@Thejeweledsleeve Hey lady, thank you. I feel WAY better...I bought the B complex vitamins the same day I posted the status and took it right away (thanks @Introversion) and it seems to have gone away. I'm back to normal now, yay!

Introversion got a reaction from Newme17 in It's been a while on a status for me, but I would like to know if anyone has experien
It didn't happen at 5 months out for me...rather, it was discovered at my 1-year postop appointment. My blood work revealed I developed a thiamine (vitamin B1) deficiency, and this can affect motor skills due to its impact on the neurological system.
Thiamine is also used by the body to metabolize food for energy, so a thiamine deficiency can result in low energy.
I started taking a vitamin B complex pill twice weekly, which solved the problem.

Thank you for your input @Introversion, I’ll take a B complex and see if that solves it for me as well.

I've lost 100+ pounds with my sleeve, reached my goal weight, and have been maintaining the weight loss for the past year. The sleeve is a great tool to get you where you need to be, and to help you stay where you need to be.

I know what you mean about wishing for a weather change. I've done almost all my running in the gym on the treadmill since summer arrived (I'm in Texas...it's difficult to run outdoors with a 100 degree heat index).
Congrats on the non-scale victories.

Introversion reacted to Apple1 in Does anyone purposely go to bed hungry or do you eat if you're hungry right at bedtim
If I was hungry I would eat a healthy small snack. If you are working out in the evenings your body may need this for recovery. You have to figure out what works for you.

I almost always eat a bedtime snack. It's usually something with a decent protein content such as string cheese with turkey sausage, nuts, rolled-up ham slices, etc.
Then again, I'm a breakfast skipper on purpose. My first meal of the day usually happens after 12:00pm because I'm simply not hungry in the morning.

I'm 2+ years out and my stomach still makes audible sounds after I've eaten particular foods that people within a few feet of me can hear.

I'll definitely need to make this modified version of shepherds pie, especially since seasonal veggies are so much cheaper around here due to the summer season.

Introversion reacted to MSinger in So I've been trying to wake up early and get my workouts in, only did it twice. I can
I remember when I started working out in the mornings, I decided I was gonna do it no matter what. Even if I was ready to cry, I was gonna drag myself out of bed when the alarm went off. What motivated me was I read somewhere that it takes 21days to form a habit, so I made peace with the fact that the first three weeks were gonna be miserable, and then it would get better. That's pretty much what happened. In the middle of the third week, it started to get easier. Now I also work from home and usually work out during my lunch break, but I kinda miss having my morning ritual.. it feels really nice once you get used to it.
Good luck!

I am so definitely not a morning person. Now that I work from home, I exercise in the late morning/early afternoon (sometime between 10am and 3pm).
When I worked overnight shifts, my shift would end at 6:30am and I'd be at the gym at 7:00am to workout. On my days off I'd exercise at night, sometime between 8pm and midnight.

Introversion got a reaction from Newme17 in Can someone tell me how many pounds should you lose a month are a week with the sleev
The weekly/monthly rate of weight loss with a sleeve is tied to factors such as genetics, age, gender, ethnicity, certain pre-existing diseases, and starting weight on surgery day.
Certain groups of people normally lose weight very fast such as males, females under 35 years old, the super-obese with BMIs greater than 50, and "healthy fat people" without any metabolic diseases.
Other groups often lose more slowly such as older folks, menopausal women, racial/ethnic minorities, 'lightweights' who were in the high 100s/low 200s weight range on surgery day, and people with metabolic illnesses such as diabetes, PCOS, and hypothyroidism.
I was a slower loser. I lost an average of 5 to 6 pounds monthly. It took me 17 months to lose 100 pounds. My starting weight was 218 with a height of 5'1.
