  1. I have bipolar and had my surgery April 26th. I had a bout of depression right after but I really believe it was true sadness and anxiety rather than a mood swing. I haven't had any absorption issues. I switched to Wellbutrin HR which can be crushed (it tastes HORRIBLE, just a warning 😄).

Overall I feel so much better. I am taking a lot less of my anxiety med and I am generally very stable. Of course period hormones are still an issue, but it isn't as bad.

I also actually get those mythical endorphins from exercising that everyone used to talk about!!

  2. Wellbutrin is AWFUL. I go through the gagging and almost throwing up routine in the am and pm. I know I can't go back to my small extended release pills which would be easy to swallow. I'm not sure if I can take the regular ones yet without crushing them. It's horrible though.

  3. Hi. I had my surgery on April 26th and I am so depresssed from my bipolar that I'm scared I traded weight loss for crazy. I'm barely keeping up with everything I have to do and I am just full of regrets because my bipolar was under control. I was supposed to go tomorrow for a med check but they rescheduled all the way until next month even though I told them how badly I needed to see my psych. I'm going to call my Bariatric team to see if there is someone they can recommend that can see me sooner. I'm really struggling. I had bypass so I'm wondering if it's an absorption issue.
