This weekend I'm going to try making cauliflower Pizza Crust. Only 2 net carbs a serving, but for us, 0 carbs since we would eat a quarter of that. Gosh, I love this restriction.

I had some really thin garlic cheese bread as an appetizer when taking wife out for mothers day on Sunday. A few fricken bites and I was full, couldn't even get down one bite of chicken. Had to take the rest home to eat the next day.

There should've been a warning label that came with this surgery: No longer taking people's **** is a major side effect .
Have you tried eating bread, or anything starchy like that, yet? I read and heard that can get stuck in your throat. I haven't yet. I still live under a great fear of so many things going wrong, or me losing my way, that it keeps me eating what I know is easy. I'm not that adventurous. I probably eat 1 1/2 chicken breasts a day because I know I can. For some reason I can eat three ounces of chicken but only half of a scrambled egg.

Sleeve Queen you are doing so great!! I am somewhat distracted by life 's happenings so I havent been v focused on my progress. . I had a stall a while back and was getting obsessive (I think I told you) so I stopped weighing myself so much. I'm just trying to focus on eating foods that I really like in v small portions. I've had a bad stuck feeling in my throat for the past 5 days so things taste good but they dont go down well. And my stomach grumbles ALL the time. I've had some emotional ups and downs too so thats been rough. I am finding myself to be less of a doormat with my teenagers and they are not used to me putting my foot down! You know what happens when someone in a system changes... it causes lots of ripple effects. For mothers day I went up north to the trees and birds and then I spent the late afternoon at my moms.. My brother made quesadillas and I couldnt believe how much everyone ate. WE are all food addicts. I felt so happy to be able to have a little bit and leave the rest. I would have been right in there with them. In fact I ate enought on Easter weekend to last me a lifetime!! Wishing you success and happiness and love. Keep me posted about your shrinking butt!

Well BP FAM , I'm back again with a rant. My husband and I were talking last night and he made comments in how he wished I never had this surgery. He stated that my butt has gone almost away and he felt all unneeded to do was tone up and lose my belly initially. Well, first of all, I don't know how you tone up 242 lbs with BMI 0f 39( which was my initial weight and BMI). So.... he proceeded to run his mouth about all the things I can't do like drink gallons of sweet tea, eat cake and Cookies, go to restaurants and eat appetizer , entree and dessert.. You know all of the healthy stuff that led me to be 242 lbs in the first place. Well, I was really hurt by his comments. My rebuttal was how much healthier I am , I am a lose size 10 as opposed to a tight size 16, I am no longer out of breath with walking 20 feet and I am able to exercise. I like how my body has changed and I told him I love my size. Well, he said "you don't have to be attracted to you, I do and you only needed to lose a little belly but now your butt has gone down tremendously " well needless to say I was pushed to my breaking point. I was like if you don't like what you see, go and find you a thick chic with a donkey's ass. I'm not even at goal yet so I'm gonna lose more and just ticked that he would say that to me which made me feel a lil insecure about my looks. Then I snapped out of it. I have posted pics on my other forums but I will put my last one here as well. Not tooting my own horn but I worked hard for these results . I had surgery in Dec 2016. I am just like dang I can't win for losing .i really thought I was doing good . My pics show one week after surgery on left, middle is 1 1/2 months post op and last pic on right was about 2 weeks ago.

This sleeve queen is down 29 pounds today since surgery and 43 since 4/15. It's funny, my husband wanted to know what I wanted to do for Mother's Day and everything I thought of, because we did before, revolved around food. I'm in strange territory. What did you do Sunday?

    Hey y'all,

I was sleeved April 13th and so far I have lost 41 lbs. I did reach a stall last week but I noticed today I weighed 185 and that's 2 pounds I was able to lose in about 2 weeks. I did have to increase my calories to 1,000 but an average of 880.

Since surgery I've noticed that I feel happier. I am able to sleep at night for longer periods. I have a Fitbit so it helps me keep track of my activity level. I do have chronic pain and not much change there yet but I'm praying once I reach my goal in about 45 lbs to go I will feel a difference and my pain will decrease. I also cook more now since I have to eat much different than before. I love that my clothes don't fit at all but I do love leggings until I reach that goal. I refuse to buy clothes till I get to 145. I notice my face glows a whole lot more now.

I would like to share for those having issues with calorie intake. I did notice that lamb loin chops have more calories in 2 ounces than chicken does and they taste delicious with rosemary, garlic, thyme and butter. (Mouth watering) with a side of 2 ounces zucchini. Lol

Anyhow, good luck to you all and wishing you the best with your journey. I'm so thankful and grateful I chose to get sleeved.

yay Propo! Sounds like you are doing great! Slow and steady wins the race... it's hard to see these people with 100 lb plus weight loss when things feel like they are going so slowly. But imagine if you kept losing 28 lbs a month.... In 4 months that would be 120! That's too fast!! You would have one loose birthday suit! Congrats and we are awesome!!

Your dinner sounds so delicious! Isn't it great to love food and really get to taste it and appreciate it and not overdo it? It;s such a different relationship to it than before! I have thought about how many times I would have binged or drank too much wine because I was upset about something but its great not to be able to and then it makes you realize that you food and alcohol never helped with the problems anyway.
But it took this surgery to find that out
I'm glad your big butt was sticking out in the garden and you just didnt care! Because all kinds of things are opening up for us and we are becoming more free! I can walk without terrible pain so now I feel able to go places instead of stay home and cry all the time. /GO GIRL YOU GO GIRL YOU GO SLEEVE QUEEN OF 04/24!!

I love you too and you make me laugh. Sleeve Queen . I am doing well. You never realize how bad you used to feel until you suddenly start getting better. Hell, my big butt tonight was pulling weeds for an hour. Bending over and everything and I didn't even topple over once!
    How are you doing?
Oh, I made the most delicious dinner tonight. I made an aluminum boat and put a Perdue Italian chicken breast in it with a pat of kerrygold butter, garlic powder, pepper, and a few frozen green Beans on top. Sealed it tight and baked it for 40 minutes. So tender and flavorful!

Sleeved 4/18. Started my pre op diet 4/4/17 @ 323.
Pre-op was rough, was on about 600 cal a day diet with very limited carbs and pretty low fat. It paid off nicely because I did not have to do a carb withdraw after surgery. I hit the table at 311. Was up walking 3-4 hours after surgery, came home the next day. Made a point of getting off the Percocet by the Friday after surgery.
Surgeon said he'd consider 220-230 a success for me but I'm hoping to push it a little lower......Mostly I want to get healthy so I guess my body will tell me where is a good place to land.
I have stopped weighing in each day after the 3 weeks stall. I got myself a fitbit and am tracking food and exercise pretty obsessively. Yesterday I checked my totals and I have walked over 102 miles since 4/22. I do at least an hour a day of walking and I shoot for 3.5 miles as a goal but I usually beat that. I was a college athlete so I miss the workouts, my problem after college is that I was eating like I was still burning 6000 cal a day. I used to eat mostly good food, I just had no Portion Control. As I started to work out over the years I would also amp up my food intake. Total lack of balance there.
I took off 3 weeks from work and dipped into my 488 hours of unused sick time. This was great both physically and emotionally gave me time to transition at my speed both physically and mentally.
Blood sugar is normal, BP is actually low now so I'm going to discuss getting off some meds with my primary next week.
42 days since start of pre-op and I'm 280 so just about a pound a day. Looking at my food intake and exercise the math seems about right. I have to laugh at Myfitness pal app every time I go to log in a days worth of eating - its very happy to tell me that I'm not eating enough.
I'm into the "soft" food stage of the diet, but still using shakes. Shooting to get 100G Protein per day I average about 75.
I'm not really ever hungry, but I experience the new - "you need food" signals which are usually a mild dizziness and a general rundown feeling. There have been plenty of times where I have forgotten to eat. I drink all day, I have a 32 oz water bottle that I add 1/4 strength crystal lite too. I have become somewhat sensitive the taste of plain Water, as it there is any tastes I can pick them up. My energy is good, sleep apnea is greatly reduced. I go to bed early and sleep like a rock. I wake up refreshed and feeling good.
Only stomach issues have been some Constipation and my Multi-Vitamin makes me gage sometimes. I have done spicy and Hot without issue. Slowing down to eat over :30 min has been a challenge. Not slugging down a giant glass of water with meals is a change.
I did a bit of a stall coming through week 3. I took a rainy Saturday and did nothing, rested, hydrated, ate my protein. Woke up Sunday Am and 2.5 lbs were gone. I'm averaging about 650 cals per day over the last 2 weeks. Fitbit tells me I'm burning 27-30K per week but I take that with a grain of salt.......
All my pants are now too big, I have some belts I can't wear. Looking forward to getting cleared to go to the gym. Looking forward to being healthy.

Good Luck All - Carpe Diem

/Wow sounds like a real mixed bag - lots of positive and some challenges too! How upsetting about the water. I have heard quite a few people say that through reading this forum. There's something about water than seems HARD ( ever do a belly flop??!) unlike a blended Soup or mashed potatoes. Wonder if there is anything to that. (I tend to imagine a lot of things!) And in the picture you seem to have a baby . There are usually really tiring in my experience!! ha ha I guess the best part os the jeans and the scale going DOWN regardless of the rate.
    YOU'RE DOING IT!!!!

Great topic. Thanks for asking. I had my surgery one week today and so far I've lost 20 with the pre op. It just shocks me that 20 pounds are gone! My daughter says my face looks different already and I seem smaller. Wow. So on top of that:
    1. I have way more energy
    2. I am more clear headed
    3. I feel really really hungry all the time but I don;t want to eat. Weird huh? I think about food alot.
    4. I don't sleep as much
    5. I also dream of food! Cheesecake so far
    6. I don;t like when my 14 year old eats Kraft mac and cheese in front of me (my most fav food)
    7. I am really grumpy alot.
    8. I feel like my best friends (food and wine) moved far away and left me behind. But they were bad friends in the end and so they were doing it for me.
    The end
Love to hear more from others!

My surgery was the same day and I lost 25 pounds the first week and a half, and only two in the last week. Even if I don't lose another pound in the next week, I'm pretty proud of losing 27 pounds since 4/24. That's crazy. No wonder the body's taking time to figure out what the hell is going on.
Also, when we're not seeing the loss on the scale, it doesn't mean you're not losing fat. When fat gets depleted, the cells fill with Water before getting flushed out. That's why you may see inches lost but no change on the scale. To flush that water out you need to up your liquids--I know, it's hard as it is but it's effective and necessary.
But from here on out, the normal weight loss per month is 5-20. I wish we could lose every month like that first. I guess if you want to stay on liquids you probably could--but who wants that?!?!

    Hi Finding_Stacy!
I think we must all be a little nutty in this first stage. We are relearning everything and experimenting to see what works and what doesn.t/ Or at least I am! Maybe I should chill and go with the flow and follow the program too! I'm weighing myself too often and I have been freaking out that if I eat just 2 Protein Shakes a day plus some low fat Soups and my Water I GAIN WEIGHT!! What the hec;s with that??? It's gotta be about metabolism and starvation mode etc, Today I ate a little bit of a soft boiled egg and it really filled me up. I bet our bodies are going through extreme changes. But I led myself to believe the sleeve would just do it for me and that is SO not the case.
Hope we can all switch to the long term mode - the really fast short term weight loss messed with my mind!! And I came to expect more. Thinking of you all on your journeys!

Morning Sleevers. My 2 week post op update. I'm under 300lbs! Way to go me!!!
Lost 23lbs in 2 weeks and despite another week of liquid diet ahead, I'm feeling pretty good about that. Clothes feeling much looser and one of the things that made me go for the surgery is starting to happen.
I'm a car nut. Especially classic sports cars. I started thinking seriously about the surgery partly because of my small classic car Collection. I was struggling to get in and out of my cars and the seat belts on older cars are just not as big as modern cars. I used to squeeze them around me but could hardly reach forward! Not good.
After just 23lbs lost, I went for a drive yesterday and the seat belt actually fit me without a struggle. Not loose yet but no drama getting it on! Also easier getting in and out. I feel I'm on the right track!!
So, if you need an incentive, buy a little sports car and aim to squeeze in 😂
food wise, I'm still struggling with the liquid diet. My wife has been a total angel. She won't eat her dinner in front of me and goes into another room. How sweet is that!
No pain, no fuss. Still on my blood thinner injections until next week and see my surgeon next week. Soft food - T minus 1 week lol 😂😂

Hello! I was sleeved on 4/19, I've lost 32lbs since surgery, 84 total since starting in July 2016. Things I notice
    1) my clothes are alot looser
    2) my face, waist are slimmer and the most noticeable to me
    3) I can walk thru Walmart now without relying on a motorized cart
    4) I don't have the back and knee pain I had before surgery when walking.
    5) I'm sleeping better
    6) I have more energy
    7) besides the stomach muscles hurting I feel better
    8) I'm off diabetes and BP meds and have perfect numbers!
    9) I enjoy walking more than I ever thought possible
    10) I have to set reminders to remember to eat and drink. But I do have a lot of head hunger.

I was sleeved 4/17/17 and, after a 10 day stall w/ walking 2-3 miles per day for the last 2 weeks, the scale finally moved today. Do not be disappointed as your body is just trying to catch up w/ the trauma it just endured. It will get better as your body heals, you will see the loss reflected on the scale. Rejoice in the non scale victories. A thinner face, looser pants and being able to resist temptation, as hard as THAT can be sometimes! I think when people ask "how much have you lost so far", I might just reply w/ "enough" as the change I see does not match the # reflected on the scale. Besides, I can't expect to lose 30 years of weight gain in less than one month. I know they are just curious but ask me in a year and I will give them a #. You will get there, just give it some time to work.
