I was diagnosed with a cystocele and rectocele. Had them repaired Tuesday 11/20. Has anyone else has this issue? Seems like it all hit after my gastric sleeve I had a year and half ago. I just wondered if anyone has had surgery to correct those and what your experience was. I’m not sure everything I’m feeling is normal. Dr compared it to giving birth but I’m sorry, it’s been nothing like giving birth. And yes I’ll be calling my girly Dr tomorrow to ask questions.

Torani makes a sugar free pumpkin spice. I bought some from their website. On 09/14/2018 at 15:45, GreenTealael said:
Complaint:
I can't seem to find pumpkin spice sugar free syrups, they know how popular the flavor is, why isn't available sugar free?
Suggestion:
I think I'll dabble with making my own 😓

When I want something different I drink a Bai drink. The coconut is awesome and their Watermelon or Blueberry are great too.

I think I’ll order some. I was drinking shakes but I can’t drink more than one a day. I figured if I could add some protein to other things I eat it would help boost my intake. On 09/17/2018 at 09:35, Matt Z said: -
My surgeon gave me an rx for omeprazole. Cost me $3.95 for 30. Much cheaper than buying over the counter. I did buy some at Sam’s for backup Incase Im close to running out and forget to fill it.

I’m looking for a good unflavored Protein that mixes well. I want to add it to my yogurt/coffee/soup. I had some right after surgery but even though it said unflavored you could taste a difference. Also it didn’t blend well. Any ideas is appreciated.

Mine gained weight because he was eating all my left overs and had more helpings at home because i don’t get as much as I had before surgery. Finally clicked while we were on vacay. He could not figure out why he had put on 30lbs that year after and was eating off my plate at a restaurant and it actually hit me at that point. I said OMG you’ve gained because your eating your plate and the 3/4 to 1/2 of mine. Hahahaha!! He stopped eating my leftovers and started measuring his food at home.

This may be a dumb question but what. temprature should you drink your shakes at? Should theynbe room temperature, chilled in the refrigerator, over ice or even half-frozen? . Should they be mixed with unsweetened yogurt or flavorings added? Please veterans give me your input or are clear fruit tasting Protein liquids better?

I drink mine out of the fridge. If I use a powder one I mix it and then add ice after. Only thing I add to mine is coffee in my vanilla or caramel to make a latte.

Mhy12784 No I only intend on drinking a normal size glass. Lol. I had the sleeve so I was thinking it wouldn’t affect me like the people with a bypass has. Honestly the only think I’ve noticed a difference with is sugar. I don’t have the dumping when I eat some but I do feel kinda blah.

I did a 2 week liquid diet. Strictly liquid. I lived on shakes, sugar free Jello, chicken and beef broth. First couple days were tough and i stayed closed up in my bedroom at dinner time and at work I told everyone not to come around me with food or ask me what I was doing at lunch. By the 2nd week it was a breeze. I even cooked dinner for my family a couple times. Good luck with your surgery. It’s been the best thing I have ever done for myself.

I bought toddler cups prior to surgery and drank out of the little 4 oz cups for months. In 3 weeks I’ll be one year post op and I still take 2 hours or more to drink 32oz of Water.

I’ve been alcohol free for a year now. I’m planning on meeting up with some friends after work tomorrow and I plan on having a drink. I’ve read other posts about drinking after surgery but don’t remember seeing where anyone said how fast or hard the alcohol will hit you. I don’t plan on driving at all but I also don’t want to look like a blathering idiot after half a glass of wine. Any info someone can pass on from their experiences I would greatly appreciate.

I've been lucky...I haven't puked and it will be one year since surgery on April 13th. I hate throwing up!

Has anyone used Thrive after having weight loss surgery? I have friends that use it (that have not had weight loss surgery) and they swear by it. They say it gives them more energy and have lost some weight using it. I don't have an issue loosing weight but I would like to have a little more energy.

@alli.wakefield I'm the same way. That apple commercial that came on last Christmas made me cry every time and that was prior to my surgery. I cried way more after surgery but it's leveled out now. I don't bust out crying for no reason or snapping heads off while at work either. Which makes everyone here more comfortable. LOL

10 minutes ago, Creekimp13 said:My doc said in a pre-surg seminar that about once a week someone bursts into tears at the hospital and says they wish they hadn't had surgery. LOL. It can be emotional, stressful, scary...for a lot of folks.
Oh the day after my surgery when they took me to do the leak test I got nauseated and threw up and then lost it and started crying saying "why did I do this to myself" over and over. My poor husband had no clue what to do and ran and got the nurse who I heard telling him "buyers remorse is normal" as they were walking in the room.

My surgeon and girly dr both told me that hormones are stored in fat and when we start loosing weight quickly all the hormones from the lost fat floods the system. I had emotional break downs and horrible horrible anger out bursts. I'd be happy one moment and wanting to kills someone the next and then crying about it 30 minute later. From conversations with both dr.'s it's pretty common and you just have to ride it out till it evens out. I'm 8 months out now and it's gotten way better. Good luck on your journey!!

I have an incredible tempurpedic with a bajillion pillows. But I also have a joint autoimmune condition so it’s probably a shitty combo of less padding and my ankylosing spondylitis. It sucks but I’ll take it over being fat and sweaty 24/7 lol
I agree. I take my ache joints over that as well. I have noticed I get cold now. I have to run my heater at work and I’m going to have to invest in a real coat this winter. Lol.
-
@KateBruin I do that. I have tons of pillows. I guess it’s not an abnormal thing. I thought it was maybe my mattress but it’s only 3 years old and cost more $$ than I want to admit. Lol. Maybe as time goes my body will adjust to having less padding.

I’m sure it has something to do with the weight loss but I can’t sleep on my sides for long periods of time because my hips and knees will start to hurt and wakes me up. Strange that it’s done it since I lost 85lbs. You would think it would have done that when I was over 300lbs. Anyone else have this issue and what did you do for it. I’m a side sleeper and sleeping on my back is killing me.

I also work 9-5 in an office setting. I was planning to take one week off work. I'm hoping that is enough time.
I work in an office setting and took two weeks. After I went back I wish I had taken the 3rd week like most recommended. Around 1 I was useless and had absolutely no energy. It’s also hard to get back in the swing of things when your having to remember to drink fluids and trying to get all your work done. I wound up working 2 full days that week and by Wednesday decided to work half days and then took that Friday off (it’s a four hour work day anyway). I was exhausted that entire week.

I’ve already had it done but I’m only 50/60 lbs from my goal weight so hopefully it won’t cause issues when I get there. I will say after having it done I was worried about gaining weight because I can’t exercise but it’s a struggle to eat. I just don’t feel like it.
