  4. I had Insurance the standard pre-authorisation requirements including a weight loss programme etc. Did I make any changes that led to weight loss? I'd say not really if I'm totally honest apart from cutting coffee back to almost nothing, giving up the soda, and being much more aware of what I was eating. The real reason for giving up the coffee though was to make the pre-op and post op diets more manageable. I've been on the pre-op diet for almost two weeks. I've stuck to that, I've been quite motivated to make sure I arrive at surgery as per my surgeon's requirements. I suppose all of the education around eating healthily will probably only come through after surgery. The pre-op diet has been a tough "reset" for me, but it has taken my surgeon's strict requirements to get me to make changes rather than the weight management meetings a few months ago.
  5. It's a couple of months since I had my endoscopy, but I was sedated for it. I thought going into it that I would be awake and just given a throat spray, but on the morning of the procedure my surgeon said his standard is now to sedate, although that varies from practice to practice I think. I had no pain or discomfort after it whatsoever.

    Calling March Sleevers

I'm now halfway through my 16 day pre op and finding that my moods are all over the place and I'm definitely more irritable than normal.
  8. I'm just a little ahead of you in that I'm scheduled for March 6th and I started a similar pre op diet last Sunday. I did find the first 2 or 3 days tough and had to distract myself a few evenings to keep away from the fridge. I'd say my energy levels are back to normal now after the initial few days, but I think my concentration levels aren't great at times, so don't go making any big life decisions during this time as you may experience a little "brain fog"! I can't say that I have had a lot of cravings over the diet so far as you stay on a pretty even keel rather than the highs and lows of a high carb diet. The only negative so far is probably that the food is boring at the moment, but that's a very small issue when compared to the big and exciting changes that the surgery will bring

    Any March 2018 Sleevers?

The first day or so was tough, just getting the routine going and getting used to drinking all of the water also.

    Any March 2018 Sleevers?

Snap! I'm March 6th also. I'm 3 days into my 16 day preop diet, which is 14 days on protein shakes + meat/veggies. I'm finding it ok during the day, but a bit tougher in the evenings.

    Any March 2018 Sleevers?

March 6th for me! I've a 16 day pre surgery plan to start on Sunday next, 12 days of low (zero) carb and a 2 day liquid diet. I'm not sure how I'm going to juggle the time off work yet, but hopefully I'll get it sorted next week. I think that because I'm about to start the pre surgery diet, it is suddenly making it feel a lot more real! Sent from my SM-G935F using BariatricPal mobile app

    March 2018 VSG

When I spoke to my dietician about potentially doing the pre op diet for more that the 2 weeks so I could make the best preparation possible, she closed me down fairly quickly and said not to do that as most people could only reliably stay on it for the 2 weeks. If I have tried to do it for longer, I might have put myself at risk of "falling off the wagon" in the week prior to surgery. I'm in a space now where I'm just hanging around, not being too aggressive on the diet, just trying to stay away from junk food. Sent from my SM-G935F using BariatricPal mobile app
  15. You'll be starting the pre op diet in about 2 weeks so - did you get any details from your programme yet? Sent from my SM-G935F using BariatricPal mobile app
  16. That's great news for you to have certainty on the date. You're up for surgery the day before me, so I'll be looking forward to your updates!

Hi there, I'm having the sleeve also on March 6th, just a few days before you! I'm trying to get preparations underway at the moment, getting anything I need for the pre op diet sorted out, but I'm not starting that until 18th February. Sent from my SM-T810 using BariatricPal mobile app
  18. I know your frustration, as I was in that headspace until two weeks ago when my Insurance approval finally came through after about 9 months since starting the process. Within the space of those two weeks I've met my surgeon to schedule surgery for 6th March and my dietician to go through the pre op 16 day diet. You're almost there! Like you, I found the last two months particularly difficult as it seemed there were nothing but obstacles constantly being put in my way, so keep calm and you'll get there!
