I am scheduled to have surgery on May 31, and my husband broke his foot today, the heel bone. He may have to have surgery as soon as the end of this coming week, so I'm not sure yet but I may have to postpone my surgery. I feel so sorry for him, he even feels so bad about it that he keeps apologizing to me for his foot being broken, and it's not his fault. I would never let him know that I'm crying inside at the thought of having to wait after all my hard work to get to this point, I just said we'll figure it out, no big deal. He is looking at being non-weight bearing on the broken foot for maybe two months with or without surgery. We see the orthopedic surgeon on Monday or Tuesday so hopefully he can give us a better idea of what to expect.

I do feel horrible that this has happened to him, and I feel like such an a-hole for even worrying about my surgery with what he's going through. Jeez, why can't anything just be easy for once?

You nor husband didn't anticipate this was going to happen so that being said you should not feel ashamed. It will work itself out the important thing is that you guys are going through this together. Like your vows said for better or worse. Keep each other heads up and prayers air bound it will be fine.

Well, that's cool, being in NYC. I'm sure there are ups and downs to it, just as any other places. I'd love to visit the city sometime in my lifetime. I live approximately 7mins from the beach. We're surrounded by Water here. Don't go as often though.

Yes, it is pretty cool lots of traffic, big buildings, beautiful parks and lots of museums.Plenty of places to walk to and drive through without missing a beat. Sometimes it's too crowded. But i like the quiet time.

I took off my binder last night to try and sleep without it. As I laid down, I kept having spasms. I tried to ignore them and eventually fell asleep. Woke up a few mins ago (it's 5:57am now) with spasms. So I go to the bathroom, nothing special happened. Put my binder back on and the spasms are gone. Im gonna try to sleep a bit more, but now I have that nagging empty stomach feeling. I really don't want to get up, mostly because our inside dog, a toy poodle name Dash, will expect me to let him out of his crate and outside and I don't feel like doing all of that just now. Lol. He's still a puppy and drives me nuts these days.

So, I'll try for more sleep, if not, it's gonna be a long day. At least I'll get out of the house and go to church and possibly the grocery store.

I woke at 6a.m. to make my morning shakes and take medicine. I am so glad we are improving each day and once we get back on top we all will be fearless. @Newme17 there is a recipe called shelly baked ricotta maybe you could try it once your kitchen is done. After my soft food advancing, im going to try it. On the YouTube video it looked yummy.

I'm 8 days out. My first few days were miserable and I was wondering what I did to myself also. It gets better each day. Focus on hydration first for right now. I'm finally tolerating Protein Shakes better but they still sit heavy in my stomach and don't taste very good. It gets better I promise.

Yes, it does get better. I know for two days after surgery i was still experiencing side effects from the anesthesia with Migraine like head pain. Nothing would work I just had to leave it my system and i couldn't even sleep cause the pain would happen when i woke up. I feel better now.

I am way behind on posts this afternoon. We walked about 2.5 miles today on Mission and Pacific beach. I really think I need to slow down a little. I feel fine, but I am worried I will over do it and pay for it later. Well I have all next week off from work so I will take things a little slower once I get home tomorrow.

👍That is lovely walking on the beach one to get exercise in and enjoyment all in one swipe.

I'm feeling extremely tired today. My mom left this morning to go back home, so maybe it's just that combined with my body recovering. I'm having a really hard time with my Protein. I just hate the Protein Shakes so much. I'm just kind of blah today. Tomorrow will be better.

I hope you feel better and so sweet of your mom to help you in this time of healing.Mommies are great. The Protein Shakes can get you down especially when you see them every day. You are a trooper keep pushing through.

I don't like mashed potatoes, but if I could, I'd eat mashed potatoes now!!! lol. The craving to eat has been pretty hard today. I keep telling myself, just one more day, then I get to have cream of wheat, refried Beans, fish, shrimp, and good creamy Soup. Can't wait!!!

I'm so sorry @Newme17 it was the battle of Protein Shakes talking. I am so happy you will be advancing. (psst take me with you). You go girl.

Well my husband and I are back in San Diego. We are planning to go to Sea World this afternoon for a little while since we have free military passes. I will remember to take it slow. I feel blessed that I am doing well enough that I want to go.

Still no BM here. I think I will take something on Sunday when we get home if it hasn't happened before then. I hope everyone has a good day today.

Way to go @Apple1 i am glad you're back home.

Hey, lady. Yes, I am 3 days post op and doing much better. Pain is tolerable, full liquids started today and I don't seem to be having some of the side effects others have reported so far, so I really can't complain. I hope you're feeling better as well?

Yes, i am doing rather well now i know what it means to be full. My chest hurts and once i belch it should go down.

I think I left nervous behind last week and am now bordering on near-hysteria, though I'm pretty prone to anxiety...just keep thinking about all the reasons you decided to do this and how much healthier and happier you'll be in a few short months. I'll never say it's going to be easy, but we both know it'll be worth it. Deep breath lady, you've got this.

How are you feeling now hopefully you are better?

Wondering if anyone else is feeling more sore today than the previous few days? I feel like I have terrible muscle cramps on my lower left side. Like when you ealk or run too fast

My cramps is the right side of the middle area which is tender but the pain should subside every day. That can happen just take it easy and slow down i learned the hard way remember we had major surgery we are still damaged goods😎

You guys are a God send and I am extremely thankful I have beautiful people like yourself to keep afloat from beginning to end. I am truly amazed. Thank you so much.

I've noticed, my mornings are when I feel the worst. I get up and nausea hits me pretty bad. I don't want to take any meds, but I just can't seem to shake it off now. I have terrible sinus drainage (being here in south Texas) and it's hard to clear it up when I've got the internal stitch going on, that, and trying to cough. I know past this nausea I'll feel much better. Didn't get much sleep after the throw up session with my little one, she woke up two more times stating she was thirsty. Thankfully I had a bottle of Water on my night stand next to me.

I will be receiving a new abdominal binder today. The one from the hospital was too big. It should help with pressure especially when I need to cough.

Well, the day begins....I'm sure to take a nap once my older ones are at school and my husband is up.

Wow just a bad day all around for you. Thankfully, you have your husband to help. Sweetie, please feel better and the family too cause stomach viruses are contagious one person gets it. It starts a whole chain reaction. Im praying you get better. Would you do the surgery again? Minus the headaches i would.

She's running a fever still. I'll stick to the brat diet for her. She had shots yesterday, I'm sure that contributed to the fever, but the stomach virus/ache seems to have come from maybe school. She'll stay home today with me, fortunately, it's my husband's day off too, so he can take care of her requests, as she has so many. lol.

Oh poor baby!!!! I know she will love all the attention even though she is sick. Poor little one they are so helpless when they are sick. That use to happen to my baby as well parents send their kids to school sick now she is in 6th grade and i still worry bout her. Wishing for speedy recovery.
