I joined the gym recently Nevin following one of those "Couch to 5K" podcasts which aims to get a person literally from being a couch potato to running 5K non-stop.
Yesterday I managed to (lightly) jog 5 minutes without stopping once. I don't even think as a child I ever jogged as long as I did so I am so happy with myself.

I can't tell you how much my wounds worried me. One of them looked like a bit of skin was made as a flap to cover up the hole. It was gross the first few days in the hospital, then thankfully it got better but it took ages. Didn't help that it got infected slightly as well. There wasn't pain, it was more just annoying.
I'm 2 months out of surgery and only now am I happy with the healing. I will scar but so what? The fact that the lumpy wound is gone and the one between my boobs which was open for ages because of its position and how I move a lot in my sleep. It really did feel like I would always have a gaping hole between my boobs and a dent on my stomach wound.
They will heal! Please be assured.

Nearly 4 months since surgery and pretty much all of my non scale victories have been clothes related and that is fine for me.
I'm able to do up two coats that before I couldn't do up and they're not tight on me when done up which is great. All my clothes are baggy on me, I'm wearing jeans I haven't worn in years, its great.
Besides clothes, my general health I know is much more improved. I can walk a lot further now and while after a long walk my feet will still ache (I am big after all) I no longer get back pains which is a massive boost to my walking regime. I think this is my most important victory.

It's everyone's personal choice, whatever you discuss make sure it's right for you.

I'm very open about my surgery. Most people I find are very curious about the surgery and I never tire answering questions about it. If they are secretly judging that is their problem, not mine.

It's a trap. He doesn't want you to feel confident about yourself so you cling to him. Wouldn't be surprised if he had tried to sabotage your progress. You will find someone else. The first person you need to find is you!! Confidence is a aphrodisiac, you will have to beat them off with a stick!!!

And that's how he wants you to feel. Like you can't do any better. You can! Don't settle for someone who's not happy about the positive steps you're taking with your life!

I parked in a tight parking space and was still able to squeeze out of my door, without touching the car next to me. In the past I would not have been able to get out of my car.

Four and a half months out from surgery... This morning, I noticed something weird above my thigh getting out of the shower. Kind of a lump, it looked like.
I was worried for a minute then I noticed it was on the other side, too. It was my hip bone. It has never been visible before in my entire adult life.

I crossed my legs! Unintentionally, and it was comfortable!
I finished my walk a few days ago, and I realized that my lower back and knee didn't hurt.

I booked 2 weeks off, was told by a nurse that I really needed 3. When surgery came I actually felt good to go by around 10 days. I was just lucky though I think. Had a really good quick recovery.

Hi I had my gastric sleeve done 3 years ago. I'm not one for posting on these things but thought I would for you people who are going through the same thing I did, I'm 32 yrs old, have 3 kids. Ive always been big from as far back as I can remember, I always knew I was fat but had the confidence of a thin person!! I never really knew how big I was and no one told me! They probably assumed I knew I was fat!! Anyway after having my kids I just thought enough was enough and went to my doctor, she referred me to the hospital and luckily enough after a few appointments 7 months later I had a gastric sleeve, I was like a child waiting for Santa!! Wen I woke up I cried to my mum thinking I had made the wrong choice because of the pain I was in, few months later I felt fab!! 3 yrs later which is now and I feel great!!! Before my op I weighed 24 and a half stone, clothes size 26, I'm now very proud to say I now weigh 15 stone 5lb! And a comfortable 16 don't regret my choice one bit and if I can help anyone who's having doubts please listen to me it's life changing for the better, thanks for reading
