  1. Had gastric sleeve on 08/24. Experienced severe nausea and vomiting (even with all the meds given before/during surgery). Had to stay in hospital an extra day but situation was resolved. Doctors and hospital staff were excellent. Now 6 days post-op. A little sore but have not needed pain meds at all. I'm in the full liquid stage. Am able to get most of my Water and Protein in. Energy level is getting better everyday. Even though I can't eat much I'm still trying to figure out when I'm full and remember to sip and not gulp (it hurts).

For those using GENEPRO do you count a serving at 30g of protein?

  2. Eek! I'm 47 and thinking I was one of the young ones! I know what you mean though. Good to hear it went so well.

Ditto on the Eek!! I'm a few months shy of 58...[emoji1]. Waiting for my surgery date and a little nervous. Wish I had done this a few years ago but so glad I made the decision to have the surgery now...

  3. Just sleeved 7 days ago, I thought I was mentally prepared but I had a hard time the first few days, especially while in the hospital since I barely could get any sleep. There was a lot more pain and nausea than I expected. I didn't feel any pain from the actual stomach sleeve, it was the 6 incisions which were like 6 stab wounds that makes any movements that use your ab muscles (almost everything) very painful. It was managed well with the pain and nausea meds (be sure to keep taking them every 4 hours or so) but simple things like shifting around the bed, coughing, sneezing (ouch), hiccups, even peeing the first couple times were painful for me. After coming home and getting a good nights sleep, I was off the pain meds and it was downhill from there. You may feel a lot of regret at first but after the weight starts flying off, it will all be worth it! I'm down 11 lbs in 7 days so I would do it all over again if I had to!

  6. Hi, I'm a newbie to this site and the world of WLS. I would appreciate support , encouragement and advice for gastric sleeve. I am in the pre-op phase. Am currently going through all of the medical appointments and 3 month diet required by my insurance. I've struggled with my weight for about 20 yrs. Always thought I could loose the weight but have been stuck on the yo-yo diet train. Loose some then gain it back. I'm in my late 50s, 5'8", HW 292, CW 275. I have sleep apnea, high blood pressure, and have already had a knee replacement. Now my other knee is bothering me and reached a decision to REALLY take control of my health.
