Sweet as peaches reacted to Apple1 in What is the best way to wake up on a Sunday morning? With your 10 month old granddaug
I checked my scale using 2 gallons of water which should have been 16 lbs. it was 16.9. So if I take off .5 for the plastic jugs, I would say my scale is .5 over. So that means I actually lost .5 more...lol it is accurate enough.

Wow, kept her overnight too! That is some energy!!! That was a blessing to your daughter and her hubby too. So nice.
If your scale is accurate to measure ten lbs as ten lbs, then yes, the number you are weighing is accurate. Now, your body may have held water the previous day, maybe you sweat it all out running after your granddaughter, but the scale is accurate. Our bodies are not. LOL
I haven't weighed, don't want too still, but I'm curious of where I'm at now. Guess I've got one week and five days to find out!

When i started my insurance wanted to do six months supervised weight loss. Mine was at the clinic where i went for screening with the nut. So it was a group educational setting which was not too bad. Time went by quickly better than seeing your pcp every month.

I'm glad to read these results as well. I say this because you aren't going through the Alberta WMP. In there, they make sure to have interviews separate from your SO to ensure you don't have any barriers to success that might include your SO. From the sounds of it, he's very supportive, which is fantastic. My wife was very skeptical at first, but that was maybe a few weeks until she went with me to my appointments and saw that this is no joke. Since then she's been extremely helpful, cooking anything she can, catering extensively to my diet, and being that she suffers PCOS and gained a lot of weight post-daughter, she's used my success and has made significant changes herself resulting in losing 20-30 pounds in less than a month. She does even more than I do, she tracks every day on MFP, and is religious about protein. It's even better if you both are in a great and healthy lifestyle, and for us it translates to our daughter as we seriously moderate her junk food intake.

I was going to take some pain meds but I slept through the pain. I am up now so I will take some after eating. I have to get a heating pad cause i misplaced mine. I thought i was going through menopause but i squashed that idea. Hopefully, i will feel better so i can go to work tomorrow. Thank you ladies.

Sweet as peaches reacted to Sleeve1stFitNext in Is any scared they won't have as much success as others? Or are you scared of failing
Honestly @Sweet as peaches I can say that I thought I would not achieve the success that I have so far. I thought I would fail or my desire for junk food would take over. The key to success is to never worry about where someone else is in their journey but to focus on yours. The reason I say that, is because that person that you think is doing way better than may feel like they are not achieving as much as you are.
Hard work, dedication and faith will push you forward. I sometimes look at others success in my Facebook support group and it brings me down. The look amazing and I felt like I didn't. I felt like I did not achieve as much and why is it taking so long. Honestly, I have kept a track of my loss every week. As you can see, I have had some bad weeks were I have barely lost anything but then I have great weeks. I focus on those bad weeks to see what I could have done better and try to make the next week count.
This sheet is something that I hold dear to myself and I am comfortable to share with you. So when you think I am doing amazing, know I am struggling just like you are.

My sister had the bypass done several years ago. She put everything back on and then some. She also didn't seek help for her mental issues that led her to a terrible eating habit. She also didn't have the support she needed either. (I actually had no idea she did it!!!) So, its very true that it could come back, but that's only if you don't work for it. not easy, but it can be and will be done!

Hugs, lady! I worry about this too. I've been stubbornly trying to lose weight for the last 4 years, would lose the same 20ish lbs over and over again. It took a huge toll on me mentally and got to a point where no matter how much weight I lost, I knew it was a matter of time before I put it back on. Sad but true. A few years ago I managed to lose 60lbs but put it back on and then some.
I still have the mentality in the back of my head that I might lose the same 20lbs and then pack it back on, but then I see how well I've been doing and I know objectively there is no way I'd be able to eat as little as I am now. Preop I've crash dieted to where I was consuming 500-600cals/day, but I could never last more than 2 or 3 days before I broke. There is no way I ever could have lasted 2 weeks, like I have now.
I have a couple of friends who have had bariatric surgery, and 2 of them have experienced significant complications, one of them gained back almost all of his weight. It's scary, but I'm hoping the pain I experienced when I gained back my weight, along with the success stories, support, and tips I get here will keep me on the right track. It's something we are all gonna have to fight for the rest of our lives, but we can do it!

I think we all have thought about this at some point, but I believe attitude can have a big influence on outcome. I have told myself I am going to do my best to remain positive and focus on all of the things I need to do to remain successful. I believe you will do well sweet as peaches and I will be here if you ever need my support.

Yes, listen to your body! I could only do a few ten min walks per day. No where near counting steps. I don't care to count either, but anyway, I'm just a week ahead of you post op and as you know, we get better each day. I can walk pretty good now without the incision pain too. You'll get there, take it easy. We are still healing. 😊 Blessings to you hon.
