I've been in bandster hell since the beginning of January. I can pretty much eat anything that I want. I was doing fine the first few weeks, but I have been stressed lately and have been using that as an excuse to eat whatever I want. I'm not eating as much as I used to and haven't gained any weight, but haven't lost any either. I think that my main saving grace is that I work out a lot. I can't get my third fill until March 6 as I can only get them every 6 weeks and due to the doc's schedule and my vacation that is the only time I can go. So, I feel like I am stuck until then. I have even been avoiding the boards and writing down what I eat. I know that I do this when I feel like I have failed at my diet and don't want to think about it. So, I'm taking the first step to get back on track, writing on here. I am also going to start writing down everything that I eat and go from there. I don't want not being restricted to be my excuse for a free for all. I just wanted to post my little confession... Thanks for listening!

Thinking of surgery? Scared? Read my story....

Thank you sooooooooo much for posting this! I am in Bandster Hell right now and have been really discouraged and can't get another fill for 2 weeks so it is all willpower right now. You are an inspiration! :blushing:
  6. Congratulations! Thanks for sharing...I love hearing good news like that!
  7. So, I had a bad second fill experience. I'm over it now, but have no restriction at all. Can't get my third fill until the first week of March. Here are some things I'm thinking of doing to get through this and still lose some weight. Any other suggestions are GREATLY appreciated! 1. I am planning healthy dinners for this week so I don't just do carry out and get something unhealthy. 2. I'm going to add an extra day of working out. 3. I am not going to eat after 8pm. 4. No more munching on snacks at work. I'm going to bring hot tea and have that instead.

    Suggestions for Bandster Hell...

My doc says the max you can get fills is every six week, which seems like a lot of docs do...I guess to make sure the fill settles in and you don't get overfilled? Not sure, but it is hard to wait!
  9. I was eating my dinner tonight and clearly didn't chew the chicken enough, got that stuck feeling. Then, had a lot of slime come up and eventually gagged up the chicken and some other stuff. Then, a few minutes later did the same thing. The feeling was more one of vomiting, but there was no bile or anything. Just curious if this really is vomiting or PBing?

    PB or Throwing Up?

Yeah, it felt more like throwing up. I think I was overly hungry and got carried away. Usually I'm good about really chewing the chicken up. Lesson learned!

    Feeling discouraged, depressed...etc.

From what I hear, this is the bandster hell part of it. I was banded 10/14/08 and am at a standstill until my next fill. I was steadily losing, but now I feel like I can eat anything I want. I try my best, but it is a struggle every day to not go back to my old ways. If you are able, sounds like it is time for a fill. I have 3 more weeks until I can get one. Good luck!

    Coughing

I had surgery a week ago and am feeling a ton better, but last night into today I've developed a nagging, itchy cough. It could be allergies, but it hurts a ton to cough. My Mom thinks I shouldn't take any cough meds, but I think that it is worse to cough so hard and possibly disrupt something inside. Any thoughts? Or cough meds suggestions that are good post lap band?

    Confession...

Ok, so I had been really good about snacking and not overdoing it on any foods. That is until this past week. I've been eating peanut butter by the spoonfuls and adding some chocolate chips ( I never eat chocolate!) on top. I am throwing the PB and the chocolate chips away NOW and stopping this naughtiness. I don't know what happened. I think I got upset about the debacle of my second fill and things just did a downward spiral from there. No excuse, so I'm cleaning up my act! Thought that putting it in writing will make me stick to it!

    Try try again...

Good luck to you! I hope that they are able to help you. Maybe you just need a fill? Or to see the nutritionist to get back on track? Are you able to work out? That usually gets the metabolism going. Hope it works out for you...

    Last hurrah or start early?

I had every intention of starting early, but I did kind of a fairwell to foods. I gained weight instead of lost. It would have been much healthier for me to have started my work prior to surgery and my liver would have been smaller. I was lucky that they didn't stop my surgery because it was so fatty, that has happened to some!

    Do you miss fast food?

I wasn't a super big fast food eater. You will just have to see what you can eat after fills, etc. Wendy's chili you can almost always do. The grilled chicken sandwiches might be fine for you. It all depends! You definitely want to avoid the higher fat foods that the fast food places have.

    Confession...

Thankfully I live alone, so I only have what I bring in. The snacks at work are hard though. I'm sure having a hubbie who brings in food is tough!

    has this happend to anyone??????

I'm so sorry that that happened to you. I thought that if there was any sign of fever or illness that they cancel surgeries. With one of my back surgeries I just had a sniffle and they cancelled it. I hope you feel better soon!

    Protein Bars

My nutritionist recommended the South Beach Meal replacement bars, not the cereal bars. They are located in the pharmacy dept at my grocery store for some reason, but they are really good and make me feel like I'm getting a treat while I get my protein in.

    baltimore area?

This is true...but, my insurance wouldn't pay for it either way, so it was my only option. Well worth it!

    baltimore area?

Good luck! Dr. Averbach did a great job! Since I am self pay, I didn't have to do the pre-op diet, wishing you all the best!

Why did my feet get smaller?

Is it just that they got less wide and you can now wear your "real" size, not just one that fits the width? That's what I'm hoping happens because I have really wide feet!

Traumatic First Fill Experience & Need Some Advice!

How long did it take to recover from moving the port? I'm paranoid that mine is flipped because he couldn't find it last time even though he claims it was only scarring. Just want to be prepared!

    Wii Fit Parody

That's too funny! I just got Wii fit, but definitely not to work out with, just for fun!

    Full liquids and protein?

I hated protein shakes, still do! What I did was get some unflavored Unjury protein powder and just made soup and added it to that so I didn't have to do the shakes. You can also make really runny oatmeal and add it to that. It avoids the nasty shake situation!
