  1. I'm thinking about skipping my 3 month doctor appointment for this reason. I'm at 12 weeks post and I've only lost 22 pounds since surgery. I don't need them to remind me of how big of a failure that I am.
  2. May 23rd here. I was 224 on day of surgery. I was 207 this morning. It's not going well for me at all. All of you big losers should count yourself lucky!
  3. Because I haven't lost an ounce since the first week after surgery (while on the clear liquid phase, no food). It's been 7 weeks since surgery, and 6 weeks of not losing, all while never eating more than about 800 calories a day. It's just not fair. And I don't care what anyone says, that is just not normal. I guess I can only lose weight by eating absolutely nothing. But I'm not willing to starve myself. I'm already hungry all the time as it is.
  4. My chicken breast only has 22g of protein per 4 oz, according to the package.
  5. What I wish I would have known before my surgery? That it's not going to work for me. I could have saved my $3000 and spent it on something more useful.

  7. Hello! It's good to see some people close by to me. I'm on the east side of Cinci. However, I not looking for a work-out buddy. I'm still in the "nobody will ever see me exercise" frame of mind. I'll exercise locked away in my basement. lol My surgery was on May 23rd and its been a struggle ever since. Who are your doctors? I wish you guys luck!

  13. Same issue for me. You aren't alone! Surgery on May 23rd and at my 1 week post op appointment I had lost 10 pounds. (Because of that dreadful clear liquid diet.) Since then I've lost nothing. I'm not worried too much yet since I hear this is common. I can't imagine how I can still maintain the same weight while only eating 600-700 calories (around 70- 80g protein). Sounds impossible but its happening. Starvation mode maybe? I'm hoping that once I'm cleared to lift weights and do more exercise, it'll break the stall.
  14. So I just got a time for my surgery on May 22nd. 3:50PM!! I can't believe it's so late. I'm not very happy about that. I'm also kind of worried. There's no way I can go 16 hours without at least drinking something. I'll be completely parched. They must be crazy! Did anyone else have a late surgery and survive?

  16. You gained 10lbs in 3 days? Did you mean to type 245 instead of 255? It's probably just a difference in scales. I'm struggling on my pre-op diet too but as everyone says, just keep at it.

  18. I have the same question as you. I'm on day 6 of 14 of my pre-op diet an have only lost 2 pounds. It's disappointing to see everyone's huge loses. My diet is/was the Medifast type packets. I can not and will not attempt to eat those any longer. Every time I try to eat one of those meals, I gag and retch. The smell and taste are horrible. I know everyone says "follow your doctors orders" but I just cant. Instead, I'll stick to a 700 calorie diet of protein drinks and a low calorie/low carb snack. I guarantee that I'll lose more this second week without those nasty packets.
  19. I've been on my pre-op diet for 5 days now and have only lost 1 pound. My pre-op diet is nasty Medifast packets (shakes, soups and such) and my calories have not exceeded 700 per day. It's frustrating to be so hungry and only see the scale move one pound. Truthfully, I was expecting to lose more by now but I guess it's still early (surgery is May 22). The hardest part for me is that I now don't look forward to mealtime because these packets are so terrible!
  20. My surgery will be on May 22nd as well. On day 3 of my pre-op diet.
  21. Yes, you've already said that it was in Cincinnati. I've researched all the bariatric surgeons in Cincinnati (there isn't that many). Name the doctor.

  23. So which doctor was this? The doctor isn't the only person in the surgery room. Everyone else was in on the con? This is kind of hard to believe.
