  1. I was sleeved in Mexico and, while my surgeon did provide consultation, information and support, some info was conflicting or incomplete. For that, Google is a wonderful thing. ObesityCoverage.com has a wealth of information. When I need perspective from others, I come here. Everyone's experience is sooooo different, no doctor's office can replace those personal stories.

Yes I agree the personal stories are the most informative.

  2. sugar free popsicles are my go to for sweet. There are also Sugar Free Chocolates but those are def a slippery slope
    Good luck
I stay away from SF candy but the pops are different. I don't eat any sf caramels, chocolates or Taffy of any kind. I can still eat a ton of SF candies, and it's definitely a trigger down that slippery slope of eating.

  3. I'm so happy being single I don't want anymore men in my life. I now take care of my father with ahlzeimers and dementia, my brother and I have 5 grandsons. Enough men in my life and I'm not hurrying up to add another one. I'm enjoying my single self and there's nothing wrong with that. Why does everyone think they have to have a significant other to make them feel whole?

Also premium Premier Protein drink is about 7.00 a case of 4 and 30 grams of Protein each. I also purchased six star unflavored protein powder from Walmart also along with Elevate from Aldi's, has 30 grams of protein also in powder. I order the Walmart six star online because when I go to get some they are always out of stock. They have to be pretty good if everyone's buying them.

  5. Its not a matter of the surgeon not telling you what to do after surgery just because he says for example you can start eating ground beef now doesn't mean its going to approve with your stomach everybody is different what you used to be fine with eating is not the same anymore. I don't think you should belittle anybody's thoughts on what they talk about should they eat or not because this surgery is a learning process you learn what your body can intake all over again like a baby its a trial and error process. It has nothing to do with anybody's insurance carrier. So before you somewhat are judging peoples thoughts maybe you need to research more of what this life changing experience is about. Not judging though.[emoji19]

I don't think asking questions is shaming anyone. There are no stupid questions, only dumb answers like yours.

  6. I'm sorry, but I feel that bringing up your obvious dislike for the president in this forum is just opportunistic. This , in the end is about personal responsibility. Refraining from the behavior that for them there in the first place. TBH, right after surgery, I could have eaten the steering wheel off my car. I refrained. I have stuck to the diet, cheated a couple of times, buy have lost almost 40 lbs in 5 weeks. For those who can't make the changes, save your money and stay home.

I agree 110% don't waste everyone's time to get you healthy and then eat crap you're not supposed to.

Our President is doing an awesome job of keeping his promises which is why he got elected! That has nothing to do with bariatric surgery but anyone knows the post op diet and if that person ate cinnabons right out of surgery shame on them and the people that brought them. This procedure doesn't work if you can't even close your pie hole out of surgery. I really feel sorry for this person because they lack total intelligence or total will power and they will surely fail because this is a life changing surgery. But, you have to be willing to do without some of your favorite things and make healthier things your new favorites. Don't go through all of this in vain and not learn anything! This is your chance to get it right! Don't squander your second chance!

  8. I had to see a nut Dr 6 months in a row, that was just one prerequisite. I also received a binder with a lot of info on everything and I also purchased the BIG BOOK ON GASTRIC SLEEVE thru bp, I'm revising to the bypass soon due to acid reflux and hiatal hernia issue and I can't wait. I will definitely be buying the BIG BOOK ON THE BYPASS also. They have a ton of information in these books and I recommend anyone considering these procedures to also purchase them.

  9. Just recently began trying tampons! [emoji15][emoji51][emoji850]
But often times, I leak or have accidents with one or two hours of putting one in. What exactly am I doing wrong? Absorption not enough? Angling it in incorrectly? Just crazy bc I can teach it but not wear them!!![emoji25][emoji25][emoji25][emoji22]
    Helppppppp!
Playtex fits better than Tampax, Tampax gets longer and Playtex just opens up to absorb much more comfortable.

  10. Eating and drinking over the past month has gotten progressively harder. I saw my team today who predict I either have a stricture or a hernia. I have an upper GI scheduled for the day after Christmas. I have had a super easy recovery and this has really put me in a rotten mood. Everything I eat or drink ends up being vomited up or dry heaved. My throat is raw from repeatedly throwing up and I’m nauseous all the time. I’m a miserable mess right now. I could use some encouragement, esp from someone who has gone through this. Thanks
I'm having the same trouble I was sleeved on 6 21 2017, lost weight really well but started having problems with food and acid reflux coming up from my esophagus and burns my windpipe so badly I had to use my rescue inhaler just to breathe normally. I had an upper endoscopy and they found a small hiatel hernia. So they had me do another endoscopy and there is no room for them to go in just to fix it. Do now they are going to revise me to the bypass, and I'm waiting for the insurance company to approve it, shouldn't take too long.

  11. I'm in the early phases of being able to eat real food (6 weeks out). Typically, I take egg salad, ricotta bake, or Beans and cheese to work. I have to work offsite for a week without a microwave. I can take egg salad, but don't want to eat that every day. Any other good, easy to digest, protein-rich foods that I can take in my insulated lunch bag? for lunch? Thanks!
How do you make the ricotta bake?
