  1. CleosMom- yesterday I pbed on 5 Peanut Butter pretzel nuggets. ugh. I had them several times before, but it was russian roulette this time! (and the last time!)

after that I had alreday consumed some mashed potatoes thinking it was ok to be on soft foods- until I read the post someone left me...

I am not on Dr's orders, just trying to be careful as others on the site warned me to be. I know I am not 100% due to feeling that weird feeling every time I swallow.

I have had 2 Protein shakes today, and I can feel each sip- atually feel it as it travels down... like it's rubbing against my esophagus feeling... I don't know how to explain it : (

All I know is if I pb again anytime soon- it will be the end of me.

I am taking it one hour at a time, seeing how I feel and hoping things improve and praying I will be able to eat solids real soon!

  2. Need some creative advice here...

it's such a bummer to have had these dinner plans for weeks with friends and now after an unpleasant "pb", I am on liquids.

I know for sure the new place everyone has been dying to go to does not serve soup- it's a BBQ place.

I am not going to spoil everyone's fun and change the place- but how akward for me to make some story up why I can't eat! what to do? what to do?

(these are ppl who don't know)

  3. I have had these Peanut Butter and pretzel nugget thingys before, but today they did not agree with me. I pbed my brains out this afternoon over 5 of them and that was enough that I will never eat them again!

Now, 3 hours later I am attempting to drink something and it goes down with much gurgling...and I feel "bruised"

I am too traumatized to eat real food and will be sticking to mushies tonight for dinner.

I know if I slipped, nothing would go down...I am not in pain, just feel this feeling - any one know what this is?

  4. the doughy pizza bread probaby swells too much and causes fullness

try just eating the cheese and sauce

you are talking to someone that had papa john on speed dial and could consume an entire pie in one night alone

sometimes i make no noodle lasagna- low fat ricotta cheese, Pasta sauce and mozzerella- after a while you don't notice there are no noodles and it's just fine

there are ways to enjoy italian food in new ways

  5. I have been indulging in matzah with weight watchers cream cheese. So far I have not gotten stuck. It's nice to get full after one piece and not eat the whole box though!

I am also questioning Mtazo brei- anyone try it?

However, I am afraid to attempt matzo balls. Are they alreday expanded or is it dangerous?

Challah- I am terrified of as all other breads- which even if I was "allowed" to have it- it's a blessing in disguise that I have just obstained!

I alreday know to stay away from the carrots!

  6. I think that the crackers were just sitting there and gobbing on top of eachother inside me and not moving and plugging me up. Maybe too dry? or too starchy? who knows?!!?

Kind of funny how food can look so delicious but it completely changes your desire for it once you have experienced purged out of you and in a chewed up version!

Just had some chicken and pinto Beans tonight after all day friday and all day saturday on Protein shakes and soup!!!

I was nervous to try real food, but it was enough with the Protein shakes!

  7. I am like a dog ona short leash with this lap band. I was very busy and didn't eat enough today so I just decided to snack on a few saltines thinking oh they easily will go down...wrong!

Why oh why? I just threw them up in that heaving kind of way : (

ouch- I thought we could eat crackers- why did this happen? now I can hear that "digestive gurgling sound" and some burping

    so much for being hungry

  8. uh oh. I take advil all the time, at least a few times a momth. I don't recall ever being told not to take it. In fact, I asked the nurse one at my doctors office if I could take the liquid gels and she said try the tablets but chop them up.

What else can I take for pain releif? The baby aspirin is not strong enough for me and I can't take the liquid tylenol because I bleach my teeth and the dye stains.

  9. Hey Julie,

50 lbs is a lot of weight to lose! I know it's hard because it would be so awesome if the weight magically came off- but for some of us it is a struggle!

1.Try re focusing- get out your old photos of the old you and hang them up on your mirrors, fridge, even in your car. It will remind you of where you were and how much you have changed since. It might help you when you have those urges to fall back into old habits.

    2. If you aren't able to excercise as much- you got to figure out a way to eat better. Try some low cal foods that you can "fill" up on so you don't feel deprived.

    Here are some:

    egg white crepe

spray pam in a pan, put in some egg whites make them really flat, then sprinkle splenda and cinnamon- see if you like it

    Isopure shake

    Isopure low carb chocolate powder

    ff milk

    tsp Peanut Butter

    ice

    blend till smooth

    fake lasagna

    low fat riccotta cheese

    low fat tomatoe sauce

    kraft parm cheese

    heat in microwave

sugar free, fat free pudding or fudgiscles

last but not least, make sure you are drinking at LEAST 64 oz. of Water a day so you can flush the fat out of your system. You can even use crystal light if you need to- but keep drinking!

  10. IMO (In My Opinion) the only way I would be able to do weight watchers or even eat a lean cusine meal is with a lap band! :hurray:

I have done weight watchers in the past and what didn't work for me was too much freedom over food

sometimes "food addicts" can't handle certain foods and crave more and more

example- ww makes their own Snacks and bars- I could never stop at just 1 package!

it depends on the food- because somethings can still go down eay even with the band! it's all about the food chemistry!

  11. I have a big event coming up that I would love to send some lbs. on a vacation.

Does anyone have any experience with these?

I know they are not permanent and not something to take all the time. I just really need to get to the next level and push this pudge outta me!

So, if you ever had any success, please tell me what brand you used.

Also please tell me if you had same success with other diuretics like tea or food ones or if the pills are stronger

p.s. I just bought the natural ones from whole foods and the pills were horse pills and I tired a pill splitter that didn't turn out so well- so I am returning them.

  12. Day 3 is like the infamous post banded crying day. I did the exact same thing!

I think day 1 and 2 are shock and pain days and then day 3 is the Oh my God I can't believe it day-

I even thought about it today- but I know somewhere deep down inside I would not have this control without the band, no matter what my good intentions are. Nothing else in the world could keep me away from certain foods. Well, unless I wore a band permanently around my mouth!

It is the hunger control that is worth its weight in gold.

Right now you did it and there isn't any turning back at this exact moment- so give it a try- the beauty of this vs. gastric is that it's reversible

  13. I notice this has been happening quite a bit lately!

I get really nervous eating out with friends because everyone is eating so fast and I get "nervous" that they are going to notice I am taking my sweet time!

Last night I ordered a cup of soup- hoping the warm broth would open me up a little so I could eat without any problems, but then my dinner came (1/4 rotisserie chicken, vetables and mashed potatoes) AND I totally pbed from one bite! I was extra careful to chewing- but I just get so nervous! By the time I was done with my Soup broth- they were done with their meals and by the time I was out of the bathroom it's even MORE awkward because I have to get a to go box and everyone is wondering why I didn't eat!

This happens quite often and I don't know what to do because they are going to think I am really weird or anorexic and bulemic! (don't really want everyone to know about my band- because no one who doesn't have the band could possibly understand all this craziness)

It really is like russian roulette with me- not knowing when I can eat and when I can't!

I don't want to become some social recluse that can't eat out with friends! and just ordering Soup all the time and slider foods isn't going to help my weight!

If anyone out there has gone thru this and can relate and offer some advice- please please help me!
