    Can I lose my orthotics

I have been a slave to the taste of the podiatrist who made my orthotics. I would love to hear that once I lose some of my weight, I can get rid of them. I am hoping if some of you out there have any experience with orthotics, you will share what those experiences have been.
  2. I think I had to wait about a month for my first appointment after I finally made the call to start the process. I had my first office visit then, about 6 weeks later, I had my visit for my Resting Metabolic Rate and H. Pyloris, Psych Eval, and Bariatric Nutrition Consultation. At that point, I found I would have to be treated with a two-week regimen of antibiotics and acid blocker. Now I am waiting for a month after the antibiotics to see if the level of H. pyloris is at levels that are acceptable enough to do the surgery. If so they will schedule me out at least a month or more so I can run the full course of the pre-op diet. This is not something you can have done at Zippy's In and Out. This is a journey, not a race so, on each step of your journey, take the time to learn and prepare.

    Post op assistance

Thanks! I have contacted them and they will be calling me back.
  4. I have no family around or any who would want to travel to help me. Most of the people I know are married and/or have full lives so it is difficult to find someone. I asked my neighbor and offered her money. She told me to give her a surgery date and she would see if she could get the time off. However, if she can't then, I will be forced to start the search all over. I already know from last year that my insurance company will not cover a visiting nurse. Any suggestions?
  5. You are stronger without him than with him. I am doing this alone. You can do this alone. Don't bring him back for your recovery thinking you will be able to get rid of him later or that he has changed. I guarantee you that your stomach will become a target the first time he gets angry or resentful.

Thanks, guys, and gals. I was hoping you would tell me this. I will just have my neighbor stay with me the first 8 hours or so. Usually, after surgery, I want to be left alone to sleep but the doc is insisting I have someone with me for 24-48 hours. I really don't need to have someone around who is bored and is trying to hold a conversation with me.

NO FAMILY AROUND. Honest. My surgery has not been scheduled yet. I am not working. I am having the surgery done in my home town.

    Pre-op workout?

My doc wants me to do 10,000 steps or 5 miles of walking a day. My dog is too small for that so I bought a buggy for him. I found exercising was impossible to do the first week of taking my antibiotics for h. pylori so I am starting all over after I finish the last dose. I bought a TRX training straps

    Skinny Bucket List

She would advertise on the web and get listed in workout classes around town. She also taught pole dancing and she taught that too as a form of exercise. You might want to see if there is such a thing in your area.

Oh yes, someone mentioned walking in heels. There is a pole dancer here in town who teaches women to walk in heels. I want to walk in heels too.

    For the 45+ crowd

Yep! I am going to cut it, suck it, pull it, push it, or anything else that needs to be done. You might want to give yourself a wishing session because there are many procedures that can be done without actual surgery by shots or laser. The only criteria is that you are stable for 18 months.

    For the 45+ crowd

I am 61 and have not had the surgery yet but I am planning on having my entire body re-done by a plastic surgeon. By that, I mean from the neck down. I am hoping to avoid a facelift because I have seen so many come out of those with lioness like features. I have seen people with severe weight loss before so I knew from the moment I made the decision that two years down the road I would be under the knife again for my changed body.

    Skinny Bucket List

My skinny bucket list is To run with Charlie in the buggy to a downtown local coffee bar. Be more independent. More comfortable. Swim laps. Increase my employability. Increase my endurance. Increased grace. Do an entire TRX session completely horizontal in stirrups. Couture suit. Body Lift - whatever it is and where ever it is I want it, clipped, nicked, sucked, tucked, yanked, stretched, and cut. Cross-country skiing trip. Cruise from Seattle to Alaska. Firm arm muscles. DANCE!
