So, I went to the store for my hubs and got some more thin set for him to finish the backsplash. He was almost done with it when he realized that it wasn't thin set, but grout. He wasn't too happy but I couldn't help I laugh. I apologized to him while laughing. He even wanted to start laughing. He says he forgives me. Lol

So I take back the grout I bought to grout, since we'll use what he was using and got thin set this evening. When I hopped out of the truck I looked down and I had my house slippers on!!!!! Lol oh my goodness, I felt to silly.

I felt like I'm a little today and oh so very tired. My husband looked at me like "what's wrong with you"...I was staring off in space. Anybody else feel off? I had enough sleep last night. food and drinks are good, although I'm drinking more Water to make sure.

Wow!!!! I thought i was losing i kinda felt wobbly and extremely tired. Plus low energy my voice is even less exciting.

No I don't but I wouldn't be surprised s I do love them. I am half Caucasian and half black. But here's the kicker....I swear I've got some Caribbean blood somewhere. Hey, I was even jamming out to some reggae in the truck today. Lol. I also used to do Latin dancing. Took lessons for a few years before meeting my husband. I'm not bragging, but I was really really good. I had many people asking if I were a professional Latin dancer (I dance with my Puerto Rican guy friend at the time). Kept my weight in check then doing all that dancing.

Heres another interesting fact, my brother sent his blood off for an analysis of race. We really are 62% Caucasian, 28% African American, and the rest European, etc. I'm sure that etc. is my Latin blood. 😂

That is beautiful. I love hearing about different backgrounds and knowing culturally we all blend together. food especially is my favorite thing bout different cultures. I love your blends of spices and food very authentic. I have a Caribbean background and southern one.

I started cleaning out my closet tonight. I had a lot of size 3x and 18-20 stuff that I know I will never wear again. It felt good to bag those clothes up and make room for some new stuff in the not so distant future. I also found a ton of different sized jeans I had saved, I have several in size 12, 10, and 8. The 14's I am wearing now are getting loose so it won't be long.

Getting smaller I just love hearing about cleaning out the closet.

Kitchen done or not, I cleared some space and cooked up some shrimp and sausage with veggies (peppers, zucchini, onion, garlic). Old bay seasoning, pepper, salt, red pepper flakes.

    Yum!

Your food has some Jamaican flavors happening. Do you have Caribbean in your background? It looks so beautiful.

Wow @Sweet as peaches you ate chicken. Glad it agreed with your stomach. Did you shredd it up?

Sorry to hear about the allergies. My dh suffers with hem also this time of year.

I did find an elliptical and got a great deal also. We got a military discount so it worked out good.

Oh yes it was delicious. It was grilled extremely tender. Congratulation on your newest addition lol. Allergies are a nightmare thank you. I slept practically the whole day.

Hello, I guess this is my introduction to the forum, please point me in the right way if I'm in the wrong place.

I'm a 46 Y/O guy, about to go in for a revision to my RNY that was done a while back (exact date when I remember...)

My new date is this coming Tuesday, May 30th, 2017.

My first surgery was somewhat successful, but I guess I got tired of the restrictions and requirements after a while, and I started cheating more and more in my diet.

I dropped down to around 300 lbs after starting at 618, my heaviest.

A few years ago I had an accident, where I was left in a lot of pain, and since I didn't have insurance I left it go untreated, and that was the beginning of my weight gain, to where I'm now, 504 lbs as of last Monday.

Well, here I am, not as excited as the first time, and not scared either, more of a feeling of "whatever".

Now, don't get me wrong, I will make it work, it's not as fun being fat and 46, like it was being fat and 30.

Anyway, I'm an open book, ask away if you have any Q's, and I'm looking fwd to learning from ya'lls successes and mistakes, especially now that I found a forum dedicated to guy's issues, because my first time around, it was mostly ladies, with very few guys, and most of those guys were young.

    Best Regards.

At least you recognized the mistakes and you are trying to rectified the changes. Do you have any support at home or near your area?

In a blender, blend together a large handful of kale, large handful of spinach, 1/2 cucumber, 1/2 large green apple, 3 slices of ginger, and 1/2 avocado. (You can add whatever veggies you'd like). Add some Water and make it a pourable but not too liquid-y consistency. Pour in to ice cube trays. Freeze them. Pop them out and store in a freezer bag or container. Pop one or two out (I used two yesterday) and blend with Protein Drink. But because I didn't want my pre made Protein drink to get frothy, I blended my two green bombs with a little bit of Water first. Then I added the Protein Drink and shook the container instead.

i like green drinks, they taste fresh for me. So if you don't care for them, then you'll probably want to add fruit to make them a little sweeter. These taste good (to me) in chocolate Protein Shakes.

Good afternoon ladies, so sorry for being out of touch but i had allergies and stomach issues. I guess eating and drinking new stuff is changing my body with bm so it's working great. I ate a small piece of chicken with juices from it last night and today had a Protein Shake earlier and. 4 pieces of grilled chicken. Overall i feel better. Nice looking kitchen @Newme17 @Apple1 wishing you luck on your bm and exercise equipment. And to the rest of the ladies happy Sunday enjoy your memorial day.

Are you taking the tablets? If so, I'm taking those same ones. Twice a day. Big and bulky. I eat them in like ten bites and it's the last thing I want in my mouth. Just thinking of them is making me feel a little queasy. Have you figured what you would take instead?

I have take them three times but they get stuck every time. Omg those big beige looking capsules. They have chewables but i have to order online my nut doesn't have the chewables which is where i got the tablets from. My nut only has chewable Calcium.

Thank you for posting your guidelines @Newme17. I agree with you in that there is no one diet that is correct for all of us. We all have different medical issues, cultural differences, religious beliefs..ect.

I was following a low carb diet before my surgery because I was trying to control my type 2 diabetes without insulin. It was working and I was able to reduce my A1c from over 11% down to 6.2. The problem is I don't know if that diet is sustainable long term for me, or if in the grand scheme of things it would be healthy long term. My cholesterol is high as is my triglycerides.

I am just trying to figure out a plan moving forward and at this point I would like to believe healthy means balanced.

Whatever stays down I will eat. That's going to be my diet. Lots of meat veggies and grains once I get completely cleared.

Definitely this. My step daughter is my hardest child (we had custody of her). I'm sad to say, I'm relieved when she spending the night at a friend's house. Lol. She's 12 going on who knows what!? Like she knows everything. Drives me nuts. Some people actually get a break with step kids, I'm not one of them. I love her dearly and would adopt her anytime, just wish the bio mother would relinquish her rights. It'll make things easier.

Now, I believe God put her in my life and I am to raise her. But if I had known all the headaches, I'm not so sure I'd pick to be a stepmom all over again. Kind of makes me sound like I regret, I don't. Just don't wish all the drama on anyone, whether they choose to or not.

Does that make sense? And if you've been a step kid before, looking back, was there a lot of nonsense drama that could have been prevented? I wouldn't know. I'm the first in my family to carry the step title.

Okay, back to WLS, lol. Had my Premier Protein with two green bombs. Success!!! I feel so much better having some veggies in my body. Going to make sure I add them everyday. I could use a bm. 😁

I drank apple juice diluted with Water and it flushed me out today. One of the reason, I haven't been posting too much today. I am truly sick of those Celebrate Vitamins so big and yucky I'm almost threw them up. I got to get some chewables fast.

Aww that's soo cute thanks lol. But listen it's never too late.. specially now.. there are men that are looking for companions. I know because i have aunts that have found companions at your age too. And plus.. at your age is easier because more then likely their kids are big already so you wont have to deal with being a step mom to little kids and stuff.

I still have a preteen that Im still raising.

I'm getting there slowly but that's fine with me. Taking it one day at a time

I'm 5 1/2 months post op. I use to complain about walking. Now if someone asks let's walk then I say let's go.

    Great work. Looking awesome.

Good morning. NordicTrack and Precor are the ones I know of that are pretty good. Provided you want to spend all the $1000...some might be in the $700 range though. Also depends on if you want all the extra gadgets on them too. You could always go with a cheaper one, under $500, but might need to really look in to reviews and how long they may last, etc. Do you have a fitness equipment store that allows you to try the floor model machines in your area? That would be a good way to determine as well.

I don't like frothy drinks. I can imagine all the air already. lol. Bet it's good with the strawberries though. I'm eating cream of wheat with cocoa powder and stevia added. I need to add in my green bombs (frozen ice cube sized blended mix of kale, spinach, ginger, green apple, avocado, and cucumber) to a Protein Drink later. I miss my fruits and veggies...I'm actually cleared for them on Monday but I think I'll start early and see how it goes.

All of the veggies i love you mentioned. Exercise machines rock. I love cream of wheat. I like your description and im going to try that.

I almost decided on tuna. I feel like I'm slacking on trying new things though. You did great on Protein. I confess, I haven't counted today. If I have to guess it'll be about 45g. I'll try harder tomorrow.

Well, I thank you. Tuna, has always been my love and go to food. Enjoy. You guys rock. It can be done the bulk of the Protein comes from pre made Premier Protein 30grams and i have muscle milk 20 grams.

You girls are so inspiring.. i'm reading the stories about your husbands and i think to myself.. one day i will have a companion. I also dont have kids. I'm 29 years old. I'm trying to give myself all the things i want before someone comes along. But i love the stories of companionships .

They are inspiring. Behind a great man is a great woman. @Apple1 @Newme17 we salute you. @mishyk i second everything you said.

Looks yummy, but I can't eat shellfish. My dh loves black Beans and rice. I haven't tried any meats yet, but I bought some salmon today so very soon I will try some.

Love salmon. I had tuna fish today i did pretty good with 2oz had to do in three parts but it was done plus i jazzed up my Water and made limeade with true lime and equal sugar. Got 60 grams of Protein in also.

So what's for dinner. Black Beans again. Lol. Love them. But I did cook two shrimp to go with it. I'm not enjoying the shrimp too much and they're my favorite seafood of all time. Maybe I didn't season good enough. They're tasting a little bit too fishy for me. But it's not upsetting my stomach. Maybe some cheese on top will make it better. 😊

Should have just made one shrimp. I didn't anticipate finishing, and I'm totally not finishing it

Looks like masterchef plating. Very beautiful. Love shrimp.

Ok I seem to be posting a ton of pics today, so these will be the last for awhile. I made the Ricotta bake tonight. I made a separate one for my dh which I added some ground turkey with green peppers and onions. I used sauce with no added sugar, whole milk ricotta, shredded 6 cheese Italian, and parmigiana. I don't like low fat cheeses, but if you do that would cut some calories. I put mine in a muffin pan. It was delicious and it seems to have agreed with my stomach. I couldn't finish the whole serving, there was about two bites left when I was full.

    IMG_0050.JPG

That's spectacular. It is very even and looks like it was easy to pull out to serve.

There are THOUSANDS of great men that can be great husbands out there! I'm assuming you're single based on your post. So, with that...you have it best really (in my opinion) to just really truly focus on yourself. I think you have children too? Older? So, yeah, enjoy your time. Take care of you. Live it hon. A good man can come along...have faith. :)

    Well, Thank you BBP. 😃
