  1. I am American living in Europe and you will be just fine. The food here is better quality. You have plenty of protein choices. You will also have plenty of smoothie type options. The food here is more natural and they use very little sugar and salt. Of course they have the bad options that are so yummy lol, but there is so many healthy options as well. You will be so busy seeing sites and the beauty around you that food will take a back seat. Sent from my SM-G900F using BariatricPal mobile app

    Day 1 post op

I threw up blood the first day constantly also. It was horrible. Now I am 15 days post op....16 pounds down since surgery...and cleared for mushed food. It is so nice to be feeling great and able to eat! I am glad you are feeling better.
  4. I am 8 days out and so HUNGRY! I know what head hunger is and that is not what this is. My stomach is growling and the fluids (water, broth of all kinds) & Protein are not filling me up. I can drink about 3/4 cup in less than 15 minutes. I feel full (it doesn't hurt but I can feel the fullness). Less than 20 minutes later I am hungry again. I end up heating up a cup of stuff each time bc I know within a couple hours it will all be gone. Is this normal?!?! I wrote my nutrionist that my surgeon requires me to work with but I honestly think she is a dingbat. I just want more of something....eggs sound so good and maybe some applesauce. I see people that had both the day they left the hospital and I don't understand why the phases of food are so drastic between surgeons. I honestly am depressed that I have to do this another 6 days. It doesn't seem like a long time, but to someone who is hungry it is I am doing really well with recovery. I haven't had pain meds since day 2, I sleep all night like 7 hours at least, I have zero pain. I have been up and living life since day 3. I cut grass, pulled weeds, went shopping, went to an amusement park (no rides though). So I'm being active...I just want to eat!

    Sharp spasm pain

I get this also. It is getting better by the day. I had my surgery on the 4th.
  6. How far out are you and did you have the sleeve? Sometimes I get confused on this forum bc people post in the wrong area. I am 1 week out from the sleeve surgery. I have been tolerating fluids and protein shakes fine. It is hard to get them all in though. I do feel like I could eat real food. I am not hungry, but just feel like I need to put something other than liquid in my body. I don't know if that is normal or not at this point. Honestly at this point I don't even feel as if I had surgery other than being able to see my incisions and knowing I need to only drink liquids. I even went to an amusement park Sunday and walked around all day with no problems. I drove myself to the store yesterday and went shopping. I have cleaned my house numerous times and even cut grass outside with the push mower (it's super light). I am not worried bc I do not hurt at all. I stopped pain meds on day 2 and gas medicine on day 4. I had 2 bowel movements already even with just the liquid phase. I'm starting to wonder if I am abnormal lol and I don't feel like I have lost any weight which is depressing. I refuse to buy a scale though so I am judging by my clothes and my looks. I sometimes wonder how people say they lost 10 to 20 pounds the first week. Just sitting over here bored and wondering if I should have chose bypass instead.
  7. I had my surgery on April 4th at 5 pm here in the UK. I spent 48 hours in the hospital on fluids as I was unable to keep anything down for the first 24 hours. I swear it was due to the pain meds. I was vomiting blood. I was able to shower and walk around, but continually felt sick to my stomach. Finally, Thursday I refused pain meds and have felt good. I'm not sick to my stomach any more and I have not thrown up. I even went to the store Friday and walked around. I have 4 incisions which itch more than they are sore. I do have a few problems though. My first problem I am having is under my left breast I have this huge amount of pressure (almost feels as if I pulled a muscle). I also get this pressure when I eat or drink. Is this normal? My surgeon said it could be gas build-up still but I constantly burp lol. My second problem is...and I keep seeing different amounts...my water intake (it took me all day to get in 250ml). I just can not seem to do it. After a few tiny sips I get a horrible pressure in my chest. I'm not using a straw and am drinking really tiny sips. Is the pressure normal? I am able to eat a few tiny bites of jello and I drank some broth (about 30ml). I just feel like I am hurting myself bc thats all I have had since Monday (other than iv fluids). I am 4 days out so should I be adding in protein?

I feel that same way when I drink. It is weird. I feel it getting better though. 40 ounces is great in my opinion. I am finding it so hard to get in all my fluids. Like you I was hoping to see some weight loss but right now (6 days out) I feel and look no different. I refuse to step on a scale and get depressed so I haven't even attempted it. I am sad and wondering if I should have chose a bypass instead I just pray I did not do all this to lose no weight or just a small amount. I was praying it would help me loose at least 60 pounds over the next 6 months or so.

APRIL 3, 2017 WLS SUPPORT GROUP

I had surgery on April 4 and feel great. The first 24 hours was hard as I kept vomiting blood. I refused pain meds and all the sudden the vomiting stopped. My last dose of pain meds was late afternoon April 5. I got out the hospital April 6 and came home. I feel like my normal self. I keep forgetting my incisions are there and will go to do something (vacum, laundry, just bend down) & then they become sore for a few seconds. The surgeon told me it would take a lot for them to open though and there is no blood so I'm not stressing it. I have been shopping and today went to an amusement park (no rides for me though just walking). The only problem I am having is not getting enough fluids in. I'm finding it so hard no matter how much I sip sip sip and I'm hungry....not head hungry...I'm hungry. I'm not starving, but I feel like I could actually eat. I have not got on a scale bc honestly the number is not what matters to me. I just want to look in the mirror and say "hot damn" and feel better (energy wise). I can say that at this moment I do not feel any different weight wise.

    4 days Post Op

The pain under my left breast went away. I guess it was just how I had slept the night before. Thank Goodness. I walked about 2 miles yesterday (to the park with my son. I just can't sit home). I also went to the store and walked around. My friends came to visit so of course before hand I had to vaccum my house. So I have been very active which I think is helping me. My incision sites are a tad sore, but more itchy than anything (I am told this is a sign of healing). I feel great (have not had pain meds since the day after surgery) other than the fact that I just can't seem to drink enough. I got in about 400ml of water & about 60 ml of jello (I can't tolerate sugar free, but the normal one I can tolerate just fine). I also drank about 60 ml of the chocolate slim fast protein shake (which does not taste bad at all). I am 5 days out (Surgery was this past Tuesday late afternoon). It is getting better every day. I just pray I do not get dehydrated. I also pray that the smell of food doesn't make me cave because at the moment I'm not hungry at all, but as soon as I smell something delicious I want a bite
