You are a real charmer, Sue. I can only imagine how pleasant you are in RL.

I don't and won't eat meat for ethical reasons. I am a vegan with the exception of eggs. I don't have a NUT (nutritionist?) and listing my food intake won't help because it changes so drastically from day to day. I do use myfitnesspal and have the subscription so I can adjust macros. I was hoping someone could offer a good maco goal of protein/carbs/fats? And I didn't mention veggies because the calories are negligible. I know spinach isn't the reason the scale isn't moving. haha

I need help. I had my sleeve done in Mexico and really thought I had this. There was next to no follow-up and I was completely comfortable with it and just went about my business with weight loss. Well, the loss slowed and I told myself that was normal. Then the loss stopped. I told myself that was a normal stall. I wrote a post talking about how cool I was with slow losing but then I packed 4 lbs back on and I wanted to cry. I need advice, please!!
Background:
I am a low BMIer. I had surgery back at the end of May and needed to lose approximately 50-60 lbs. I am almost 6 months out and lost 32 lbs. Last week the scale lept up (and stayed up) 4 lbs so now I am back to 28 lbs loss. I have approximately 30 lbs left.
What I know I am doing wrong:
- I am not exercising. I will fix that starting today. I have a gym membership and will alternate cardio and weights each day/4 - 5 days a week.
- I am not drinking enough Water. Lord knows I try but I would say I am close to 48 ounces a day.
- My diet is crap. The only stuff that seems to stay down is starchy carbs. bread, potatoes, rice...stuff like that. eggs usually stay down. I don't eat meat (which is fine because it comes up ridiculously quick.) Protein Shakes come back up. Because I eat empty carbs my calories can flex from 800-1400 calories a day. I am 5 11" so even at 1400 calories a day I should still see some scale movement though.
What I know I am doing right:
- I am recording my food so I at least know what my caloric intake is.
- I am not drinking sugary drinks beyond the occassional glass of wine.
- I am not standing on the scale every day. I climb on once a week.
Advice? Opinions? I am opening to anything...

If someone is allowing themselves to turn to food because they are frustrated by a stall, which is a normal, natural, and necessary part of the process of losing weight, then I think it is applicable.
I am not being dismissive, I am just tired.
I totally agree. I am personally tired of a number on a scale determining my level of happiness that day. I let it go. Your weight will stall...that is the reality. Everything said here doesn't need a cyber hug or smiley emoji. Grow up and deal with it, ppl.
I will also volunteer and be the teller of unpopular truths: if you have a 9-month stall, it is time to reevaluate your diet and/or step it up in the gym. This applies to me as much as anyone else in here.

I am a low BMIer (only here would being 60 lbs overweight be considered a low BMI thing...blows my mind). Anyhow,, I had surgery at the very end of May and have lost 31-32 lbs. I am 19 lbs from content and 29 lbs from some insurance chart's version of a healthy weight.
I am going to step up the exercise but wanted to say I am good w/this. I would rather go slow than drop 50 lbs in a month and then gain it all back. How are you guys feeling about slow loss?

Thanks. It finally healed. It still feels more tender that "regular" skin but I am fine.
On a happy note, I am almost half way to my goal. 26 lbs to go!

I am checking back in. I am slowly bobbing along.
It has been about 9 weeks post-op and I am down 23 lbs. I have 27 lbs to go. Considering I am not freaking out over my diet, measuring everything and just intuitively eating while enjoying life, I am quite pleased.

I do Protein Shakes periodically. I struggle to get past the taste.
They never taste as good as they do from smoothie King. HA!

Hey all.
I had my VSG done in Mexico. I have had no medical side effects and have not been in to see a doc since the surgery. (I knew that would be par for the course by going to Mexico)
Anyhow, can I get your feedback? I am 6 weeks out today and am down 20 lbs. I have 30-40 to go. I drink w/out a problem. meat will NOT stay down. I get my Protein from eggs and tuna.
Is this sounding about right?

Congrats getting into the 2s!!!

I am going to be a month out tomorrow and have lost 18 lbs. The first 14 fell off in 2 weeks...the last 4 lbs have taken two weeks to come off. It is slow going. I have started back at the gym and hope to convert some of this fat into muscle to help out.

Hey...congrats on the 60 lbs!!! You are going to want to do strength training! Weights, weights, weights. https://www.bodybuilding.com/fun/trainingstation1.htm That link will take you to an article about why you want to strength train. Once there, go to the menu bar and go to "Find A Plan". They are free.
Let me just add I am sorry 60+ people read your post and didn't bother to respond. I have the same problem here. :/

Hey, I have a question. One of my incisions (where the drain was) STILL hasn't healed. It has been a month. It has a deep scab and is tender to the touch. It doesn't appear to be infected...not red and angry (beyond scar tissue around the edge being pink), it isn't weeping... I am watching it closely but was wondering if this was normal? Have any of you had the same experience?

Omg...I feel like a failure. I made it through 30 minutes and quit. Tell me it gets easier...Pre surgery I knocked out an hour several times a week.

The gas pain is the worst part. Hang in there...every day gets better. It took about a week for mine to completely go away.

Yup...thought I would be slick and eat a very small ice cream cup. 7 days out...what could go wrong? 🤢🤢🤢 In my defense, it went smooth as silk. Then my heart started pounding. Then I landed in the bathroom. Good times.

I did it! My plane landed at 10:30. I was in having my surgery around 2 (I think). The whole thing went so fast I didn't have time to be nervous.
Things to note:
The gas pain sucks. As others mentioned, Gas X will not help this out. It is CO2 in the body cavity. Walking a lot is difficult because there isn't a lot places to walk while in the hospital except the bariatric hallway. I am hungry. LOL I feel the little sip of Soup I get will a) immediately fill me up and be sheer heaven.
There are 3 other people here but I haven't seen them leave their rooms. :/ I want someone to come walk with me. haha
