  1. I had mine at Rose! Who's your surgeon? Mine was Dr. Snyder. Have you thought about attending the support group?
  2. Honestly, a cooler full of shakes is your best bet. You could try baby food, though. I know purée is tough and I grew to hate it toward the end, but shakes are your lifeblood.
  3. I never realized before surgery how much of my social life revolves around food. All my thin friends always want to go to restaurants, and I used to think it was just me. People also are surprisingly pushy about getting me to drink alcohol, like I'm some sort of weirdo if I don't get a drink. They're always asking when I can eat or drink things. "Let me know when you can ______!" I also had no idea that after surgery you can't take ibuprofen (used to eat it like candy), that I would have to separate eating and drinking liquids, and that soup is a bad idea. The pre-op class was really surprising for me. The salad thing also surprised me but I can eat a little salad with my other food just fine, and straws and diet soda don't really cause me any issues. I'm fortunate that I haven't found anything I can't eat yet. I ate popcorn at the movies this weekend (got a kids' pack) and diet soda and was perfectly fine.
  4. I'm at 8 weeks and I ate popcorn successfully this weekend, but ymmv.
  5. 6/30/17 292.6 Yay I hit the 30 lbs lost mark! Stall over!
  6. Mine doesn't stink more - it's just way more green.
  7. I'm not losing very fast either. I look at all these people who got their surgery around the same time as me and are at 40-45 lbs lost and I wonder what I did wrong to lose only 28 in the same time. It's disheartening.
  8. You're way ahead of me... I also had my surgery on May 8th and I've lost only 28 lbs (started at 323). Don't stress, you're losing fast!
  9. Dry mouth spray IN the hospital. #1 thing I needed. At home you just need clear liquids in your kitchen. I liked what someone said above about making sure all errands and chores are already done. My dad stayed with me a couple nights after I got home but I was pretty mobile.
  10. I was told no bc pills period after surgery. I have the Mirena iud and it's great so far. I've never had kids or gotten pregnant and my dr suggested it to me.
  11. I was away on a trip without internet (Yellowstone) 6/25 296.2 Better be water weight
  12. I'm in Denver too! I had my procedure done at Rose. (Obviously a while away from goal). Who was your bariatric surgeon?
  13. I want to join! Current weight: 294.8 Goal weight for this challenge: 270.8
  14. Lexington1020 called them first, so she has first dibs. Pigluva, you're next in line unless she agrees to share them (you guys determine who gets what in that case).
  15. Box of free soups, most with one packet missing. Stuff I either tried and didn't like, or stuff I don't want anymore now that I'm off the liquid diet. Free - just pay shipping to me via PayPal.
  16. Can you add me? BloodyMary1984
  17. Thank you long termers!
  18. I had mine on May 8th but I'd still love to be buddies!
