  1. hmm I dunno.. I know we talked about that last winter, I want to say to stay away from it.. Have you ever tried Tylenol cold and flu? that works for me also get some zycam, my doctor even recommends Zycam he says him and his wife both use it and notice a big difference.. Im trying to get a cold also so I have been hitting the zycam, tylenol and breathing treatments... Like I said, me personally would say no about it, but maybe call Jeannie and see what her thoughts are on it. Hope you get feeling better

  2. We have support group tonight at 6.. As for the mushies, sounds like that would be fine just be careful make sure it is good and soft.. is the the puree stage or the soft? puree, just make sure it is good and blended, you could feed it to a baby. Be careful, dont push it and enjoy :blushing:

  3. I wonder if now that things are moving, if you should start up on lactulose again. See what Jeannie says. I sent her an email a week or so ago and I havent heard anything back from her either.

Last night meeting went very well. I think there were 3 of us who have had the lap band 5 who have had bypass and then just 1 checking things out. Everyone told their stories and we could all relate with each other. It was nice. They are going to have them every 3rd monday of the month at 6:30 at the library

  4. Milk of Mag worked over the Lactulose?? hmm, I would have thought it would have been the other way around lol. Make sure you bring that up to Jeannie though. I was taking, oh Im drawing a blank on what I was taking, its a powder that you can not taste.. Anyway, they said it is ok for a little while, but dont want us taking stimulants. One reason is our body will get used to them and then we will be on them the rest of our lives. UGH my grandma was laxative dependent..I dont know if M.O.M (milk of mag) is a stimulant or not though Hey whatever works :)

See you at the meeting Monday :hurray:

  5. HAHAHA Elephant Farts! I think EVERYONE that takes it has that problem at first. Once your body gets used to it, it isnt as bad. How long have you been taking it now?

The yellowish color is the "unflavored" kind. Mix it in at least 8oz of something. I tried to take 10cc in a 4 oz drink once and I still tasted it. Like I said, I do juice at night and dont taste it at all. My cousin who doesnt have the band but is on it mixes hers with Crystal Light and she said she doesnt taste it in that either. Good luck. LOL, once you get rid of the "plug" it wont stop lol.. just kidding. Gotta love this topic, but I think 99% of the lapband people go through it

  6. Welcome to the world of constipation! LOL.. Are you mixing your lactulose with anything? I put mine in juice and dont even taste it. Mom puts hers in Tea and it just makes it sweeter. Now, the question is, is yours the green one? If so, I refuse to take that one and demand the unflavored from the pharmacy. I take 10cc nightly and that keeps me going. It will take a couple days to get you moving again.

  7. does your doctor not have you watching carbs? Kaplan stresses more on the carbs with us then the calories. 70 pounds in 6 months is great. I have just hit the 70 pound mark and I am 12 1/2 months out. My goal is NOT to lose it fast, thats not healthy. Its funny, when Kaplan first started this program, they were saying you would hit goal in 2-3 years. You dont hear that anymore, its almost like a competition on who is going to hit goal the fastest. I have noticed that the people that are loosing fast, are the ones having the most problems, they also have all that skin hanging that their bodies cant absorb. If I wanted to lose it fast I would have done the bypass.

Oh yeah, MEASURE YOUR food. lol.. Kaplan is on that kick

  8. I could not do the liquid Proteins. Good thing about the powders is that you can mix it into your food like the puddings and mashed potatoes and potato Soup. Mom did that for me because I couldnt drink the drinks and I didnt even notice. I mixed it into my pudding and people at school even tried it and could not taste a difference. I got mine from GNC, its not cheap but its not bad. The powder I got was about $50 but it was a big tub of it. Now I do adkins Protein bars for some meals. They have 10g Protein 160 calories and 3 net carbs in just 1 bar. Thats not bad at all. I eat 1 for either breakfast(when I can actually eat breakfast) or 1 for lunch and it actually holds me over for a couple hours. Good luck next week. Go to GNC and just try out a couple of their proteins. They have the biggest selection. And no, protein is NOT cheap

  9. I dunno, I probably would call Jeannie if it were me. Congrats on the clearance, good luck with everything to come :D.

I can find anything on the website about the free lapband, I have seen the commercial a couple more times now though. Next time, if I think about it, I will see if they give out any contact info

  10. Wonderful for you that you are below 400 pounds!! Doesnt it feel great to be in another number range??? I still think my eyes are playing tricks on me when I see that 200 instead of 300. Who are you going to for your cardio appointment? I forget who it was I went to but he was nice they did the EKG that day and he looked at it. I then was hooked up to a 24 hour holter monitor which was a PAIN because you can shower with it on, and then they set me up for an echo. So all they said from those was Obesity Tachycardia and losing weight should help. I will say I have gone from a heart rate of running up to 160 down to 80s-100s I have even been able to come WAY down off my Toprol which was to bring the heart rate down. I was taking 200 mg a day which they told me was the highest dose they could give, I am now down to 50mg a day. Before my surgery we also found out I was on a medication that was causing my heart rate and blood pressure to go through the roof. So coming off that medication and getting the weight off is really helping my heart now. Do they know how long the delay is going to be on your surgery? Good Luck with everything, dont let this minor set back get you down.

  11. All that for nothing!!?? lol well I cant say nothing. Hope everything goes ok with your cardio appointment. I had to have one at the beginning of my 6 months and had to have an Echo they just decided I have "Obesity caused Tachycardia" Good luck, keep us posted
