An alcoholic because I want a drink? I'm sorry did I say I wanted to get hammered or have a several? I said A DRINK. Had I known that posting a question would require me to deal with a bunch of judgemental people I would've refrained from doing so. I thought this was somewhere I could go for support and for answers without being judged. Sorry I asked geez..
You are 9 days out of surgery and craving alcohol, you're not even on mashed foods yet but you want to drink that sounds exactly like an alcoholic to me, really wasn't judging, but it sounded like a cry for help.

Im 9 days post op and really want a drink, I've been healing well tolerating everything extremely well. How soon can I have a drink?
Thanks!
You sound like an alcoholic, maybe get some help for that before you irritate your new stomach and possibly have some serious problems, sometimes life threatening.

You look fantastic, this surgery helps alot of people. My weight would always come back it didn't matter what diet I tried, I'm 4'11"
My HW 238 I looked hideous to myself.

Myself CW 147,
I didn't do the surgery for any other reason than to get healthy.
I felt lost in my own prison that I created for myself.... I did think it was going to make me happy though, but that idea is long gone. I'm happy now because I feel so much better. As I aproach my 8th month I am so happy with the results that I would do it all over again, that's how I know I'm happy. Congrats on your weight loss you look amazing![emoji258]

Ok you say you want drama, how can I handle the fact that now people who I have known just started asking me out and it seems like it is just recently now that I've lost the weight.

Thank you very much. This is definitely not the easy way out as most of us have tried for years as I did to try and lose it with dieting for years before we resort to surgery.

from everything iv been told and read you should still be on liquids and as much Protein as you can get in i would stay away from the rice and cream of wheat for now they not gonna help you in the long run. ok so i go see my dr tomorrow to get a letter for medical necessity because my surgeon office summited for approval without it so i got denied if the letter doesnt work my happy ass will be going to mexico my husband is not happy about that because he is in the medical filed and knows no one will want to treat me if i have a leak and had surgery in mexico
If you have the surgery in Mexico and have something go wrong after the surgery, an ER Dr, can't turn you away if something goes wrong. They have to help you.

Ok, here goes, I'm scared to death that I might stretch out my stomach and I'm worried to death I'm going to undo everything I had done. Anyone else have this fear?? I'm sure alot of wls patients are thinking about this has anyone else had their surgery undone by stretching it out?

Sometimes even if my stomach is growling, first I try a glass of Water and usually it simmers down. I don't particularly like water, but tea or broth would help and the broth is good for you.

You're welcome. I agree that it's difficult to "retrain" brains. I started to go into autopilot one day. I thought, "oh, a sugar-free pudding sounds good," then I started to go in the kitchen. I stopped myself but head hunger and autopilot bring real temptation. Not sure how long it takes after was for stomach to stretch. That would be a good post.
Ok I'll do just that. Let's find out together!! [emoji5]

I’ve been BPII for about 13 years. Seroquel made me gain 100 lbs. I’m down 80 and have had no problem at all absorbing my meds. Some of them come in liquid or can be compounded but the ones I’ve tried taste like ass. I didn’t take my BP meds for 2 days after surgery because I was scared to try but they all went down perfectly, though slowly. I take about 15 pills a night. 4 of them are horse pills.
I'm bipolar also I also have a ton of pills to take every day. I just took my meds slowly and I got my meds in without any problems. I also take Seroquel, and all my meds stayed down I didn't have to open up the capsules in my Prozac or anything.

That's tough. If you like jigsaw puzzles or if you haven't done one in awhile, you may want to consider it. My mind is occupied when I'm putting a puzzle together and its tired when I'm done working on it for the night.
Thanks for the idea I'm gonna get a puzzle today so I can keep busy. I have the head hunger also. It's hard to retrain my brain and I'm worried I'm going to stretch out my stomach, I had the sleeve on June 21st 2017, anyone know how long it takes to stretch out the stomach after wls?

Yes, Creekrimp is right, no need to be ashamed. We can be too hard on ourselves at times. And it is true, you were lovely before, and you are lovely now. Glad that you feel good, you look fantastic! Congratulations on losing all of that weight! You look happy and I'm happy for you! Keep up the awesome work!
Thank you very much, I have never been overweight in my whole life so when I actually see myself in these before and after pics I start to cringe, I hate myself in all photos. I didn't realize but I had been staying away from mirrors for a very long time. Ty all for your kind words. I seem to be having a hard time accepting the fact that I am not as ugly as I feel anyone know how to treat this problem, because I know it's not good to feel like this?

Thank you much.

It’s been a while since I’ve posted on this app. I just want to say to everyone post wls, you are successful. Take this journey and make it your own. Be selfish. Put yourself and your health first. Hold yourself accountable and trust the process. Surgery doesn’t make the emotional eating goes away. It doesn’t make it bad to eat those things that aren’t healthy. I fell into that trap of thinking I was exempt and could slide by. But I got myself together and I began to focus on healthy living.
I hope this picture inspires you to go forth and become a more healthier you. Take advantage of this new lease on life. Envision how you want your journey to be and make it happen.

That's really awesome, great job keeping it off, I'm going on 7 months out and I'm already worrying I'll stretch my sleeve and I'll be hungry all the time all over again. Can you give me some ideas on how to keep that from happening, I'm freaked out that it could happen?

I've had bad Constipation almost my whole life, I finally started adding a stool softener every day with my Vitamins that way I don't forget to take it. Has anyone tried Vivensce , I think that's what it's called.

I don't know why you would need anything at the hospital, I had the gastric sleeve and I was there overnight and released the very next morning, don't work yourself up to thinking that it's going to be such a major surgery. It's done with 5 little puncture sites, I had no stitches and no tape even. I think the more anxious you are you work it up much more than you need to. I'm 6 mos out,

I've been the same way but my restless leg syndrome seems to have gotten worse. My family physician put me on baclofen before surgery for rls and it's very effective. My psychiatrist is very diligent and this medicine doesn't interfere with my other medications. Good job on your weight loss! It only gets better in time. I am just 6 months out .

I'm extremely happy with the results and wish I would of had my surgery 6 years ago, I let my mom talk me out of it 6 years ago. I could never imagine it would have felt this good to NOT walk around with so much weight on me.

I have had to stop eating really hot stuff, it starts to upset my stomach and immediately enters into my esophagus and burns so bad I literally can't breathe. My throat burns so much the acid burns so bad and I can't breathe in any air until I use my inhaler. I thought it was happening only at nite from laying down but it does it during the day also. Keep your inhaler handy if you have this same reaction you're gonna need it.
