Feeling so good!!!!

So im 7 months out, and I reached the 100lb milestone today! Went from a size 20 to an 8! Most importantly, I've never felt better.

8 months post-surgery, 150lbs+ lost, and celebrating life this summer, I finally bought the car I've wanted since I was a fat, poor, 18 year old... a Miata.

My "excuse" is that my son is getting his permit in December and I really want him to learn to drive a stick (our other cars are autos). Miata's are now very cheap used cars, though deeply impractical in the most delicious way possible. We're stoked.
What have you done to

I was 451 pounds before I had my surgery in September. Got on the scale today and saw the number 299! I know this is not a big deal for some people, 299 is higher than a lot of your starting weights before surgery, but this is a MASSIVE ACHIEVEMENT for me. I haven't seen a number lower than 300 on the scale since I was sixteen years old. So, yeah, I still have a ways to go, but I am so happy with this decision. I look better, I feel incredible, and I will never go back to being the self destructive girl slowly killing herself with food that I was a year ago.

I think many of us felt like you do in the beginning. For some people, they feel this way through the whole process. From the get-go, defining this surgical procedure as a permanent change to my body and lifestyle helped me to focus on the long-term goal instead of the immediate pay off that comes from either eating poorly or losing weight in a way that cannot be sustained long-term. This has served me well. In fact, I don't even own a scale. Every 3 to 4 months I usually come across to one and weigh in. It is always down! And it doesn't matter if it's down by 4 pounds or 20 pounds. As long as it's lower than it was last time. And it always is!

You look amazing! I am almost 1 month post op and often feel like I'm not doing "things" the right way and like I'm not losing gray enough, your story gives me hope! Keep up the good work and thank you!

I completely agree with hopefulvspgirl I bought so many protien shakes I couldn't stand them after surgery so a lot of $$ down the drain. I also me get used baby plates or cutlery. The one recommendation I have is probably TMI but I would have Monistat our some form thereof my doctor had me on so many antibiotics while I was in the hospital that I was miserable about 3 days in at home. I have been having a lot of difficulty getting in my protien anyone else experiencing this? If I do yogurt I get sick and everything seems to be too sweet (even sugar free). I'm worried about healing without the necessary nutrients. Any suggestions?
