When my alarm goes off telling me to eat something. I do t feel hungry and could go all day with out eating as long as I am drinking.

13 weeks. However, the gurgling stopped about a month that ago
Oh ok. I'm 10 weeks so maybe it will ease up some. It's woke me up before it was that loud. Lol.

I was told that my new stomach would make noises a lot... it did in the beginning but not any more
How long ago did you have surgery?
-
At 5 days I just worked on getting the shakes and Water down. I would have some broth too and mixed unflavored Protein Powder in it.

I'm 10 weeks post op and every time I eat or drink my stomach still makes the gurgling grumbling sounds. Everyone that I'm normally around knows I had surgery and they laugh with me when it makes noises but when I'm somewhere and it does it people look at me. It's loud when it does it. How long will it do that? Other than the looks I get at times it doesn't bother me... my son thinks it's funny because I talk back to it sometimes and tell it to stop complain at least it's not chicken broth.

I have never heard of caffeine as a hunger stimulant. That's really strange since many "diet pills" and appetite suppressants contain caffeine.
I thought the same thing but then I thought who am I to argue, I don't have an MD behind my name. LOL.

Some of that's probably fluids given by IV in the hospital. When I came home I weighed more than when I went in and dropped almost 10lbs that week.

I told my co workers because were a small office and were all pretty close. I told a few friends (the ones I see often) and my immediate family. My son is in the army and not stationed close by so I didn't tell him until after surgery and I was home. Didn't want him worrying. Oldest son and daughter in law knew but I threatened them within an inch of their lives not to tell the other son. LOL.

After reading this thread I have decided to have coffee and it is DIVINE! It feels so normal and comforting. I love sitting on my front porch with a cup watching the deer and birds. Ahhhhh!
You could be my twin. I do the same thing on the weekends. Nice cup of coffee watching the deer, hummingbirds and my crazy outside cats.

I think most Chai Tea is high in sugar. I would be more worried about the calories and sugar than the caffeine. You could get the chai tea from trader joes, and make your own.

Like Big Viffer said, ask you Dr.
I bought the chia tea bags and have fat free milk or almond milk. I wasn't about to add any sugar. I'll call them tomorrow or text my NUT and see what she says. I was allowed coffee the day after surgery. Did I drink it....NO! I didn't try it until I hit 7 weeks post op which was last week.

I will be one week out on Thursday and I am struggling like you, I feel overly emotional, helpless (I'm normally a very in charge person) and weak. For me it's pain making me unable to get all my fluids of all kinds in. It's mostly left side pain, Has anyone else experienced this in the beginning of post op???
I hurt on my left side for 5 weeks or so. Surgeon said that's because she did more on that side and the 2 incisions are larger than the one on my right side. My stomach was removed through the incision by my belly button.

I lost it the 2nd day, 2x's the first week, once the 2nd week and once the 3rd week when I went back to work. I was told to expect "buyers remorse". So when it hit, I lost it, scared my family and then moved on cause I knew it was pretty much normal. I'm 2 days shy of 8 weeks post op and I have to say, it's much easier to drink and eat now. I still don't get the full 64oz of Water but I get between 50 and 60 and my surgeon said that is good. She said it will increase as time goes on.

I'm two days shy of being 2 months post op. I have been craving a chia latte for 3 weeks now. I recently started coffee back but am doing Decaf. I'm wondering if the no caffeine still applies at 2 months post op. I googled chia tea and it's 40mg of caffeine where regular coffee has 120. Still not sure if I should try. Anyone know what the rule is for caffeine once your on regular food and getting all your fluids in???

I got my Vitamins through my surgeon. She called them into nutrition direct. $25 and I get them all delivered to my house once a month. Super easy. The Protein Shakes I use is the Premier Protein chocolate, vanilla and caramel. I also got the Syntrax Nectar Fuzzy Navel (I tried the grape and the caribbean cooler and the fuzzy navel was the best to me). I didn't notice a change in my taste. I had used the pure Protein banana cream and still don't have an issue with the taste. It's the thickness I couldn't deal with. I'm 6 weeks post op and may try it again and see how it is.

I had surgery on April 13th and I still don't feel hungry. I had to set alarms on my phone to remind myself to eat. It's crazy. I struggled with the Water but it's gotten better. I get 50 oz a day but I have to really work at it (remember). The only thing I have craved is pizza (because every other commercial on tv is a pizza commercial). Saw my surgeon Tuesday for 6 week check and am cleared for regular diet but mentally I'm not ready. Thought I was but it kinda freaks me out a little so I'm still eating the deli meats and tuna and an occasional shake. Oh and I got the crazy look at Subway when I ordered a 6 inch sandwich with no bread, no Condiments and no veggies. Hahaha.

I had acrylic nails and they had no issues with them.

My Bariatric PA just told me about mixing Premier Protein vanilla with cool brew coffee with a bit of sugar free flavoring and I have to say. I'm a coffee snob and this tastes awesome. PLUS YOU GET YOUR 30 gms of protein! WIN WIN!
Can you post how to make???

The link didn't appear (grateful).
Hmm I might try it and see. If it hurts I'll wait. I am having no issues drinking pretty fast now. The smell of the shakes grosses me out. Distance via a straw would be good. Thanks
I put my shake in a yeti tumbler with a lid. Helps with the smell. The smell of them gives me a blah feeling. The lid helps block the smell.

I was using this prior to surgery. I like the strawberry orange banana flavor too.
