  1. You look great! Congrats on reaching your goal and getting to this point. I can’t believe it myself (that I am almost here). That’s good you don’t have a tiny baby, and your big kids can help. I am single so I am concerned I might need to hire a nurse / mama’s helper to come in for a few days. I might jut start with boobs alone.

That's probably a good idea. I'm blessed to have good help, and you're going need good help even if you start with just boobs. If you're like me, you'll try to do too much if not. I know from past back surgeries when my kids were babies and I was too proud to let family help much

  2. I have also been told I can go ahead. I’m 6 lbs from goal weight and I will be there by July. I’m over 50 so there s really no reason to wait. My diet is pretty permanent, I eat super healthy and low carb. So I don’t see me “ruining” the plastics by suddenly turning to junk food I haven’t eaten in years. Life is short, hon.
By the way, I wasn’t sure which person in any of the pics was you, nor does it matter. If the surgeon is fine with your doing plastics now, and you are, then go for it. However, if that is your newborn, I could see you choosing to do it sooner rather than later, because you won’t be able to pick her up and stuff for a while, and frankly, when babies are younger, they can handle a substitute better than later sometimes... just another reason to proceed and be in great shape after when she is crawling or mobile.

20180518_183243.jpg that's my mom in some pics. And thankfully that's my nephew, so no baby worries lol. Mine are big enough to be helpers

  3. "Need to put rocks in your pocket so the wind doesn't blow you away!"

My grandfather says it constantly and it got worse once we actually started getting wind lmao. I never know how to respond to it, but it's true! I've actually almost fallen over from a big gust of wind.

Lol,I know the feeling. I went to take the trash out. I went to step over the dog gate and the weight of the trash took me with it.

  4. My doctors kept saying I was ready, so I met with plastic surgeon. He said I'm perfect candidate now, and he's ready when I am. He even said no Lipo because all I have is skin not fat. I had my surgery in June 2017. I've been maintaining since January basically. I'm 142 pounds. I was about 237 pounds. He's suggesting Tummy Tuck and breast lift. What's your opinions?20180512_164058.jpg 20180511_175545.jpg

  5. 5'3..234 pounds.. sleeved June 28th and now I'm 145 pounds.. So I'm loving my sleeve. I too had mine for health problems. Mostly for my bad back..I need a fourth surgery but doctor trying to buy me time so I don't run out of levels to fix. You give some to get some. You sound like you're familiar with what you have to give with the sleeve. So, you've got to just weigh the pros and cons. And make the decision for yourself. If I had listened to some of my family, I never would've had my surgery. Now, I have them wanting surgery or amazed by my results. I'm not saying ignore doctor advice, but take friend and family opinions lightly. It's your health, so you just weigh out what's best for you and enjoy your decision either way. Congrats and good luck regardless of your choice in bettering your health and lifestyle!

  6. I told my husband that I didn't want any candy/chocolate/food related gifts, and I bought the kids each a new book and some glow-in-the-dark stars for their room. dinner was a fair bit richer than what I've been having lately, but I still managed to keep it within my allowable calories for the day (it meant a pretty sad little lunch though... lol). I even had a small dish of ice cream afterward.

Sometimes, that balancing act is worth the reward[emoji6]

  7. As time as passed, it's become more normal. If I know I won't eat all of it, I'll ask them to box some to go... for example, I'll tell them to box my side salad to eat the next day since there's meat and veggies coming too. the waiter/ waitress have all been very accommodating and nice. They even offer to bring fresh cups of dipping sauces for my to go plates lol

  8. I’m a HUGE yoga proponent!!! And there are all kinds of yoga, from the gentle/yin/restorative to the really active.... vinyasa is my jam, but I like ashtanga too.

If you don’t have a studio nearby try a Video service like Daily Burn (you can try for a month free) or go on YouTube and look for Erin Moetz (aka “Bad Yogi”) or just search for gentle, yin or restorative yoga!

You’ve gotten great advice about walking and such... elliptical is good too! But wanted to throw in a pitch for yoga!

I started a program called “couch to 5k” (there are apps or you can google and print out schedule). I went from sedentary to running in a few months and now run full marathons!

Thanks for the advice! I'll have to check into this

  9. Thank you (sniff sniff) I just get so tired of the wait. In the old days,i "d go eat something and hope it would make me feel better, it seldom did. Now even with my piddling 30,lbs lost from my highest weight last October, it's a small start.

It's a great start. And it's great to jump start the end of emotional eating! I know that struggle well[emoji6]

  10. Pray God my day to feel that way, comes soon. I'm still stuck in. Pre Surg-ville where the qualms and whim-whaas live. I long to be emancipated and see the Surgery Room lights shining like a beacon for me. I am currently stuck in a snafu and in a holding pattern until Tuesday when the Bariatric Gods come down with a ruling. All good thoughts gratefully appreciated.

Praying for you. Hopefully your day will come soon. And don't let our words discourage you. It's just honesty, and I wouldn't go back and change my surgery for anything[emoji6]

  11. I live in the country, too. The YMCA is about 25 miles away for me:) But combined with other trips to town, I can still make it there a couple times a week.
I strongly suggest getting a pedometer of some sort. There are free fitness apps with pedometers for most smartphones...might be a fun place to start.
Track your steps...even while cleaning and organizing....it adds up! Challenge yourself to do a little more each day. Just tracking what you normally do will give you so much information about your habits.
Gardening, pool care, snow shoveling, lawn mowing....all of that stuff counts:)

I will have to do that. Might surprise myself[emoji4]According to the scales, I've been losing weight and gaining muscles...I might have to thank those leaves in the yard🤣🤣
