  1. What a wonderful post! Not only was it inspiring, but you're a wonderful writer too!

I work in healthcare myself and I've seen the specrum of sucess and failure with patients. When my day finally came, I had to make peace with the fact that it might not work, but I had to try.

Now, three weeks later, I can't tell you how much of a relief I feel that food isn't taking over my life anymore! I know there will always be issues, I'll always want a slice a pizza, but to go about my day, not constantly thinking about my next meal is liberating.

I don't think my doctor grasps how greatful I am for his changing my life, but I'll try to tell him next time I see him without getting too clingy.

    Congrats to everyone!

  2. I usually manage to get my 10,000 a day with the help of my loveable mutt, and the walking around I do at my job.

There's a beautifuly wooded path near my work building that I loved to go after work. Before my surgery, it would take me 60-75 minutes to complete. I tried it for the first time yesterday and it took 95 minutes and I was falling asleep exhausted when I finally finished. I guess I'm not quite ready for it yet!
