    Headaches

Dehydration can cause severe headaches. I got dehydrated even though I was drinking plenty of water because my sodium intake got too low. The water was passing through and not going into my blood/tissues. Check your micronutrients on your food journaling to see if all your electrolytes from food and vitamins meet daily values. Sodium isn't in vitamins because so much is added to processed foods. However all the foods I was eating were low in sodium. I was only hitting about 45% of my RDA. HEYLP! Blue collar lunch?!

Hard boiled eggs or edamame and garbanzo bean salad. Soups in a thermos. Yogurt frozen before you pack it. If you can stomach it at the point chicken salad made with plain Greek yogurt or smashed avacodo. HW-292 • SW (6/29/17) 256.6 • CW 230.2

The small things people take for granted are nice to be able to do. I've lost a total of 63lbs from my highest. I've been lucky to only have to buy new jeans. I mostly wear dresses and they are very forgiving when losing weight. HW-292 • SW (6/29/17) 256.6 • CW 230.2

    Sex after RNY?

I waited three weeks and used a pillow to support my stomach. I was back to normal at four weeks. HW-292 • SW (6/29/17) 256.6 • CW 231.8

    Water

I was thinking about taking a step back to puréed phase for a couple of weeks then trying again. HW-292 • SW (6/29/17) 256.6 • CW 231.8

    Water

It's more of a food staying in my stomach for so long that there is no room for fluids of any kind for hours. HW-292 • SW (6/29/17) 256.6 • CW 231.8

    Water

If what I eat isn't puréed consistency, I have to wait a minimum of two hours before I can drink. Something dense and it's closer to four or five hours. I have a bypass. Maybe that makes for more of a difference. I know that the opening to my intestines was narrowed as was from my esophagus to my stomach. HW-292 • SW (6/29/17) 256.6 • CW 231.8
  11. Ask your nutritionist if you can have egg drop soup. I was because it's just eggs and broth. Add in a dash of hot sauce. Yum yum. I also constantly had water with me to sip all day, which helps prepare you for sipping all day after surgery. HW-292 • SW (6/29/17) 256.6 • CW 234.2
  12. The only pill I don't swallow whole is my multivitamin. I cut that in half. General guideline for cut tablet in half is if it has a score in it, it can be cut. Crushing medicine you need to check with a pharmacist. HW-292 • SW (6/29/17) 256.6 • CW 234.2

  14. My humidifier tank on my CPAP is leaking. Until the replacement comes in I have been waking up so incredibly thirsty. I actually have to drink a liter of water the first hour and a half I'm awake before I feel better. Even with the humidifier on I'm thirsty so this is terrible. It even wakes me up in the night needing to drink. HW-292 • SW (6/29/17) 256.6 • CW 240.8

    So thirsty in morning

    I drink 70-90oz a day. Now that I have my new tank I'm not having problems anymore. HW-292 • SW (6/29/17) 256.6 • CW 240.8
  16. I'm four weeks out and I find most beans easy to eat. Cottage cheese is easy for me also. Denser stuff has been no go for me. Avocado and hummus with soft egg works for me also. HW-292 • SW (6/29/17) 256.6 • CW 240.8

    Getting back into things

I've finally been able to start back up with part of my former exercise routine. Yesterday and today I workouted out on the exercise bike. I'm anxiously awaiting when I can resume swimming. Prior to surgery I generally swam an hour of laps three to four days a week. I can't walk very well due to a genetic skin condition that causes extreme blistering on my feet even with short distances, so getting exercise in the first three weeks post op has been limited. Getting back into things

I actually never found swimming hard as a large person. I grew up as a competitive swimmer. I always laugh to myself when these super fit guys would be in awe of the 280 pound woman lapping them, doing butterfly and flip turns. It was heartening to know that because of me they could see that just because someone is obese that they can also be physically fit. HW-292 • SW (6/29/17) 256.6 • CW 240.8

    Stall at 8 months WTH

I didn't think people could process/use more than 30gms of protein in one go. You may want to space that protein out over the course of the day a bit better. HW-292 • SW (6/29/17) 256.6 • CW 240.8
  21. This back sleeping is killing me. I've tried using a wedge and not using a wedge. I've tried supporting my belly with pillows. It hurts my stomach too much to sleep on my side and my hips hurt when I'm on my back too long. I am a roller and sleeping in one position is not working. HW-292 • SW (6/29/17) 256.6 • CW 243.2

  23. I ate 1.5 oz of fish this afternoon. It was my first bit of something soft and I still feel like it's sitting in my stomach five hours later. I'm guessing this is a sign I should go back to purée for a bit longer. Drinking fluid is uncomfortable for the first time since surgery. Now I'm not sure if I will get my protein in today. Oh well. Lesson learned. Next time I try soft food eat less and see how I tolerate it. HW-292 • SW (6/29/17) 256.6 • CW 240.8
