  1. Hi everyone- just an update... I’m still doing very well maintaining after 2 years. I did gain 20 lbs back but that’s from working from home, vacationing, snacking during the holidays, and drinking. It’s much easier for me to lose weight now. I can eat about 3-4 oz depending on what so eat. I still always eat my Protein first and my bad carbs last. I take my Vitamins religiously and drink lots of Water.
My life is very happy and I’m still so glad with the choice I made for my life. Having no gallbladder has also been an easy transition. I’m between a size 10-12 and although I gained weight, all my clothes still fit. Exercise is what I’m lacking because I work from home now and have been working at 430am. That’s been making me tired.
Happy New Year... and Ill try to keep posting my updates as best as I can! Hope everyone is doing well...

Love your pics, you look awesome girl, keep up the good work! Don't let those 20 pounds linger they only add to more weight, my weight sneaked up on me so fast I couldn't control it because BED also came with it.

  2. Hi. It has taken a while. I had the duodenal switch in 2007. I started at 400 pounds. Got down to 265 and was stuck for years. 2015 I discovered my fitness pal and Bariatric Pal. I’m at 166 and still losing. My goal is 145 for a normal BMI. I am 5’4”

  3. I'm getting back into dating and not having the problems some are. Worst things so far have been lying about looks (she used old, old pics) and being sexted (I want to get to know someone and develop a relationship, not just jump into bed).

I used to avoid crowds or social settings because I was self conscious, etc. Now that I'm 120 down and not too far from my goal weight I'm feeling confident, like I have the world at my fingertips. 20 - 30 pounds ago I felt that way too. I'm doing activities I've always wanted to do, but didn't. All the dates I've been on have been one timers so far...either you connect or you don't.

So guys, you need to break out of your shells and start going outside your comfort zone. Live life instead letting life pass you by. I'm hoping to meet a great woman, but my happiness is not dependent on that.

As far as dates that don't revolve around food...hiking, going to a park, outdoor concerts, live music, coffee shops, lake kayaking, bike rides, snow tubing...I could go on and on.

There's much to do out in this great big world!! I'm going to die with memories, not wishing I had done this or that...I'm done with that way of life.

I have a premium package at planet fitness and I would think that's a good place for a date also, maybe on a Saturday afternoon. That's just what I thought. Might not be for you. HW 238, SW 209 CW 147

I went from a size 20 to a 12, and probably need a ten in jeans now. My shirts were 2X's and now I wear an XL or L, my bra size used to be a 42J and now I'm a 38D.

  5. I've had Constipation almost as long as I can remember. I even joined a medical group as a guinea pig to try a new drug and was tracked for 6 months, the medicine was not working either. I've been using a stool softener and a laxative, I've seen Smooth Move tea, but never tried it. Thank you so much for the info, I am definitely going to check it out.

  6. I was sleeved on June 21st and I my original weight was 238, my surgery weight was 209, so in the fourth month I'm down to 150 pounds as of today, I have gone from an 18-20 size down to a size 12. I don't exactly meet the food requirements that they have because my appetite is satisfied with such little portions of food. I didn't have any gas problems, not really much pain, my hair is only thinning out but I was taking Biotin right when I started my very first visit with the nutritionist, biotin has helped me alot, it grew my eyelashes, it helped my eyebrows grow back in, and I hear about people having their hair come out in clumps, but the surgery was easier than I thought it was I left the hospital the very next day.

  7. The more time you spend looking at what others are doing wrong the less time you have to focus on your own eating habits Portion Control and proper healthy choices will get you where you want to be. Looking at others to find their fault is why we didn't see our own faults, and how we got here in the first place. We are taught how to eat and what to avoid by our nutritionist and just need to follow instructions and we will lose weight. Maybe stay away from buffets to start with. I haven't been in a fast food restaurant in a long time, I drink more Water and I stay aware of the amount of carbs I eat also all without looking around to see if someone is as fat as me. Just practice what you learned and everything will fall into place. I also suggest the Big Book on Gastric Sleeve, or on whatever surgery you had it's very helpful. You can get it on Bariatric pal.com

  8. I am no one to judge because I would have gone to the buffet also because after the surgery you won't want a buffet for awhile. I tried to introduce regular foods even two months out and I've gone back to Protein Shakes for two meals a day because regular foods we're not working for me too well. I wanted to hit the casino for their crab legs buffet thinking I'm never going to want to spend that kind of money because I won't be able to eat like I used to. But with that being said I'm planning on buying lobster tails and I know I'll have leftovers because I know I can't eat like I used to. That's ok though I started this at 238 lbs, I had my procedure gastric sleeve at 209 current weight is 180, total weight loss total is 71 lbs to date. I can walk up to four miles in one workout and not want to die or call for a ride home so I'm happy with myself now but I'd like to lose another 60 lbs to be at my goal weight of about 120 or 110, see how I feel when I get a there.

  9. I'm still trying to learn and remember to eat slowly and still learning what I can handle and can't handle. food is a whole new thing now and my mom was against me having the wls in the first place and now that I can't hardly eat much when I do eat, I'm starting to feel like lying to her would be easier. Telling her I ate more than I really did. I shouldn't have to do this because I'm 56 and I'm tired of babying her about the whole situation but it's almost a necessity. Has anyone else been through this?

  10. I know this is something I want to do, but I'm nervous about the long term weight gain I have heard about. Is there information to read up on? I eat pretty intuitively/healthy now after a lifetime of yoyo dieting, but I don't want to undergo major surgery just to keep yoyo'ing. How is weight set point factored in with this surgery? Are their consequences to bariatric restriction like there are with dieting?

Just remember to eat your Protein first, I have shakes on hand and six star unflavored Protein Powder always on hand even Liquid Protein I can add to sf Jello, I'm two months

Doctor says I should be loosing more and I strayed for awhile when I was able to eat more foods but started getting back to protein and shakes and my weight is going back down slowly. We didn't gain it overnight so I don't expect to lose it overnight, I'm active about 3 or 4 days a week, exercising at the gym or alot of yard work at least 3 hours or more
