I lost about 6kg in the week after surgery and nothing since then. It's been one month since I had surgery.

You could try magnesium for the restless legs. It helped me

yes it is frustrating especially with such a low calorie intake not to be losing something, anything... but i wasn't aware like someone had mentioned above that my metabolic rate has also slowed down to adjust for the almost starvation mode my body is in, even though i dont feel at all like i am in starvation mode. I have had a couple of huge wins already, i must be losing inches because my shorts from last year that were tight are just hanging one me! and when i took a bath the Water actually flowed over my stomach! exciting stuff.
Love those other indicators that things are changing!

I can understand your frustration. The first week after surgery I lost 6kg (13.2lbs) and have been the same weight for the past week. Exercise has been gentle walking but increasing distance as I don't want to create a hernia or put stress on my body while I'm still recovering from surgery. I'm trying to increase my fluids and have found tea easier than Water to drink. I'm looking at other 'wins ' for example fitting into clothes I haven't worn for awhile and making sure what I do eat is nutritious. The lack of weight loss has been frustrating but I'm still learning what my new body needs to function well so I'm taking this time to learn and reeducate myself

I'm on the 15th but not sure of the time. I'll find out today when I go for my last psych and nurse appointments. That's awesome you are in Brisbane too!

Where are you?

I'm in Brisbane and the surgery will be at St Andrews

Hi Rach
I'm also in Australia and going to have bypass surgery in one week. I'm excited and nervous about the changes and impact it will have on my social life but at the same time know that it is the right step to take for a long life. I'm also wanting to make big changes before my 40th birthday. -
I would concentrate on other factors of those experiences, instead of possibly not being able to have a macaroon in Paris, think about walking along the seine river, placing a lock on the bridge to signify everlasting love, seeing the Eiffel Tower lit up at night!

Health issues (high BP and Cholesterol)
in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Posted
I have high blood pressure due to primary aldosteronism (basically my adrenal glands producing too much hormone which increases BP). I had surgery 15 May and have come off 2/3 medications. The third one I will be on for life because of the PA. I used to take cholesterol mess but have been off them long before the surgery however my latest blood tests showed normal levels. Not sure at which point they became normal. Losing weight will help your whole body function better
