I hope by the time you read this it finds you in a better mood, Your not alone alot of us go through this. I'm really excited about changing my life and would like nothing more then to share it with my Bff but she's always so damn negitive I just stopped telling her anything about it If she wants to know she'll ask. Also I starting to think it just shows how self centered she is, as a friend she should be happy I'm happy. I think she might be a little bit jealous, Because she also stated that she didn't know how we'd be able to still be friends if we did't have our weight in common. I didn't even know that was part of the reason we were friends in the first place, I'm doing this for me. If she or anyone else can't deal with it Then I just won't have them involved in my personal life. I may sound mean but I just don't have room for negitivity in my postive world. do what makes you happy!!!:thumbup::smile:

The gas they use during the surgery is what causes the shoulder pain. hope that was helpful.

My date is 7-22-08 w/Dr. Rod, Jessica is helping me, so far she's been great. She is right on time whenever I have a question, she E-mails or calls with very little wait. I like that because I always have alot of questions. If she doesn't have the answer she'll get it and get right back to me. I'll let you know how it goes in mexico.

well i'm sure this will make some of you angry but so be it: women shouldn't use it as birth control, and alot do. I would never have one, but i can see sometimes maybe feeling you have no choice, life and death and all. so many people have brought up the rape thing, Well my best friend is the porduct of rape(my beautiful daughter) I don't regret having her at all. Although she doesn't know at 23, and i doubt she ever will. my ex was nice enough to give her his last name even though we were not togather at the time. not saying it's the way everyone should be. that's not up to me and not my choice. I only have to answer for what i've done in life. it boils down to i don't beleave in it but who am i to tell someone else what they can or cannot live with.

Sorry to hear about your hubby, you have alot to deal with right now. It's a good thing the kids are there to help ya'll. I'll put you both in my prayers, I'm self pay, I guess the good thing about that is I didn't have to go through all the stuff so many of you have to quailfy. Just the right BMI and a medical questionair. OH and the blasted money. But no hassle. I really hope you get approved, This is what I was talking about the more real it is the more your mind starts to wounder. But just a little advise try not to over endulge to much, that's just more you'll have to get off later. anyway that's how i'm trying to deal with it. I keep trying to justify that last hugh meal of everything i love but i just keep telling myself it's not worth it. 4th of july is going to be hard for me, we have a big party for my hubby's employees no beer, burgers,potato salad, ect. ect. ect. for me. I'm looking at that as a true test on how the future will be. I think I can deal with it. I'm just keeping in mind whats important. good luck on your journey.

Thanks Orea15, Your great, I noticed your from orange,va. I beleave i told you on a earlier thead i was from windsor, about 3 hrs from you. my ex inlaws (great people) live in orange on lake Anna. It's really nice up there. Thx so much for the info it meant alot to me.

Amanda, Your hubby sounds alot like mine. I to am doing all on my own including going to mexico by myself. My hubby would never say anything mean and from now on will be refered to as Ye of few words, that's the the thing he just doesn't say much or ask any questions. I just chalk it up to he's used to me handling everything. I'm sure he doesn't mean to hurt you he probaly just doesn't understand what your going through. That's the good thing about this site we're all in the same boat and I think it really helps us to get through it and work through our feelings knowing other are just where your at and so willing to help. good luck. :thumbup:

Thx everone, Just wanted to say it's not that i'm not sure and I have done alot of research 2 yrs worth. Just getting nervous the closer it gets. and was wondering if others felt that way before surgery. Just sometimes going through this site and seeing the problems others have had you just get that oh my, what if that happens to me thing going on. Guess I was just needy last night and wanted some encouragement. Once again thx for taking the time to respond, This is a great site and ya'll have helped me alot in those breif moments of worry.

2 more days and our butterflies start taking flight, how exciting! also I noticed alot of people are doing the slimfast thing, that's what I was told to. But they told me slimfast low carb, I couldn't find it in the stores so I had to order it off line, the stores around me just seem to carry reg. slimfast and the optima. I know i'm gonna need more anyone have luck finding it and if so where? :thumbup:

I"m getting my lap band on 7/22/08, It's getting close and now i'm wondering if I picked the right surgery. lap band, sleeve, GBS, mini bypass, I'm self pay so I want to make the right choice from the get go. Maybe it's just nerves. just wanted to know if anyone is going through this or has gone through this?

I'm also going to Mexico on 7/22/08 and by myself. There's alot of good DR.'s there. just do your research when picking your surgeon. There's alot of people on this site that have had surgery there. Also don't worry about what your skinny friends think, They just don't understand. If you need support just look on this site and i'm sure you'll find all you need. theres alot of great people here. good luck.

your only 28, don't worry you'll meet the right one when it's time. I didn't meet the right guy until I was 40 and I have been blessed. I hope it doesn't take you until your 40. I'm sure not trying to bring you down I'm just saying it will happen. lots of luck and happy hunting!!!
