Good answerI think I have a vague understanding of why it works from how my doctor explained it to me. The part of the digestive system that creates the reflux is disconnected from the oesophagus and delivers the bile further down the system, meaning it can’t get back up and cause damage.
Please excuse the probably very bad explanation, but that was my (non-medical) understanding of it.

I'm hoping it will help relieve my reflux but at present I'm waiting for insurance to approve me.I just had a bypass as a revision from a sleeve. It was done about 6 weeks ago, and the sleeve about 10 years ago.
I had terrible reflux basically since the sleeve was done, as well as a hiatus hernia.
I have had zero reflux since the bypass was done! It definitely worked for me.

Try things like fudge pops no sugar added, they're good, also skinny cow has some good ice cream just dont eat it everyday or your gonna add weight back on quickly, also breyers has a low card ice cream bar with dark chocolate that I love. Good luck just remember it's a treat.I’m on the last leg of my Stage 1 Diet and I’m craving ice cream NOT popsicles but ice cream. Does anyone know if and when I can indulge?

Can anyone tell me your experiences revising from the sleeve to the bypass? I'm hoping it will relieve my acid reflux, but I've heard it doesn't work.

I agree if you want to stay successful you should be staying away from donuts and empty calorie foods totally. That's why there is only a 5%success rate. Not to be an ass but some of you aren’t sappose to be even eating these Foods this early.Triscuts and Doughnuts maybe in 11 Months or so ???

Was the bypass harder to get used to? I also am revising from the sleeve because of a hiatal hernia and terrible acid reflux.I am 70 and just had it done on Monday. It was a revision from the Gastric Sleeve that I had about 10 years ago.

Cottage cheese and peaches and greek yogurt are my rescue foods also. There are days when I eat food, but there are days that every time I think about food I get nauseous. Dont be afraid to stay on a lighter diet when this happens. Sometimes you have to go back to lighter diet and slowly add things back to your diet. I'm on my 3rd year after having the sleeve and I've learned to pay attention to my stomach more.I'm so glad this topic came up. I am 3 months out and it seems like whenever I eat solids - like meat or even a quiche, I get nauseous and start having pain. smoothies and Protein Drinks are fine, but it seems like I've gone backwards. I was eating pretty well a month ago, and now everything just hurts or makes me feel miserable enough to just go back on liquids. I try to eat slowly and really chew everything to mush, but maybe it is still just too much food. It's very frustrating, because I can eat 3 bits just fine. I feel great and then I eat the next 3 bites and it's disaster. So I guess I just need to stick with 3 bites and keep the Protein supplements going. It makes me want to avoid solids altogether. At this rate, it doesn't seem like I will ever be able to get enough Protein from food sources alone. Cottage cheese and yoghurt are my life savers right now. Does this get better?
I was 238, surgery at 209,
The smallest I got was 142, I gained back about 25 pounds but when I'm strict with my snacking I can now easily lose weight like when I was 40 but I'm 57 and the sleeve is a good surgery but I have to revise to bypass surgery due to acid reflux.

NoI'm sorry you have to go under the knife again. The bypass will serve you well and be totally worth it. Same surgeon?

I just today made sf Jello and I added a scoop of the elevation vanilla to my jello after I finished putting in the cold Water. It's not clear jello but at least it settles my binge eating at night and I dont add empty calories. It's a win win!

Yeah I go through spurts where anything goes but it usually makes me nauseous eventually and my cravings soon go away. If I stick to the menu they gave me from the get go I always feel full and I dont get cravings for junk food or fast food.I WISH I had an aversion! lol so far nothing is off limits in small portion of course.
