  1. Hi everyone, hope you all are doing well. I have a few things I wanted to ask those who are where I am or beyond that may have experience with the same issues.
My day of surgery I was allowed nothing by mouth.
The next day I was allowed 1 oz of Water per hour. Then starting yesterday for 2 weeks I'm allowed full liquids. Yesterday I mixed Protein Shake in my Greek yogurt because I'm told everything must be the consistency of milk and able to roll off the spoon. I maybe was able to take in 4 bites of yogurt, and drank half a Premier Protein and Water all day yesterday. Today I haven't "eaten" anything. I've been sipping water and sucked on 2 sugar free popsicles (surprisingly felt great). What is everyone else doing at this time?
As far as how I feel....I'm in Pain but not really taking much medication. My abdomen is extremely swollen especially my left side which is also bruised and very swollen. I'm dizzy intermittently which tells me I need more water. How long does it take for the swelling in the abdomen to decrease.
I guess I need reassurance that what I'm experiencing is normal.

Hi I was sleeved April 17th and I was basically the same too.. took all day to get down 1 Vitamin water and that was drinking every second lol.. i would put a tiny amount of cream Soup and touch it to my tongue to make sure I wasn’t getting to big a bite.. I got full very fast.. the pain was manageable.. walk walk and walk some more!!!!! It will also help w swelling..it is so worth it!! This post op yuck will pass.. I’m down 73lbs!! Wish I would’ve done this sooner!! Good luck!!

  2. On April 14, 2016 I lost my job of 14 years and I was devastated. I was already overweight and on top of that I have lymphedema. My anxiety level reached a new level. I was taking 14 medications and had 3 heart attacks within 4 years. I was only in my early 40's. Since then God has blessed me to get permanent disability payments, and Medicaid; which paid for me to have the duodenal switch surgery. I had my surgery on March 28, 2017. I started out at 467 and currently I weigh 313! I'm no longer on any medications, except Vitamins and lasix. The swelling in my legs and ankles are nearly gone. collage1502322941010.thumb.jpg.c2806d031130ee263d5ba90d6f3e984f.jpgI feel and look so different. It20170923_173357_HDR.thumb.jpg.c939882fbb196e05261b98bf2dc2c856.jpg took 6 months for me to finally see and realize how well I looked.

So happy for you!! You look great!!!

  3. Just wondering if any has regrets from the surgery. I am thinking of the sleeve any advice?

Not a one!! I had the band first and had reflux and got sick with a lot of what I ate.. I was sleeved on 4/17/17 and started at 270lbs and now 205 as of yesterday.. I’m so much happier and healthy no problems what so ever.. no more getting sick as w the band.. I just get full faster...I wish I had done sooner!!

  4. I am hearing lots of different stories about the pain after surgery. What does it feel like if anyone can share their stories. Some say it's soar like you did crunches some say it's excruciating pain. I'm getting worried [emoji33]

My worse pain was from gas pain in my upper back. Incisions were sore but bearable. I got Tylenol 3 and only used a few times. My best advice is to walk walk and walk some more!! It really does help
